The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the forward collision avoidance system activated and abruptly applied the brakes, dramatically reducing speed of the vehicle. Later, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the adaptive cruise control activated, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated, requiring the contact to depress the brake pedal to avoid a collision. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The forward collision avoidance warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the forward collision avoidance warning light and the adaptive cruise control module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 28,000.
