1 Suspension Noise problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 04/02/2015

I was driving to my home from work when I noticed an excessive knocking sound coming from the front of the truck. I pulled into my driveway looked at the front suspension and around both tires. That's when I saw that the passenger side front upper shock mount had broken free from the frame. The shock was just banging freely against the frame. The truck is 15 years old so I know its not under warranty, but that's just poor construction. The truck has been my daily driver and has never been offroad. Judging from the other complaints regarding the frame cracking and/or breaking that I've read, I'm assuming gm isn't going to do anything about it. It's just sad. Regardless, I think NHTSA should issue a recall because this is a safety concern. The excess bounce can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/31/2014

I purchased the 2014 chevy Silverado crew cab lt texas edition from reliable Chevrolet in richardson, TX. Immediately after purchasing without a test drive it noticed that there was a vibration, steering problem, and scratches on the bed. . Because it was a demo of was told by the new car salesman that they had made sure the vehicle was inspected and that the scratches were superficial and it's a demo so that's how it is. I spoke with the business manager and they put a spay in bed liner to fix the scratche's and did a balance on the tirer. I picked the truck up and the steering and vibration problems were still there. It went back into the shop again and they couldn't duplicate any problems. The steering is almost impossible to keep in a straight line it swerves as if the truck had a few drinks. I told them it don't feel safe driving it and I'm afraid I'm going to hit someone. I will not drive in the middle lanes. I have to drive on either far left or right lanes to allow for swerving. I complained to gm. . Got excited because they sent me to another dealership and same thing happened. . Went for a test drive. . They felt something wrong but mechanics can't "duplicate" the problem. They said they test drove it again but in don't see how when the roads were iced over. I called gm again and I'm at a new dealership they test drove it with me and headed a new popping noise when the wheels is turned and felt steering and suspension issue. They kept the truck but once again not able to duplicate. I've had a few loaners and none of them drive like mine. The truck has also had problems with ac and whiny noise in engine. I'm was supposed to pick up the truck today but I complained and they were going to test drive it again. They don't factor in the time and inconvenience of having to take off work plus gas and miles in trying to get this fixed. Not happy with this truck.

My truck has been in service department twice for the same issue, when the transmission is switching gears, it makes a clunking noise while driving it, it feels like someone is bumping the rear of truck. The repairs include transmission hard shifting 2 - 3 times, rr upper control valve body and spacer plate replaced, reset transmission, 1 2 3 4 clutch regulator valve binding in bore. Also replaced springs, second service the u joints anitsd yoke replaced, my truck continues with same problem, please look in to this its horrible & very dissapointing why can`t they fix it, my truck sounds like an old vehicle I think something is wrong with suspension. I`m desperate to find an answer. Its an expensive truck to be dealing with these issues.

4 Suspension Noise problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/15/2005

Noticed vehicle vibration at 45 mph like tire out of round. At 55 mph and greater, vibration felt like tire out of balance. Gm tells me problem is normal, will not correct. Gm calls the problem "beaming", and suggests placing 500 lbs in bed of truck. Tried this and vibration still exists. Truck shakes so bad at 65 mph that it is unstable in curves, making it difficult to handle. The vehicle cannot continue to be reliable with this continuous vibration eating away at the suspension system. The vehicle now has developed a harmonic noise at 45 mph and less, which the dealer tells me is also normal and will not repair.
