1 Radiator problem

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that he noticed fluid leaking from his vehicle. Upon inspection, he discovered that antifreeze was leaking from the radiator. The contact called al serra Chevrolet (6167 s saginaw st, grand blanc, mi 48439, 810-202-0013) and bert ogden Chevrolet (1400 e expressway 83, mission, TX 78572, 956-205-1068) and was informed that there were no recalls on his vehicle. The contact was provided an estimate by each dealer for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 89,059.

2 Radiator problem

Radiator is cracked. Same problem and same model radiator as is in the 2014 model of same vehicle. There is a recall for the same problem in a 2014 model but not 2015, like my vehicle.

3 Radiator problem

My radiator is leaking with only 48000 miles on it. There has been a recall on the model years prior to and after mine, for the same problem. A radiator should not have cracks caused from a thermostat problem in this short amount of miles. It is a slow leak and I am going to have to replace the radiator before it causes other problems or gets worse.

4 Radiator problem

Reporting that gm is aware of leaking in the radiator, transmission lines and oil coolant lines but no recall is listed. I am now having issues with all three and having to replace them.

5 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that he noticed a small leak coming from the radiator. The vehicle was taken to jeff schmitt Chevrolet south (125 s gebhart church rd, miamisburg, OH 45342) and it was stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The mechanic refused to look at the radiator. The contact reminded the dealer that TSB #: p1513f described the same symptoms as the issue however, the dealer stated that the VIN was not a match for the TSB. The contact stated that the issue was that the thermostat caused the radiator to thermo-cycle or quickly cool and heat up causing the radiator to leak. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 59,680.

6 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2020

I was on a family trip with my wife and kids and the engine temperature raised and system said to idle engine until it cooled down. I was able to cool the engine down and get the truck home. The Chevrolet dealer diagnosed a coolant leak at the radiator. Service bulletin pi1513f refers to this as being caused by a faulty thermostat which results in fractures in the radiator. "this condition may be the result of excessive thermocycles within the cooling system caused by excessive cycling of the thermostat. These excessive thermocycles within the coolant system may cause the tubes to fatigue, crack and leak at the radiator headers. To correct this condition, a new thermostat has been designed that eliminates the thermostats excessive cycling. " the quoted cost to replace the radiator and thermostat at the dealer is $1800 gm has apparently extended the warranty to 100000 miles under a special coverage adjustment on the 2014 models, but not the other affected model years.

7 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact noticed radiator fluid leaking while the vehicle was stationary. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior to the failure. The contact took the vehicle to chuck nicholson inc (7190 OH-39, millersburg, OH 44654, (330) 473-4256), but they were unable to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 102,563.

9 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2018

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the vehicle was at jim norton Chevrolet (3131 n aspen avenue, broken arrow, oklahoma, 918-258-8000) for a routine oil change, the contact was advised by the mechanic that the condenser blew out and the radiator was fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

10 Radiator problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the vehicle was stationary, the radiator leaked fluid onto the ground. An independent mechanic was made aware of the failure and performed a pressure test, which revealed that the radiator fractured from the top left corner. A dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in recall. The failure mileage was 55,200.
