Routine check on brakes for my 2001 chevy Tahoe found at meineke car care center that my aluminum calipers on rear of brake system were locked in place wearing the rear brakes out. The front brakes were 40% used. Informed by lee, manager, this is a problem with this type caliper, uneven wear and locking up. Jb.
I have a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with an abs brake module failure. The motor/pump that controls the abs brakes won't turn off. It keeps running even when the ignition is turned off. My abs light turns on and abs brakes are now not operative. I read many complaints on this issue on 2001 model chevy/GMC full size SUV/pickups. I think this is a safety concern that should be addressed immediately to prevent accidents and deaths due to abs brake failures.
While driving at normal speed consumer applied the brakes, and there were no brakes. An independent repair shop replaced all four rotors. Consumer paid $1,200. 00 for repairs.
