When backing truck up & pressing brake, it feels "spongy" or like the brake is not working right and sometimes vehicle doesn't stop. I had mechanic inspect brakes & they reported no visible issues. They recommended for me to check for a recall relating to this issue.
Frame is rotting out.
Entire frame completely rusted out. Do not know the exact date it happened but just noticed it.
For several years now, I have been receiving the notification service: trailer brake. I typically try to dismiss it, but on occasion, it will continue to pop up over and over and over and over again. I have driven this vehicle since it's original purchase and have never even used the trailer brake. (even though it's been titled twice - I purchased it from the company I work for. ) thankfully it has not caused any accidents. Just an annoyance. But I have been reading online that some owners have been unable to operate their vehicles due to this issue. This is not a daily driver vehicle but today was the most recent episode with the warning. I drove maybe a couple of miles total and it chimed and notified me approximately 20 times in this short distance. I looked on youtube and there are countless owners that have this same problem. It is definitely a distraction to the driver and could potentially cause a very serious accident.
When I slow down and turn my truck suddenly losses power steering. Everything turns off for a second and then comes back on. And I get a notice on the dash that I lost power.
Service trailer brake system keeps coming on along with a ding ding ding. I don't even use this.
Service trailer brake system goes off constantly over and over for several minutes while driving. It’s very distracting to the driver and causes fear for using brakes and then failing.
The air conditioner condenser has a small leak causing the refrigerant to leak out. This is a known problem with all gm silverado 2014-2017 and a recall needs to be issued. They are all leaking in the same place due to a faulty weld from the factory.
Vehicle and warranty was purchased 6/4/22. The following warning signs: service 4wd, service trailer brake system, it has shut off while driving on 6 separate occasions, vehicle locks after losing power and can’t put car in neutral, and several other safety issues, noise coming from engine.
I started my truck remotely, when I got into my truck the back windshield broke. Gm has a customer satisfaction program (n192265660). My vehicle is not covered, gm advised me to file a complaint to get my vehicle covered under the same program.
Friday November 26th after having hit a deer, my truck quit entirely. Transmission would shudder, and rattle, then not engage, causing engine to die during several attempts. I had to have the truck towed 3 times just to get it to where I could have the issue diagnosed. Gateway transmission quoted $4200 minimum on repairs including torque convertor, drive shaft (replace w steel not orig. Alum). The repairs are completed, which now totaled $ 6,374. 84 paid out of pocket. I have been without a vehicle for 60 days. The transmission coolant lines also had to be replaced. No gm notification has been received. Multiple complaints found re same issue. I am deaf phone included is a voice contact family member.
The transmission is throwing codes for selanoids and I've gone online and seems there's millions out there with the same problem in these Chevrolet vehicles.
Service sabilitrack warning will appear and not that the vehicle will have limited steering capabilities. Then while driving 75 miles an hour on the highway merging lanes the steering wheel locked completely and unable to move it at all. Not an issue with power steering but an actual locking of the wheel. Happened multiple other times in parking lots. Was addressed and fixed by Chevrolet dealership, but now issue is back after the truck failed a state inspection and the tech reset the computer.
My 2014 chevy silverado crew cab 1500 has started to vibrate. It’s like it comes and goes sometime. I was driving down the highway and something didn’t feel right so I thought it was the road surface that was making my truck feel that way. I then was driving on a newly resurfaced road an it was feeling the same like I had a flat tire. The tires were ok. It had this vibration.
Cable attaching driver?s side seat belt broke.
Vehicle starts to shake when driven above 70mph. If brakes are applied to reduce speeds from 75-70 the shaking significantly increases, but decreases to the normal shaking once the brakes are released.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab lt. A/c blows hot air a/c condenser is leaking. This seams like a common problem that I and many more people think should be a recall started on. My 2014 siverodo only has 53,000 miles on it and I have always been a loyal Chevrolet truck customer. This vehicle is in all original condition and has never been wrecked or repaired.
Truck randomly shuts off when driving at low and high speeds.
Braking is hard. Vacuum pump issue. I was driving and pushed on the brakes and it was very hard.
I was hit in the rear passenger side of my truck on the highway and ended up hitting the wall it will need a balljoint, control arm, fender, hood and passenger side headlight, still needs fixed but it only has 60k miles on it.
While exiting interstate we lost all pulling power. After a few moments it let us move the vehicle but pulling power was slipping, then we lost pull again and had to have it towed. There were no service engine lights or anything and now they are telling me that the transmission is bad. I have just over 110,000 miles on this truck and the repair shop tells me that this is a common issue with the transmissions on this vehicle.
I remote started my truck and it started smoking from the rear of the crew cab, it went out but left brown snow around it but about a mile down the road the right rear glass exploded and luckily my oldest daughter is forward facing in her child seat and the glass went over or behind her chair. If my youngest was there she would have certainly taken glass to the face and been too young to not put it in her mouth if it didn't immediately hurt her. The vehicle was stationary, the remote start was used and I believe my vehicles rear defrosters were engaged during the remote start. The smoke started immidiwtely and I shit it off to get it to go away and removed them stained snow from the area. The glass exploded about a mile down the road with no other warning sign. I saw online that canada already has a recall out for this fire/safety hazard and I'm not sure the out of pocket replacement window I get will make the truck any safer for me and my kids.
While driving on freeway vehicle shut off power, truck started to shake, could not turn almost got into accident finally was able to get to curb, all light were on truck, wouldn't start again. Wait all most 1 hr. It started. Took in to chevy dealership three time they kept say nothing wrong ,diagnosed battery ok couldn't find anything wrong. . I wouldn't leave ask him to check negative battery cable mechanic say ok. . Now they look into more completely say on modular starting mechanism. . . No recalls on this there are quite of people complain about this online. . Simple fix replace negative cable!!!!.
While driving, the "service trailer brakes system" kept coming on. There was a visual and audio warning chime that would not stop. Instead of a single notification to the driver, the intermittent connection would result in the error message continuously re-appearing and chiming. This was extremely distracting and could increase risk of crash. I removed the brake gain controller from the dash and found corrosion on an electrical contact strip. After cleaning it with electronics cleaner, the error message went away.
My truck isn't changing gears like it should and jerks when I slow down and apply the brakes. My mechanic said my transmission is bad and there's a recall on my make & model truck.
Drivers side seat belt will not clip in. Also, condenser & power switch on ac unit all of a sudden went bad. According to purcell tire & auto, desoto, mo. Yesterday. I've had this truck in that shop 3 times for the same problem. This all started on or about Aug. 10th 2020.
The ac has randomly stopped working. Proper maintenance has been given to this truck. It is not the compressor as the compressor still turns on. Tried recharging it with freon. Many, many websites have described the problem coming from the ac lines and how it was designed by gm. If it is a design flaw, no matter how many times we fix it and spend, it will keep going on. Gm needs to be responsible and fix this issue.
Transmission needs to be replaced and I don't have 100k miles. This vehicle has not even towed anything and is not used for commercial use.
In motion and at low speed, the vehicle stalls out when idling into a tight turn, like a parking lot or space. it hasn't always cut totally off. Usually the 'stability trac' light comes on with the failure, but some times it just cuts off, and when I crank it restarts right up.
The vehicle wobbles really bad while driving at high speeds. I have heard of a lot of other people having this same issue. Please look into it. Thank you.
Ok so I took my truck in for the brake recall which nothing was wrong with it but now when engaging brakes vehicle won't stop brake peddle goes to the floor then brake light stabilizer light there's one more light that comes on can't seem to remember so I have no idea what they did to my truck but I would really appreciate it if chevy could fix it at no charge being that nothing was wrong in the first place and now after they touched my truck my brakes is fucked up peddle shakes like crazy when slowing down.
Paint on my 2014 Chevrolet silverado is chipping or flaking off for reasons other than natural causes. The vehicle is garage kept and has only 55,000 miles on it. The paint should in no way be failing with a vehicle this new and this expensive. As you will see in the photos the paint not sticking is in areas that do not incur damage from everyday driving. I have contacted the dealership and gm manufacturer and both have told me that paint is not their problem. When I do a quick google search for "2014 silverado paint," there are 100s of forums with 1000s of comments with the same issue. One of the first pictures I came to when I searched, showed the same vehicle with paint gone in the exact same spots. After talking with the dealership and manufacturer numerous times, I felt this was one of my last resorts. The manufacturer laughed me off and said NHTSA would pay no attention as paint isnt a safety concern. Someone has to make this right without me having to spend thousands to repaint. It's a clear manufacturer defect and they should be held accountable by all standards. The cost of their vehicles being so high, all parts should last for more than 55000 miles, including the paint. Again, this vehicle is garage kept and loses paint just by driving with a breeze out. Aside from the 2 photos attached, I'm also losing paint around the windshield and low on the door panels.
My truck shuts it's self off as your driving at any speed. I was doing 50 on the highway today when it shut down with no warning. I pulled of the road put it in park turned the key off. And it restarted. The truck has also had many other isues when I took the dealer for the break recall there were 5 coads all were electrical issues. The steering assist comes on when driving along minding your own business.
2014 chevy silverado ltz 157479 miles just drive short distances but my truck has slipped gears, delays changing gears and none responding shift when in complete stop. When driving uphill truck shift from second gear to fourth gear not going back to any other gear forcing me to stop complete to start all over and hopefully making ithe hill but usually don't work. I brought this issue to gm dealership and they gave me the run around and now the only thing they can do is give $200 off for a new transmission giving me the rest to payoff a issue that has in most of this truck. Is very unsafe to drive and it looks that gm got away with all this engineering issue leaving people like me with the problem and on top make more profit on their own mistakes. So please help me and others to make sure gm fix our transmission problems.
The wax coating to prevent rust on the truck's frame is falling off. The frame has a major rust problem; the truck having a low mileage of 25,801 at the time I filed a complaint with chevy case #9-559725037 and #9-5593674272. The truck was examined at balise Chevrolet of springfield MA. Phone #413-734-6498, fax #413-734-4421 where they took photos of the problem. Balise advised me it would cost $1200. 00 to fix this rust problem. Balise assigned a repair order #667705 and contacted gm. Gm advised the dealership they would not cover any of the costs, even though this is known problem to gm in the manufacturing of chevy pick-up trucks from 2014 to 2018. I discovered the frame rust only by chance when my truck was on a lift for a flat tire repair while at another dealership. I looked into the internet and found numerous complaints for chevy truck frame rust, (NHTSA #s p10564d and p10564h, TSB # 14002a, NHTSA id # 10067212) and a manufacturer communication # sb-144002a. It is my belief the rust frame problem should be corrected by gm/chevy because it is a manufacturing defect known to the company. Gm/chevy should have sent out a recall on this hidden defect, long before I discovered it by chance and my 3 year warranty had expired. Please note the low mileage of my truck is under the 36,000 mile warranty.
