The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The contact discovered that there was a recall for the 2001 silverado with the same engine, but not for the Suburban. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was 92,000 and failure mileage was 70,000.

2 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2003

Vehicle shuts off on freeway with no advance warning causing loss of power to brakes, steering and all other components. Incident happened on more than one occasion. Dealer could not duplicate or repair problem.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2002

When the consumer slowed the vehicle down to make a turn, the engine shut off.
