Chevrolet Tahoe owners have reported 154 problems related to electronic stability control (under the electronic stability control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Tahoe based on all problems reported for the Tahoe.
While driving my 2007 chev Tahoe today, while in motion, the stabilitrak warning came up on my dash along with traction control warning. Then the engine started struggling. I googled these problems and it appears gm recalled models from 2014 and 2015 with the same issues. They need to recall all impacted models. If this causes the engine to lose power, it could cause a dangerous situation.

Sometimes the stable track system comes on and goes off causing the transmission and carter jerk and steer poorly too many complaints about this needs to be taken care of.
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was parked on moderately sloped driveway. Engine was not running. Vehicle transmission shifter was in "park" position. Vehicle spontaneously rolled back several feet, and crashed into another parked vehicle. Other vehicle also owned by me. Substantial damage to both vehicles. Not influenced by driver. After some research it is my belief the apparent problem with the transmission/software. I did find where there was a recall #14192 for this issue.

My traction and stabilitrak system will have random alerts that will go on and off for no reason. My dash has also cracked by front passenger airbag and my front driver's side and now makes cracking noises at times and now rattles when driving.

My issues started almost two years ago when dropping my child off at daycare. I was on the highway and noticed a loud ticking noise coming from the engine. At first I was not sure what it was until I pulled in the daycare and it was evident something was wrong. At that point the stablitrak and traction control light started flashing. I had to have the vehicle towed because I tried to move it and when I put it in gear it jerked so hard I was scared the engine blew. I took it to the certified chevy mechanic, cylinder 6 misfire. We replaced the plugs, coil packs etc, trying to see what the issue could be. He finally replaced all 16 lifters, cam, head gaskets and oil pump as well. Once he got it together, it was still a misfire on cylinder 6. He took it apart to look at the pistons, they were fine. The top of the motor he practically everything brand new on it. The chevy dealership are aware of the lifter issues with this vehicle and blatantly told me, I need a new engine or could purchase a new vehicle. Still no resolve as of June 23, 2020! please issue a recall on this as so many of these vehicles have this issue and it's not fair to us that they designed the engine so poorly.
The stablitrack off light came on. The door locks rapidly locked and unlocked. The engine was surging with loss of power. The radio was going off and on.

I have been dealing with the same problem as the previous complaint. . . Ironically, my vehicle was manufactured in TX too, but, I purchased it used in va in 2011 odometer-73,625. To date, I only have 101,225- I started having constant stabilitrack/traction control issues right after 100,000- caused steering wheel to lock up and loss of power in addition to door locks suddenly locking/unlocking, car alarm going off, and hazard blinkers not working (all while in the middle of rush hour traffic)! after this constant issue was "repaired"-for 6th time, a few months later, I experienced a different problem. After waiting at a stop light, the vehicle would not accelerate-I had to push gas all the way to the floor, barely reaching 20mph, then, the car started shaking & to make matters worse, the brakes were barely working. Thankfully, I was near a parking lot & was able to pull over. This time I think it is a bcm or pcs issue. It seems the "flex-fuel" 4wd 2007 Tahoes are having major issues. This should be constitute under lemon law. I am too scared to drive now-the car has been sitting in my driveway for a long time, yet I have to pay insurance & registration. I'm sick of wasting money as well. Please help us (2007 Tahoe owners), fix these issues! thank you.
Multiple issues effecting this vehicle, and the issues occur when stabilitrac issue and abs issue pops up on screen. A/c also stops blowing cold air, and speedometer reads zero while moving. The stabilitrac and abs issues first occurred multiple times starting in the early warranty period. The main concern is the power assist malfunctioning causing total loss of steering control. When power assist re-engages, the vehicle will jump in the direction the steering wheel is turned. This is a major safety issue. I repeat that these issues started to occur during the early warranty period in 2015. The dealer could not duplicate the issues. There are multiple posts on line concerning the problems with the 2015 Tahoe, some actually causing accidents.
While driving approximately after 30 minutes, the vehicle would have power issues causing erratic behavior. Example, while traveling on interstate at about 70mph the issues would happen when pressing the brakes or turning on a blinker, the vehicle's door looks cycled several times, it would create a startling pop immediately through the speakers, the radio cut off and restarted. While attempting to pull off interstate, the engine then started to stutter loosing power. Stabilitrack and abs lights came on. After safely pulled over, cut vehicle off. Restarted vehicle, no issues or power problems. Problem would then randomly happen. Random no power issues - like battery was disconnected. Tested batter - it was ok. Problem became sporadic and random. Dtc showed random issues with electronic brake control module (c0710 -steering position sensor), park assist module (u0073, b1325 - device power 1 circuit malfunction) and passenger presence system (b1000- ecu malfunction) identified grounds to be very bad condition at battery negative to engine and frame, and driver side under body ground at the frame.

The traction and stabilitrak controls are coming on and staying we haven't found the problem yet but I noticed there was a recall on both at one point.
Have owned since 2010. Have had the vehicle lose power while driving a couple of years ago. The throttle body was replaced. The vehicle idles rough (you can feel it idle but not all of the time). Dealership said they could not detect a rough idle issue. Later, another issue with the throttle body causing the check engine light and misfires in cylinder (have paperwork inside vehicle) replaced a sensor related to the throttle body. Last Friday, March 2, 2018 driving on a crowded downtown street the Tahoe began to idle rough again, to the point of the seat belts shaking and the engine sounded as if it were about to lose power again (been there done that). Arrived at work placed the vehicle in park and the traction control/stabilitrak message appeared that both were off, then the warning service traction control flashed then to service stabilitrak. I looked into the issue and called the dealer ship as well as the warranty folks telling them of the issue made appt for following day to bring in. Went to drive home, the check engine light is now on and the car is rocking and sounds like it might stall out in rush hour traffic. Limped the car to the closest dealer out of fear of an accident should the car shut down driving home. Researched online, found that this is an issue with a TSB issued # 11273 that noone has ever mentioned with the multiple times the vehicle has been repaired due to the issue listed in the bulletin that could have caused a devastating accident as I drive 5 - 6 kids to school every morning and can not imagine why this was not shared with me as an owner (registered with gms website with the VIN) so I am sure to receive updates for issues just like this, that no one has ever mentioned even though the repairs are identical to what is stated in the gm issued technical service bulletin # 11273.

All ip warning lamps illuminated, loss of power, stalling, gage fluctuation, intermittent door lock operation. Vehicle was in motion on highway when this occurred. Error codes include u0073, u0121m u0101, u0242 ( from dealership analysis). Cause unknown. Vehicle has been in dealership more than 7 weeks without cause of problem not isolated. Technician stated crackling sound when grasping wiring in dashboard area. Loss of communication between control module and various components occurs within one (1) to five (5) seconds. Chevrolet issued tech bulletin #08-07-30-021e. Dealership has followed this bulletin without correcting the problem.

On January 14th, 2018 I was driving from tulare, CA to my home in pixley, CA. Half way home driving on hwy 99 I experienced that my rpms would go down and my vehicle would slow down every so often. On dash screen I had a pop up that read, service stability control don't know what that means. Sometimes not being able to slow down (full control) I made it to pixley. Stopped at my sisters house, when leaving I was backing up and while backing up I noticed a mail box stand with 2 mailboxes on a steal stand. I did not have control on stopping the vehicle. I did some damage on the rear left hand side of my chevy Tahoe. I carefully drove the Tahoe to my home down the street, parked it and called chevy road side service. I also noticed that the break pedal moves side to side and the break lights stay on when in park. Luckily nothing happened to my family and I on our way home. Obviously the vehicle is unsafe to drive.
Driving on the highway and city street it has happened at least 3 times in the last couple months, the park assit, stabillity track and last night the steering assist came on along with other lite lights brake, abs which I have recorded on my phone. At the moment its at the dealer, per service advisor they " had the truck on drove it and has happened of now to them, requested to keep another day to recheck tomorrow.
Our Tahoe has had an issue over the past 9 months. The engine unexpectedly stalls. This has happened twice while pulling out on to a busy highway. Very frightening. We first took this to the dealer on 8/15/17. They spent hours trying to diagnose and found nothing. The stalling continued to happen occasionally. Early December the stalling occurred while pulling in to our garage. We lost all power momentarily and it would not restart this time. I disconnected the negative battery cable and then reconnected it and everything worked fine again. We took it back to the dealer on 12/8/17. Iafter researching this more it seems numerous people are having the same issue. Traction control warning comes on when the stall occurs. This time I was more insistent that they fix this and explained my wife was scared to death to drive this. This time the dealer said that they have changed the negative battery cable on other customers vehicles and that has fixed the problem. My reaction was why didn't you tell us this last time and why isn't there a recall? so far this has fixed the problem. I contacted gm and they did not give me a straight answer on this proble. Basically they said we may have had a defective part.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. After having the oil changed, the vehicle failed to start and the stabilitrak indicator illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 183,544.
Under numerous circumstances, the "service stablilitrak and service traction control " appears in the dash message center along with audible beeps. Shortly after this happens the vehicle engine goes into limp mode with limited power and speed. I have been on interstates with heavy traffic and this becomes challenging to remedy ASAP and get out of the way. The original part suggested was the throttle body, this was replaced and the problem seemed to go away for 12-16 month. The problem has come back and the throttle body is not suspect this time. The dealer bascially trouble shoots the problem with parts.
Takata recall has a recall on my vehicle airbags. When I hit a pothole on city street airbag came out, brakes locked up and stabilization and traction controlservice lights came on. Had to call for a tow truck. .
My 2013 Chevrolet ltz Tahoe began experiencing intermittent warnings that the abs and traction control systems were off at around 60k miles. By the time the vehicle tit 65k the failures became regular and are now lit constantly. These are safety features that safeguard the operator and passengers during hard/emergency braking or during weather with snow, ice and rain. These key safety systems now are non functioning and the vehicle is rather unsafe without them. This is a $70+ k vehicle and it has key safety features failing very early into its life. It is unbelivable that Chevrolet is not held to account by federal regulators for such significant safety failures. How many Tahoes are in serious accidents each year due to loss of abs braking and traction control loss?.
Stabilitrak and abs light comes on while driving, the door locks go crazy, radio goes in and out and you lose the ability to accelerate. Engine acts like it wants to die out. The first time I had it taken in, they said it was a sensor so I paid $600 to have it fixed. 6 months later it started doing the same thing so the same sensor was replaced again. One month later my Tahoe is doing the exact same thing and now the dealership says it's a short. I don't think they know what's going on and they are just trying different things to see if it works, so now I am out of pocket over $1000 for them to keep guessing what going on.
The problem is stated in technical service bulletin pip4568s & #10-06-01-008m that gm sent out regarding afn lifters failing due to oil starvation. Gm knows about this problem and sent out the information on how to diagnose it and fix it. However this is a known problem in the 5. 3l engines and a very expensive problem! in my situation it caused a soak plug and the spark plug housing to blow completely out of the engine! which could have injured someone or caused damage to something if it had gotten out of the engine compartment. I was on a major highway going 50 mph with high traffic. As stated this is a known problem and gm won't even cover any portion of the cost to fix it! in my case I only owned the vehicle for 4 months and had this happen. I am now paying for a vehicle that I can barely drive and shouldnt be driving! at any moment the whole engine could blow up but I have no choice but to drive it until I have the $4000 to fix it! gm should have to cover repairs or at least a portion of the cost of repairs! I have seen numerous complaints on the web regarding this problem from other owners of the vehicles effected by pip4568s & #10-06-01-008m. Yet gm will not help consumers in any way at all with the expensive cost of this repair! with the amount of complaints I have seen it should be a recall! there could be other safety issues that other owners could have had also. This known problem also effects other functions of the vehicle such as stabilitak system. When this system is malfunctioning the vehicle hits bumps and throws the vehicle off the road making steering the vehicle very hard to control. This an accident could occur.
Error message pop ups c01960. My abs light and brake light pops up while I'm driving almost daily now. My brakes feels as if their slipping when I try to directly stop or turn left. It scares me because my brakes system seems to feel like their locked or as if I'm sliding on ice and cannot stop. This is when the abs light and brake light will appear lit at the same time.

Reduced power to engine while driving on a highway.
Light on.
While driving vehicle continues to drop into reduced power mode causing a jarring motion as it drops a significant amount of speed, almost causing multiple accidents. The check engine light comes on, traction control turns off, stabillitrack turns off, and engine goes into limp mode and starts shaking and jarring. The same 2 codes continue to come up in diagnosis. P2135 and p2176. I have taken the vehicle to three mechanics 1 of them being chevy its self. With no solution found. I have had the acceleration pedal replaced, the wiring replaced, the ignition switch and relay replaced had the throttle body connector replaced, the throttle body and gasket replaced 3 times. I have done everything recommended by all shops including chevy. Please help as the truck has been in the shop more then it has been on the road and I have almost been in multiple accidents as the truck is difficult to control when the issue happens.
While driving the vehicle the stab trac warning pops up on the message window and we lose power. We have had it to the garage for the same problem multiple times and we have replaced multiple different things and it keeps coming back. As per online records of this vehicle it appears shelby does not know how to fix it either. I'm tired of just throwing parts at it and want to fix it permanently. Every time this problem occurs in a while we are driving at at least above species of 40 miles an hour and to be honest it's more of a safety hazard because it goes into limp mode and then you can only go 10 to 15 mph.
Stabilitrak comes on and locks the steering while driving. It has happened approx. 4 times and the dealership doesn't know why, nor have they resolved the problem. Water keeps getting in the vehicle and the dealership can't figure out where it's coming from either. They have tried 6 times.
Cylinder 1,3,5,7 in engine has misfires, this enging has the afm and tjevv4/v8 mode is wearing out the engines and causing them to fail. My engine has had the valve lifters fail. My engine now has a tapping sound, and after taking to garage they have informed me this is an ongping issue with this year of Tahoe and problem is very common and they said it is s bad design. I was driving 70mph on the highway when cylinders 13,5,7 started misfiring, car went from 70mph to less then 40 mph and started shaking and studderring, aslnost got tearended on the highway because of this. After garage inspected vehicle they have determined the valve lifters, cam shaft are bad in the engine and have cause the traction control and stabiltrack errors in my Tahoe. So now I have to get the engine rebuilt because of gm bad active fuel management design,(afm) I have been complaining of the issue since my Tahoe had been using a quart of oil every oil change.
When I start my car start my car it says service sevilla track and service airbag with in conjunction with this happening my wiper blades don't work and my cruise control does not work as well I've also noticed this happening on my mom's 2000 chevy Tahoe and on my previously owned 2001 GMC yukon I think it is across the board gm electrical problem.

Tahoe has been in the shop 9 times in one year, "service 4wd", "slow to 3mph to shift to 4wd low" and "service stabilink". Vehicle has tried to pull to the right while driving at highway speed, almost causing loss of control. GMC has replace several shorts in electrical system ( while never finding cause).

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving 20 mph making a left turn, the front driver side tire seized and the stability track warning sensor illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the tie rod fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v246000 (steering). In addition, the interior lighting illuminated randomly, the parking assist sensor beeped for 15 minutes, and the rear camera activated independently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Takata recall engine power reduced, stabilitrak needs servicing. I've replaced parts twice same problems again. Very dangerous. Ive seen numerous complaints of this. I need help. Vehicle will slow down and not accelerate.
Loss power while driving while going 75 mph on a highway, the. Car went to a limp mode from 75 to 15 mph in a couple of seconds time, almost was hit from behind. , door lock actuators start cycling, dash lights go on the blink, fail to start & cruise control loss of operation. Id for recall is 14v614, my VIN cuurently is not on the recall list, but I am experiencing the exact same system of safety issues et. .
My 2008 chevy Tahoe ltz electrical system would go through a series of phases either when I try to start it up during a cold day or when I am on the highway. This leads to my vehicle either not starting or while driving not being able to maintain speed because the transmission begin to slip. It can also die without warning and the "check engine light" would come on for a while and can disappear after starting up again. I have taken my vehicle to the same service adviser/manager each time I experience this problem and also called gmac to get them involved to be told that they can not duplicate this problem. When ever the codes are pulled, there could be at least 7 at a time. I called gmac went I experienced this for the fourth time and my case number was 71-1326091502 issued on 07/02/2014. Today my case number is 8-2552333596 which was issued on 11/30/2016. I had many other number in between and custom service personnel (gmac) attempt to assist me and the results in the past has been the same each time. However, my vehicle continue to be unsafe. I feel that no one really care but are going through the phases to say that they have done all they can do. My vehicle started to give me this problem at about 107,000 miles, right after my 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty expired which cost about $2400. 00. My vehicle also have a total of about nine plus (problem more) months in the shop at the Chevrolet dealership over time where I purchased this vehicle with no results at the end of each trip but it was taken back for the same thing each time. I feel as if every one is just coving themselves by mouth work whether than by actions. All I know is that this vehicle seem to be a "lemon" and no one has the courage to say so. My vehicle is at al serra Chevrolet north, colorado springs, CO. 80920. There # is (719) 867 2990. My # is 719-282 9771. Thanks for your time. Rev. Kb.

My truck was saying I had oil but I didnt by the stick. My stabilitrack and traction control light is on and it is running rough. The computer is reading a misfire in cylinder one. Got everything checked and I was told it is something inside the engine. I reafmd about alot of complaints on the same thing thats wrong with my truck. Their needs to be a recall on these engines with the amount of oil it consumes and damagjng the engine. . . Please tell me can you all help!!.
