The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The vehicle was purchased in March of 2009. Since that time, the vehicle accelerates suddenly. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer on four occasions. On one occasion, while slowing down for a traffic light at 20 mph, the vehicle proceeded to move forward while the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle stopped when the ignition was turned off. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failures; however, they installed a device that should be able to read the electronic activities. The contact is concerned that he might crash into another vehicle due to the unexpected acceleration. The manufacturer filed report number 71-7284 and stated that the report will be closed because the failure was intermittent. The failure mileage was 2,000 and current mileage was 5,000.
