Speed Control Linkage problems of the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe

The engine began accelerating on its own, it continued to get faster and faster, techometer red lined. Had to ram the gear into park in order to stop the car.

While driving and without warning vehicle suddenly accelerated. To gain control of vehicle driver put vehicle in neutral, and applied extreme pressure to accelerator pedal. Vehicle not included in recall 96v057000 due to VIN.
