general problems of the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - part 1

The contact owned a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 40 mph, when the vehicle in front stopped suddenly, the contact's vehicle rear-ended the vehicle. The contact's vehicle came to a stop from the impact. No warning lights were illuminated. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The paramedics were not called. Both the contact's son and the passenger sustained injuries. The contact's son was taken to an emergency care center by the girlfriend. The doctor diagnosed that the contact's son had a bruise on the right side of the ribs. And the passenger had a bruise on the back, his leg, bruised ribs, and a seat belt burned by the neck. The vehicle was towed to auto mill llc. The insurance company was contacted, and pending results. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

I was in an accident and the truck is toatalled and the air bags did not deploy.

My trailer brake service light is on and my trailer brakes don’t work . That’s about all I can think of and haven’t been able to figure out the fix.

As a safety recall, I did take the truck in for the airbag recall upon completion. I ran the codes and I have an airbag code. They’re saying that the dashboard was broken before they started. It was not. They broke it on installation of the new airbag.

I went to get the takata recall done. I made an appointment at the dealer, and I showed up. After spending several hours of my day, the dealer told me the airbag was on back order and they even asked me if I actually want to get it done. The dealer informed me my dash would be broken after they finished the job. I told them the airbag is dangerous and it needed to get done. They told me they would order it and call me when it arrived and that has never happened. I called the NHTSA hot line and there was no service. The fact is this should have been recalled on November 15, 2015, but the NHTSA let gm postpone the recall endangering the public for over 7 years. The fact is the NHTSA covers for gm like they did with the ignition switch, the gmt800 brake lines and a bunch of other situations. The NHTSA reports are also full of lies and misinformation. I don’t blame gm for not doing the recall because they never planned on it. I blame the NHTSA for covering for them and helping companies like gm in hiding defects. Now even if I get the recall done the vehicle will have one of the squibs disconnected because that is part of the gm recall instructions. They actually tell the technician to cut 1/2 of the airbag wires. The fact is this will make the air bag weaker.

I have had to repair the driver’s side airbag ($700) and now the driver’s side airbag light is on for service. I have not had any accidents.

The vehicle was parked under a tree during the day while I went to work. The tree blocked the sunlight but the truck was still quite hot due to the black interior and hot temperatures. After work, I noticed that there was a crack in the dash that went from the airbag to the middle seam. This, along with another crack that was new, makes the dash flimsy and you can see it vibrate when driving down the road. I believe that if the airbags were to go off, pieces of plastic from the dash would break off and become a safety hazard, the truck is in excellent condition and has been properly maintained.

Why is there no solution to this recall? do we have to wait until someone is hurt for it to be addressed?.

I was driving and there was snowy conditions, but I came to a complete stop then proceeded to turn left, it was slippery but I hit nothing and my curtain air bags deployed for no reason scared the crap outta me, I stopped and checked my vehicle there where no new damages and not another vehicle in site??? my neck now hurts and I'm confused on why my air bags deployed???.

We would like to get this recall fixed on my 2010 silverado, I transport my special needs daughter daily and need her safety.

Please note my vehicle was not in an accident. I received an airbag recall notice via the mail this past summer and I checked to see whether or not my vehicle qualifies for this recall via the airbagrecall. Com website and it does. I contacted my local Chevrolet dealer a few times since receiving this notice this past summer, but each time they have informed me that I will receive a second letter notifying me of when the parts will be available. .
