The dash has cracked in two places. One of them is located at the air bag.
The dash is cracking in 2 spots. This seems to be a safety hazard during an accident and when the airbag is deployed.
The dash has cracked at the top right corner of the airbag on the passenger airbag. Nothing was done to cause the crack. It wasn't there one day and then it was there the next day.

Like thousands of other people (and a previous Chevrolet of mine), my dash board has spontaneously cracked over night in cold weather near the passenger airbag. My vehicle is only 3 years old and this should be replaced under warranty and/or a safety recall. Due to it being outside its 36k warranty, gm will not repair it.
The dash is cracking there are loose pieces of plastic over the air bag and over the instrument panel.
The dashboard is cracked at the passenger airbag and directly above the instruments/steering wheel.
Cracked front dash between airbag and window defrost vent, possible airbag deploy issue. Check engine light illuminates when first engine start or during use on my lml engine: repeat failing glow plugs, repeat nox sensor and def issues. There have been failing oat sensors, failed driver seat cooling fan(s), defective airbag deploy issue due to possibly poor connector seating. Engine glow plug usully occurs at or near initial startup. Nox fails when underway or near startup. Seat cooling failures have occurred twice. Driving is both city street and highway operation. Glow plug failures usually wherever I initiate startup. Dash crack, possibly affecting airbag deploy has not been warranted, rather, gm wants me to subsidize the repair/replacement of the dash.

The interior dash is cracking. The cracks are severe around the airbag and instrument cluster. Based on my research, this is a problem with thousands of chevy vehicles 2007-2013. The cracks around the airbags are a definate safety hazard if the airbags deploy. Sharp plastic pieces of the dash could act as projectiles. This appears to be a design problem with chevy's dash.

Passenger side dash, on left engine compartment side has cracked from the airbag compartment to the defrost air duct. The concerns are 1) impaired/failure of passenger airbag in crash, 2) exposure to sharp dash cracks which could increase injury in a crash, 3) safety of occupants inadvertently being injured by sharp edges of dash crack, 4) resale value.
The dash around the airbag is cracked. This is very common on 2007-2013 gm vehicles. It is clearly a manufacturers defect, considering nine times out of ten they are broken. The dash is cracked to the point where if the airbag went off, I would not feel safe, in fear of shrapnel coming from the dash being in front of the inflating air bags. Local dealer offered no fix, aside from an over $1,000 out of pocket repair. This is unacceptable.
Cracked dashboard once was replace. Paint crack. Door latch.
Dashboard cracked on the left side of driver's wheel towards windshield.
My dashboard started cracking and I went to the dealer and got told it was only a cosmetic problem. I seen hundreds of gm trucks with the same problem. I always used the windshield sun shield and only cleaned it with a damped cloth as per manufacture's recommendation. As of right now I am scared that if the airbags get activated they will make the dashboard fall apart in a crash. All this projectiles could injure the driver and the passenger since they are sharp and could fly at high speed.
My dashboard cracked at the corner of the air bag and appears there may be an issue with flying projectiles of plastic if the air ever deploys.
Dashboard is cracked above the instrument panel and the corner of the passenger side airbag. This is a known persistent problem with gm vehicles. Got quoted over 700 dollars to replace it.
Like many other Chevrolet silverado owners my dash is cracked in two places; one above the instrument cluster and the other right next to the passenger side airbag. What's the most concerning to me is the crack next to the passenger side airbag, because if it ever deployes the shrapnel from broken dash will be deadly projectiles that can seriously injure or kill the occupants. This truck has only 54000 miles. I believe general motors should recall or compensate the owners of these defective trucks and suvs. The way it happened was when I got in my truck one day I had a crack and a week or two later, I had another. Another annoying part of is my truck is it is equipped with diesel engine with increased vibration and when the weather gets cold there is loud rattling or rubbing that resonates through the whole cab because of the cracks on the dash.
The dash is cracking on all 2007 up models of silverado and tahoe. I had sliced my finger when reaching for my phone is how I found out. The issue is the sharp edges are right next to air bag. So now I am worried that if I do get into accident either the air bag will get punctured and or shards of razor sharp dash are you to cut me and possibly be very severe. Please just do a google search online and you will find thousands of these type issues with the dash. Please help the dealer is not doing anything for many people and now my wife is worried to even drive in truck that I cannot replace at this time.
