Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problems of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Two problems related to navigational (global positioning system) gps have been reported for the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2019

Loss of gps, onstar, xm and compass function. Water has leaked into the roof mounted shark-fin antenna. Vehicle has lost compass, gps, onstar and xm capabilities. Dealer recommends replacing roof mounted antenna. Despite this being a known problem acknowledged by Chevrolet in sb-10058785-9942 this VIN was not included and customer will be charged out of pocket for antenna replacement.

2 Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2018

Water is leaking into roof mounted antenna and is preventing onstar system to determine location of vehicle by disabling compass, xm radio system, navigation. A red x appears under the gps symbol in the display unit when the vehicle is on, moving, and stationary. If you lift on the sharkfin roof antenna over the driver's seat water runs out. This is identical to the problems in NHTSA id number: 10058785; however gm tells me that my vehicle VIN is not covered under that issue id.
