Three problems related to other fuel system have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The bolts that hold the exhaust manifolds down are breaking off at the heads and causing exhaust leaks. Which are in turn causing my catalytic converters fail prematurely. I hope gm fixes this massive problem with there LS v8 engines!.
2001 chevy Suburban with vortec 5. 3 l engine. During hot days or warm engine, the throttle sticks in "idle" position, requiring significantly heavier pressure on the accelerator pedal resulting in a sudden and uncontrollable acceleration when it releases for the stuck "idle" position. This event occurs at irregular intervals, on the vortec 5. 3 engine, as a relative has a similar problem with the chevy pickup and the same 2001 5. 3 vortec engine.
Engine shuts off during first initial run. If I leave the house and get to the stop sign. It will shut off. Even after the first few minutes of driving when I try to turn it will shut off. After the engine runs a while it operates normally.
