265/75r16 9100 miles driven mostly on pavement with loads well within the vehicle capacity and never off road. Tires were rotated several months prior, about 100 miles ago and damage was not noted. Bubble appeared on sidewall which was noticed while parked; tire shop dismounted the tire to inspect for possible causes and found nothing to explain damage (run flat, left deflated, road hazard damage). Secondary bubble slightly smaller on inside at same location. Smaller bubbles were felt inside tire and a longer, slight bubble follows the bead 1/3-1/2 of the diameter of the tire. Shop manager refused to remount tire due to risk to employees of catastrophic failure, indicating the tire poses significant safety risk if vehicle had been at highway speed and completed its deterioration. Mate to this tire on right rear shows same smaller bubble above the bead about 1/3 of tire diameter.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The vehicle is equipped with federal couragia a/t tires, size 33512. 50r/20lt (na). The contact stated that the sidewalls of the tires contained bubbles. The tires were not replaced and the manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unavailable. The tire failure mileage was 103,000 and the vehicle failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
This is an RV trailer tire. Sidewall has separated from the tread. Sidewall is torn along what appears to be polyester cord along entire circumference of the tire about 2 inches from the tread. The tire is a goodyear marathon st235/80r 16 load range e. Blowout occurred at 45 mph on blacktop. Tire pressure carefully maintained at spec 80psi. Absolutely no overload issues. Tire smoked profusely but no fire.

I own a 2002 chevy Silverado 2500 on which I have four michelin ltx m/s 245/75-16 tires. After 18 months and 10,000 miles the sidewalls began to crack. I have michelin tires on all four of my vehicles and have never had one crack even on 6 year old tires. I called michelin, but they say that is normal weathering. Now they are cracking to the point that the tread could easily separate. My tire dealer is going to replace them, but michelin will not reimburse them as michelin denies there is a problem. I see from online blogs that sidewall cracks in this tire are appearing all over the country and michelin is stonewalling it. This is a life threatening situation which should be investigated.

I just noticed the sidewalls of firestone steeltex tires ( size lt245/75r16 at load range e) cracking in a uniform circle about 2 inches in from the edge of the tread. It looks like they are cracking along a seam in the sidewall of some sort. I reviewed the warranty and it states that dry rot cracks are covered for 4 years from the date of purchase or if no proof of purchase exists, 4 years from the manufactured date the tires came as original equipment on a brand new 2003 Silverado 2500 pick up truck that I purchased on April 5, 2003. I am assuming that date qualifies as the date of my purchase of the tires. I had the local firestone dealer in haysville, north carolina look at them and his position is that since the tires were manufactured between 20000 and 2002, the warranty no longer applies. These people are selling tires that are unsafe and prone to sidewall failure and then will not do anything to correct the problem.
