Seat Belt problem #1

When the air temperature is in the single digits the seat belt buckles do not latch or unlatch when pulled on. I thought my seat belt was latch no warning sounds indicating that it was not latch, but when I went to reach for something on my dash it unbuckled. When temperature is above 9f degrees buckles work fine. Both driver and passager side seat belt buckles do not work properly when it is cold out. Just wondering if others have brought this up.

Seat Belt problem #2

I went to put my seatbelt on and the cable broke at the anchor point between the door and base of the seat.

We are an insurance carrier. Our insured driver rear ended another vehicle. There were no passengers in his vehicle. 20 minutes or so after the accident the passenger side seatbelt area caught fire. No one was in the vehicle, the police officer was able to put out the fire. The side of the seat , door and floor near the seatbelt is burned.

Seat Belt problem #6

Both rear passenger seat belts have stopped recoiling and are useless at this point. Chevy has told me that this 2015 vehicle is out of warranty. This is totally unacceptable and dangerous. I believe that this is a manufacturing defect.

Seat Belt problem #7

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. While driving approximately 5 mph out of the dealer, the vehicle jolted and the stabilizer indicator illuminated. The steering lost power and caused the vehicle to steer left and right. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a large pole. The technician from the anderson Buick GMC dealer (1001 bowens mill rd, sw, douglas, GA 31533) ran to the scene and drove the vehicle to the shop. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was damaged, but was not totaled. There were no injuries. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to repair the vehicle without a warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v651000 (air bags, seat belts). The failure mileage was approximately 56,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Seat Belt problem #8

Back passenger side seat belt(bench extreme back) would not retract. A child was trapped(12 yr old) in the back seat of this new 2015 Suburban SUV. The seat belt was somehow wrapped along the stomach and hooked on the seat, while taking out the belt, it was stuck around the stomach tightly and would not retract back. It was so tight around the stomach and child could not breath properly. I think this is design malfunction where the seat belts would not retract. There was another seat belt in the same car which was completely out of the seat belt winding system, this would not retract at all. This car was taken from a national rent a car center.
