I purchased a brand-new Chevrolet dually truck from bomnin Chevrolet dadeland in miami, florida. Since delivery, the vehicle has had serious unresolved defects and safety concerns. The truck has ongoing alignment issues that the dealership has been unable or unwilling to properly repair. The vehicle does not drive correctly and there are concerns regarding safe operation while hauling. In addition, a major issue has now developed involving the rear passenger door. The rear door does not properly close and latch securely. This creates a serious safety concern because the door may open unexpectedly while driving. I brought these issues to the dealership under warranty, but the problems remain unresolved. I was also informed that the dealership could not properly perform the alignment on the dually truck. This vehicle was sold new and should not have these defects. I am filing this complaint due to concerns about vehicle safety, defective components, and inability to obtain proper warranty repairs.
Issue: tailgate unlatches unexpectedly erratic behavior consistent with electronic release switch malfunction I am reporting a safety concern involving the tailgate on my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 hd. The tailgate exhibits erratic behavior and has unlatched unexpectedly without user input. I can support this claim with documented video evidence I took while the vehicle was parked. This condition is consistent with the defect described in general motors safety recall n232426400, which involves water intrusion into the tailgate exterior electronic release switch, potentially causing a short circuit and unintended tailgate opening. Although my vehicle is not included in the recall population based on VIN, it is the same model year, platform, and equipped with the same power-unlatching tailgate system. The failure mode I am experiencing matches the recall description exactly. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis. The dealership acknowledged familiarity with this issue and indicated they have observed similar failures on other trucks outside the recall VIN population. However, because my VIN is not included in the recall, I was told the repair would not be covered. General motors offered only minimal goodwill assistance, and I was required to pay for the repair. This condition presents a safety risk, as an unlatched tailgate can allow cargo to exit the vehicle and create a roadway hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. I am submitting this complaint because the defect appears to extend beyond the currently identified VIN population, and I believe additional vehicles may be affected.

On April 13, 2026, I experienced two safety-related malfunctions while driving my 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 ltz on a two-lane highway in light rain. At approximately 6:24:05 pm, the windshield wipers stopped in the upright position for about 2–3 seconds while the vehicle was in motion, causing a temporary loss of forward visibility. At approximately 6:26:56 pm, while traveling around 65 mph, the forward collision/adaptive cruise system falsely detected a vehicle in my lane when none was present and applied sudden, hard braking without driver input. This caused a noticeable forward pitch of the vehicle. At approximately 6:27:13 pm, the system again indicated a vehicle ahead when there was none. Road conditions were wet, and this unexpected braking created a risk of loss of control or a rear-end collision. The systems involved include the windshield wipers and forward collision/adaptive cruise control. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lamps prior to these incidents. The only indication was a false vehicle detection displayed on the instrument cluster and heads-up display. These issues have not yet been reproduced by the dealer, as they were just reported to both the dealership and gm. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership to date. The truck also has ongoing issues, including frequent audio cutting out (6+ service visits, unresolved) and intermittent failure of the camera system to activate, which has been previously documented and not corrected. Dashcam footage is available for both incidents and can be provided for review. These issues appear intermittent and without warning, making them difficult to anticipate or mitigate during normal driving. The unexpected nature of both the wiper malfunction and unintended braking increases the overall safety risk, especially in adverse weather and highway conditions.

My 2021 chevy 3500hd diesel had the engine light come on and the service emissions system popped up in the info screen. It said in so many miles speed would be limited. I took it to the dealer and they said the def tank would need replaced because the tank wiring connector overheated and would cost me over $2k.

Email subject I am reporting a serious safety-related defect involving sudden and complete vehicle shutdown while driving in a 2024 Chevrolet silverado ev rst. Component/system involved: the failure appears related to the 12-volt electrical system and associated vehicle control electronics. When the vehicle detects the 12v battery as dead or critically low, it immediately disables propulsion and control systems. The exact failed component is unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Incident description: this failure has occurred twice under similar conditions (ambient temperature approximately 25°f). On November 28, 2024 and again on January 2, 2026, after driving approximately two blocks at low residential speeds, the vehicle abruptly and completely shut down while in motion. In both incidents, the shutdown was immediate, without warning, and accompanied by a loud thud and an extremely abrupt stop. Safety risk: in both incidents, the vehicle became completely immobilized in the roadway. I was unable to steer to the side of the road, restart the vehicle, or shift it into gear to move it out of traffic. This created a significant risk of collision. A similar failure at highway speeds could result in a severe or fatal crash. Warnings or prior symptoms: no warning lamps, messages, alerts, or other symptoms appeared prior to either shutdown. Problem confirmation or reproduction: the issue has occurred twice under cold-weather conditions. Inspections: after the first incident, the 12v battery was inspected and no issues were found. Following the second incident, the vehicle is currently being inspected at a Chevrolet dealership. No police or insurance inspections were performed. This behavior suggests the vehicle lacks a fail-safe or degraded-operation mode for 12v system failure and instead performs an immediate shutdown while in motion, which may represent a serious safety defect warranting investigation.

Onstar module is broken.
When pulling my trailer with my 2024 chevy 3500, I get the following alert displayed on my screen periodically: trailer brakes disabled service required. The trailer brakes stop working on my 16000lb trailer and I need to pull off the road and shut off the truck, and then restart it to get my brakes working again. The dealer replaced the brake controller in the truck, but I still get the message. I towed this trailer across country 2 times in my 2020 chevy without a problem. I have hydrastar brakes on my 2022 keystone montana. Gm said it's a problem with the trailer. Hydrastar said they have had numerous reports from 2024 gm truck owners. I am bringing it back to the gm dealer Monday for an oil change but I was informed they have no further information to guide them please assist.
As I was driving I heard a loud slam under my hood and when I checked the clutch for my ac compressor was gone. The ac no longer works and I have no idea where the parts went. When I looked this up it appears to be a common issue.

We were towing our 2025 brinkley z3100 fifth wheel and had a complete loss of trailer brakes with no warning or notification during a trip to and from the tennessee mountains from florida. Had we not noticed the poor stopping ability it would have been an issue on any downhill grades as the trailer is in excess of 14,000 lbs. We stopped didconnected and reconnected the 7 pin connector and brakes were restored. This happened 4 times. We have made an appointment with the service department at davis Chevrolet in gainesville florida however the service writer (paul) has already indicated that he feels it is a trailer problem with the interaction of the trailer. Internet searches show this is a common problem with the gm products and a service bullitin has been issued for years 2023-2024. Ours is a 2025 with the identical issues. I think there could be many many more of these out there and hope the issue can be resolved. I can reproduce the problem and it meets the full description of the service bullitin 6379278.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and towing a trailer or an RV, the brake pedal was depressed, and the trailer brake failed to engage. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact stated that the manual trailer brake was able to activate, and the trailer brake engaged to slow the trailer or the RV. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the tow hitch wiring harness needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the tow hitch was factory installed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

Our tailgate would open on its own intermittingly. We haul our fifth wheel camper and this could cause damage to the RV and our vehicle. There have been recalls on one year older trucks and one year newer but not for the 2021chevrolet silverado. A Chevrolet dearlership in florida looked at it for us. They said cause : checked for codes and bulletins. Found code b153d. Completed circuit check. Also found tailgate hatch out of adjustment. Corrctionj: rec. Replace switch and adjust latch. We were charged $486. 05 for this. We feel this should be a recall problem. Please advise.
?rear window with small power WI down leaks ?over time, it will get worse and cause mold, in turn makes it a healthy hazard ?yes, the problem has been reproduced by an independent facility ?it has not been inspected by dealership but when informed of the situation, they stated they knew there was an issue and referred me to a window specialist ?there were no warning lamps.
The contact owned a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 commercial vehicle. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 21v496000 (equipment) and 23v047000(fuel system, diesel) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list because the vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was contacted.

Known recall. Heating elements on the rear windows cause the window to explode. They said they remedied the recall in 2020 but it just happened when my husband started driving out of the driveway after remote start and warming the car. If a child or pet would have been in the back seat or he was in traffic, it could have caused harm to others.

Consistent error messages when trailering that lead to vehicle having a failure of trailer brakes.
July 20, we were driving the 2021 3500hd to church w/our single axle trailer w/mower on it when we were stopped at a yield sign and proceeded to pull forward, our truck made a loud boom noise and immediately stopped. Warning lights on the dash began coming on, when the gas pedal was pressed it made a loud rpm sound of engine revving, following by barely coasting action. We were able to drift into the turn lane & get out of danger. We had to be towed to capital Chevrolet bc something isn't functioning properly. Dealership said they believe it's transmission related and the power train warranty should cover repairs needed. We have tow receipt and gas receipts for rental vehicle.
The 2nd stage of this truck was not completed and the title was done in fraud in 2015 by jon hall chevy in daytona. I need this inspected as it shouldn't be on the road. Only 1 mco without water marks on it. This is a 2 stage truck should have 2. But nope only one we are getting the run around.

While towing my 5th wheel RV trailer, the rear wheels locked up numerous times while at highway speeds(60-70mph). Hope our didn't cause any internal/ structural damage to my trailer. Scheduled a service with the dealer(gamblins Chevrolet, enumclaw, wa) for them to diagnose. The dealer found no issue or cause. Left the dealer for the same thing to occur the following week. Brought back to the dealer for this issue and others to determine the torque converter had failed, dealer replaced converter, at a later date rear wheels locked up at highway speeds again. Been ongoing with no solution.
The onstart module stopped working, no internet or gps conection is working, also the emergency call system is disabled, onstart systems is disabled due the telematic control module fault. .
No owners manual came with my truck. I was made aware of safety recall 25v815 (manufacturer recall n252532020) which addressed 2025-2026 cars and trucks. Currently my 2024 is not included. I can confirm my dealer did not receive any owners manuals for most cars and trucks in 2024. I notified Chevrolet customer service and they did not assist. They dealer was unable to assist and would not reimburse me for the owners manual I purchased. I am requesting reimbursement for the purchase of an owners manual.
Back window or back cab cover seal is defective and caused water to leak in the cab and soak the carpet in the entire floorboard there are water stains on the headliner mold growing under back storage compartment. There are numerous other reports of this issue on different internet forums. I have the truck at the shop with gm saying they will cover 25% of the costs. I feel this to be a manufacturer defect. This isn't caused by normal wear and tear.

I believe my def heater has stopped working and my full def tank is now frozen. I’m now stranded in the middle of south dakota in -29 degree weather. My truck will not drive. Or idle for the heater to keep me warm because the def is required for engine to run.
Bought the truck in 2021. Replaced both outside mirrors during warranty. At about 44000 miles the passenger mirror malfunctioned again. The mirror resets to downward position and when you restart vehicle you need to readjust mirror each time. This is very dangerous especially while pulling the 5th wheel. Received a warning lite for a safety restraint failure. Took the truck to the dealer and was told the passenger side air bag was defective and it was a $1700 repair! defective at 44000 miles? are air bags only supposed to last such a short time? this is a serious safety issue that should be addressed and covered by all manufacturers warranties!.
46000 miles and the oil pan rotting from the salt on the roads I have an extended warranty no one wants to cover the warranty it has 100000 power train warranty and no one wants to be responsible for it.
Airbag and steering wheel problems. Neither driver's nor passenger's airbag deployed in a major crash. Our truck was hit by a fully loaded dump truck, speed unknown. Our driver had "mustang sign," bruising to chest. Passenger had seatbelt bruising. No warning lights or other indication was present to indicate that there was any problem with the airbags. We are the original owners and there was no previous use of, nor work done on the airbags. Steering wheel collapsed onto driver's legs, which we were told is common for adjustable steering wheels. Vehicle was totaled and is at junk yard. We have requested the collision report and can provide upon request.

The truck started shifting hard. Had it towed home. Then towed to dealership. They diagnosed it with a faulty tcm #24256861. Then said it could be up to 18 months for the part. This is unacceptable in our opinion. Additional expenses, time missed from work, etc.

We have a 2022 grand design imagine 22mle and when we tow it with the truck we are getting the intermittent message on the dash that the trailer brake wiring is not connected. It continually connects and disconnects as we tow and press the brakes on the truck. We previously towed the camper with a 2011 silverado 1500 and did not have this happen. We took the truck back to the dealer for a service check and they had no answered for us. This is a serious safety concern while we are towing an extra 6,000 pounds behind us.
Truck was parked, windows up with the key/fob partially inserted into the ignition. Spare key/fob was approximately 2 miles away. Mid afternoon on Saturday I could hear a vehicle start run for a few seconds and shut off. I assumed it was a neighbors vehicle. This occurred at least 5 times and it peaked my interest. It was my truck starting on its own. I went outside and opened the drivers door… the radio stopped playing and the dash went dark. It has not repeated since Saturday. Mileage 41256. Approximately 3 months ago the radio would automatically scroll/change channels…gm said it was not covered under warranty. So I decided to let it go. About 3 weeks ago the radio started working okay.
The touchscreen malfunctions intermittently. My vehicle currently has 36,687 miles and this problem has persisted for a while and is getting worse. It has been to the dealer several times and has been reprogrammed. The dealer now is telling me they don’t know what to do. The problem is the touchscreen develops a mind of its own and it starts calling people of the phone contact list or my personal favorite is the radio turns itself on at almost full volume. At other times it tries to contact onstar when not needed or it mutes the phone call. It’s bad enough that I’m no longer able to use hands free calling in my vehicle. All of these actions either scare you as it is not expected or they require you to take you’re eyes off the road to shut off the radio, unmute the call, or to cancel the call. P. S. To me it does appear to be worse the warmer it is.

The rear camera on this truck and many others is faulty. It is too blurry and foggy on a readily see anything in it. These have been made a required safety item, and what is the point of it if it is junk within 2 years on a 70k vehicle and is useless.
Driving my truck, without a trailer, the "service trailer brakes soon" fault came on my truck. This is a known problem that gm is aware of with their itbc system for years & have done selective recalls for. This a hazard to the motoring public. There is no warning when this fault happens while pulling a trailer & when it does pop up, you lose all trailer brakes. I had the same problem with my 2010 silverado, after numerous visits to the dealership & thousands of dollars & filed complaints with gm & NHTSA, nothing was done. When taken to the dealership, if the fault isn't on the screen, they claim they can't find or fix the problem. I pull a 10,000 pound 5th wheel, I need trailer brakes when I apply them.
