One problem related to steering rack and pinion has been reported for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Electric power steering failed while driving. Truck towed to a dealer. After replacing the electric power steering motor, electrical loom and the battery, was informed that the steering rack failed - possibly due to water penetration into the rack and pinion drive. Suspect a faulty or badly designed seal which may be the cause for thie failures on the 2014 Silverado trucks.
