After heavy rain I noticed that both of my back doors sounded like there was a gallon of water inside of them. I read that this is a very common issue! I can only imagine the amount of rusting happening inside of there as well as electrical damage & risks of having wet speakers & wiring inside the door. Unacceptable. This should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. While the vehicle was stationary, the dashboard began to fracture near the seam of the passenger air bag. The contact noticed a severe fracture along the instrument panel. Premier Chevrolet of buena park in buena park, California was made aware of the failure and took pictures of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and provided the contact with case number: 8-3301312480. The failure mileage was 48,000.
The dash board in the vehicle has 2 cracks in it. Could be a safety hazard involving the airbags. One crack is located at the curve of the instrument panel on the gear selector side and the other is located on the passenger side. I recently purchased the vehicle and the cracks were already there. I know that this is a popular problem and I believe that gm has profited greatly from the sales of these vehicles and should take responsibility for the integrity of their product.

The contact also noticed a fracture on the driver's side dashboard of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. Takata recall I just notice a crack on the left top side of my dashboard a day after I brought my vehicle to get service at bical Chevrolet dealer. I return to get answers and the dealer told me it's a known issue for these type of vehicle and they will not pay for the repair. I call Chevrolet gm (case # 8-2129107909) and they told me this was the first time hearing about this issue and will no pay for the repair. Personally I think this is wrong and there should be a recall or some type of repair for vehicles that are currently crack in the same places on the dashboard especially long side passenger airbag. I would like something be done about my dashboard where I don't have to pay for it.
The passenger side front interior chrome door handle has begun peeling which results in a sharp edge on the door handle which results in minor cuts on human hands when a person pulls on the handle to open the door. This is the same issue experienced with 2007 chevy Tahoe which resulted in NHTSA ea 10004. Nhtsa ea 10004 resulted in Chevrolet extending warranty on this issue for 100,000 miles or 10 years. I contacted Chevrolet about this issue with 2010 Tahoe and they are not willing to extend the warranty on this model without NHTSA enforcement. The driver side front handle had the same problem in 2012. Gm fixed that handle for free because car was under 36,000 mile / 3 year warranty. Online search reveals that other post- 2007 model Tahoe owners are having same issue. Since issue is with door handle, vehicle is stationary when door handle is used.
Major cracks (3) on dashboard. . . . . One is over 8 inches poor quality!!! I was thinking buying a pick up silverado truck but not with these issues.
Dash. Cracked on drivers side and also passenger side. Then a larger cracked appeared going higher up over the control panel. The year after we purchased this vehicle new, we kept hearing a rattle. As time went on the noise increased and the hairline crack became larger. We have had to insert a foam piece to control the rattleling. Our so. Has a 2010 chevy Tahoe and has the same issue.
Chrome on inside door handle has peeled and is cutting fingers when you open the door.
The passenger door handle broke from the screw housing and not the handle itself. Chevy's response: pull too hard on door handle, $ 200 repair cost to replace handle. The dashboard in front of the steering wheel started cracking and running towards the steering wheel. Chevy's response: some time the heat will do that. $ 950 repair cost for new dashboard. My Tahoe is in top shape, washed twice a week inside and out and is garaged? I don't know why the simple things are so cheap?.
