Dashboard Crack problems of the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe - part 1

1. I came out to go to work and the dash board had cracked and it is progressively getting worse. The crack is above the speedometer and on the passenger side near the air bag. 2. Water is leaking in the passenger head board causing water to leak in the seat belt and wet it.

Dash has multiple cracks.

Dash has cracks in two locations. Most concerning where passenger airbag meets dash. Cracks found when car was not stationary and is garaged nightly.

Dash board cracked for 3rd time on drivers side. Gm will not cover now as its out of warranty. Drivers side motor mount broken. Known issue.

Cracked dash- I found the dash of my 2010 Tahoe cracked by the passenger air bag and above the instrument cluster. Upon doing research I found that numerous other chevy owners are experiencing the same issue and gm continues to deny that it is an issue with their vehicles and do a recall even though they all crack in the same areas.

My 2010 chevy Tahoe has developed a crack in the upper dash area between the passenger side air bag and the defrost outlet. There was no outside influence that caused the crack and I'm very concerned that this is a safety issue in the event of an accident.

I bought a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe in December 2012 less than 2 years after I bought this vehicle the dashboard started cracking in two place-driver side and passenger side. This is a safety issue due to the location of the air bags. There are a lot of complaints about this issue from Tahoe owners. This is a safety issue for everyone riding in the vehicle. This needs to be a recall.

The dashboard has cracked in two places. Next to the airbag and above the steering wheel. I am concerned that this creates a safety hazard in the event of a collision where the dashboard will separate and create flying projectiles. I am also concerned that if the airbag deploys, the dashboard will break apart and create flying projectiles. I noticed the cracks on 4/16/2017.

In addition, the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The dealer stated that the part was unavailable and did not know when it would arrive. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and indicated that there was no warranty or recall, and suggested that the dealer repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.

The dash board is cracking and falling apart. The vehicle is parked inside the garage daily. For what these vehicles cost, the dash shouldn't be falling apart. Very sad on gm's part.

I have two cracks on the dash of my 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe 4d 4x4 ltz one is half way up my instrument panel side the other goes to the corner of my airbag opening.

The dashboard is cracking in multiple places. The cracks are getting worse with time. This could cause fragments of sharp plastic to be launched into the vehicle in the event of an accident. Airbag deployment may also be compromised.

The dash board has cracked at the airbag cover over on the passenger side, also on the driver side dash it has cracked and beginning to create a hole. I'm just now finding that there has been other complaints on this and other chevy models.

My dash is cracked! this is a defect and should be a recall. I want to get this fixed before it totally falls apart. The vehicle was parked when I noticed it.

Dashboard cracked in two (2) places- am worried if air back goes off, shrapnel will fly through inside and injure or kill the passengers.

Dashboard near windshield is cracking and making noise. It's the panel near the windshield inside the vehicle and goes around the air bag. The material used to make the panel is weak and may explode if airbag goes off on passenger side.

There are stress cracks in a faulty dashboard that has had no blunt force. These cracks are located at the instrument cluster and airbag compartment. The vehicle was parked overnight outdoors in the cool air, and the cracks appeared sometime after the defroster or possibly the heat of the day warmed the vehicle.

The dashboard has 2 cracks in it that randomly showed up, 1 in at the top left corner on the pasenger side by the air bag and the other the top left side of the drivers side above the instument panel and its getting larger by the day.

The dashboard has developed cracks that will become flying shards of hard plastic if the airbag deploys.

The dashboard of my 2010 Tahoe cracked around 55k miles in 2015 while driving. It seems like this defect is due to the amount of vibration/usage of vehicle, since most notice damage after 50k miles regardless of how long they've owned it or its exposure to the sun.

Dash cracked by the passenger side air bag. The crack made a noticeable pop sound when the crack appeared while driving on a city street.

This the 2nd time mine dashboard has cracked on paassenger side of mine 2010 Tahoe. The 1st time serra Chevrolet fixed at no cost to me. This time that said that it would be over a $1,000 dollars. I do not think I should have to pay this, I park in mine garage. I would like to be able to go get it corrected at no cost to me. I just saw that it had happen, there were no accidents.

Driving along one day at 45 mph and the dashboard just cracked. Mine has cracked over the instrument panel. I have a friend who has the same crack as well as a crack over the air bag on the passenger side. The cracked dash is a known problem that needs to be corrected, I am also concerned what may happen if the air bag goes off with what is obviously a brittle dash.

Garage kept Tahoe has cracked dashboard above instrument panel and passenger side airbag. If car was in an accident, shards of sharp plastic could injure passengers. This is a common issue in gm vehicles. Gm should have a recall to replace the dashboard.

The dashboard cracked starting with the left corner of the passenger side airbag and continues across the dash all the way to the drivers side steering column. A small piece near the passenger side airbag fell into the dash and we are concerned that it could become a projectile if the airbag were to deploy. The crack appeared suddenly and has worsened over time. Parking/storing conditions of the vehicle have varied over time and no specific incident that we are aware of caused the crack.

I came out to start my car one day and noticed that my dash board cracked in two places. It seems like it happened over night theres a huge crack splitting into another one above my steering wheel and another crack on the crease of the passenger side air bag which is causing it to lift and looks like it could set off the airbag unexpectedly. Very dangerous especially as I have children in the car on a daily basis.
