1 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2014

I was driving down the road at 45 mph, when a deer stepped out only 40 yards ahead of me, I applied my brakes and heard a loud pop and my brake pedal went to the floor and had absolutely no brakes. Luckily the deer started to sprint because I missed the deer by only a couple feet. After looking under the hood I found out the master cylinder blew a o-ring. I did some research and it looks like chevy knew about this problem.

2 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2012

While exiting interstate 89 in swanton vermont, I applied the brakes and the pedal went completely to the floor with nearly no braking occurring. There were no warning lights or previous problems. Vehicle was towed to a repair facility. An inspection revealed the brake line burst very close to the master cylinder. The inspection also revealed the entire brake-lines were rusted and corroded beyond any normal wear. The repairman stated that he has seen this on a number of silverado's and that their is obvious problems with the quality of the lines. This vehicle is garage kept and shows no body wear or engine wear.

3 Brake Master Cylinder problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2010

Complete brake failure. I went to start the pickup truck and when I stepped on the brake pedal it went to the floor. The truck had just been used a few minutes earlier and the brakes worked fine. Due to rust, a brake line burst. I thought with a dual master cylinder I would never loose both front and back brakes at the same time. This was not the case. The brakes do not to stop this vehicle.
