1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/28/2020

Large fuel leak coming from line that rubs body above gas tank. Gas was pouring out causing a very hazardous condition. When noticed vehicle was stationary in a parking lot. Gm knows that there have been issues as there is a TSB # 17-na-304 dated September of 2017. A quick google search reveals dozens of like reports with one causing a complete loss of vehicle due to fire. This is of major concern as loss of life from this engineering failure is high. Children could be restrained in car seats in rear of vehicle just above fuel for fire.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 10/07/2020

Upon returning from work , my wife complained of a strong odor of fuel in and outside of the vehicle. After inspecting the engine, interior, and exterior of the vehicle a small running fuel leak was discovered beneath the vehicle on the driver side, immediately forward of the fuel tank . The leak left a small puddle of fuel under the vehicle, which continued to leak until fuel pressure dissipated 5-10 minutes later. Upon inspection by mechanics at my local gm dealer , it was found that a hole was worn into the fuel supply (pressure) line due to chafing and rubbing of the line against the structure (frame) of the vehicle . This problem occurred any time the vehicle was running, whether it was in motion or not. The problem occurred on 10/07/2020. The cause of this problem was due to the fuel line being insufficiently protected from chafing and vibration. The new fuel line came with a sleeve protecting the affected area. This appears to be an engineering deficiency on 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe models.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 09/10/2020

Fuel starts leaking from gas tank about 2 minutes into the car gets turned on.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 07/18/2020

The fuel is leaking from the top of the fuel tank. It only leaks if the vehicle is running. This an obvious safety hazard as the leaking gas is near the hot exhaust and electrical wires.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 05/08/2020

Tahoe is used to commute to owner's profession roughly 20 miles every week day. One day after driving home, Tahoe had strong fuel odor while sitting in owner's garage. It would then also have similar odor when initially starting the car. Brought the Tahoe to blasius Chevrolet in waterbury, CT. Tahoe is under 60,000 miles and still under powertrain warranty. They stated that "fuel line chewed threw buy (sic) mouse. " owner asked for a picture of the pinhole leak cause by the mouse. Image (which is attached) illustrates damage that could not possibly be caused by an animal. It is smoothly rubbed down and shows no chew marks and is in one specific spot. Dealer refused to use warranty to cover the repair, even though its not normal wear and tear, could not have been caused by an animal and not related to anything done to the car by owner. Only work that has been completed on the Tahoe has been by the dealership. This seems to be a recurring issue with 2015 Tahoes around the 60k miles mark. The fuel line is worn down by rubbing against something near the fuel tank. This is a manufacturing defect and expensive repair that should not be covered by the consumer considering a fuel line is not a part that should "get worn down" over time. Fuel leaking on the engine could have been catastrophic if it was not caught in time.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 11/09/2019

The vehicle is leaking gasoline from the tank. Suspect it is leaking from the fuel line on top of the tank--no holes or impact on tank apparent on the under side. In addition, the vehicle is still leaking oil from the drain pan even after re-sealed by dealer. This is all in addition to the a/c going out twice. . . . And new lifters in the engine.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 10/23/2019

The Tahoe used as our volunteer fire department medical truck was spewing fuel from above the gas tank. We dropped the tank and found the lines on the top of the fuel tank rusted severely to the point of failure. It was first noticed on a medical run with the engine idling.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/27/2019

Vehicle did not want to start when cold. Would take 2-3 times to get engine to turn over. After driving, the smell of gasoline was undeniable. Brought vehicle in to local mechanic and he discovered the fuel hose had chaffed and fuel was spraying out and puddling on top of fuel tank. He dropped fuel tank and replaced fuel line. Fuel line that was removed had no protection on it. Replacement part had a corrugated loom protecting fuel line. I am still in possession of damaged fuel line in question.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 06/13/2019

Fuel back flows out the gas tank on the ground no matter the fuel level. Fuel will dump onto the ground at varying degrees. Multiple reports by the forums. I will be submitting this link so others can post to prove this is not a one time thing.

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/31/2019

I drove my vehicle in the morning and then parked it for about 2. 5 hours. When I started my vehicle the gas gauge showed my car was empty, even though I had just recently filled up and had only gone about 80 miles on the tank, my airbag readiness light stayed on, and none of my gauges were functioning. Also, the light for the passenger air bag above my review mirror didn't illuminate at all. I drove it for a few seconds and tried turning it off and then back on, but nothing changed. After driving it for a few miles, I parked and turned the vehicle off again. When I turned it back on, everything began working again. I believe this is an electrical issue, but when taken to the dealership, I could not get it to replicate the issue. Besides the obvious danger of not having any gauges while driving, my fear is that the airbags would not work properly in an accident.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/28/2018

First the fuel gauge stopped working on and off would go to e when on full tank. Then check engine light came on days later. Then vehicle stopped running while driving, and would shut off. Engine would start and drive again, then stop running and shut off while driving. First time I was driving on hwy, then on city streets. Vehicle is in gm shop now, and they said it was the fuel pressure sensor. And they are replacing the part.

The fuel line rusted through where it exits the gas tank causing fuel to leak all over the top of the gas tank.

18 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 05/05/2015

Heavy gasoline fumes after vehicle driven a short distance. Fumes apparent at stops, sometimes while driving and parked. No trace of fumes or incipient leakage underhood, however there is weepage on the upper-inboard area of the tank itself. A very definite safety hazard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

19 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/13/2015

A steel fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine bay has started weeping. The dealer said that they all need replacement due to corrosion failure. The estimated cost $2300. 00 because the body must be lifted from the frame. This comes just a few months after the brake lines had to be replaced for the same reason and at a cost of $2200. 00. Obviously gm has installed low grade I. E. Low cost steel tubing on this truck.

20 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 09/08/2014

There are multiple cracks in the dashboard making it a safety hazard in the event of an airbag deployment there could be hazardous debris. When the vehicle is in motion the dash rattles and can be very loud. Secondarily there is also an issue with the fuel tank. The pump constantly stops itself not allowing you to put gas in the vehicle. We have tried different gas stations to see if the issue is isolated and this is not the case. No matter which gas station you choose the vehicle will stop the pump after a gallon or two.

22 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/22/2014

Traveling west on I-10 from houston to California. About 15 miles out of van horn TX going to el paso the car shut down. All the lights came on the dashboard and I could not steer the car. We got over to the shoulder (it was a struggle). The car was dead. Would not do anything. Called for help. About 15-20 min. Later tried to start the car again and it worked. When I looked under the hood I did not see anything wrong. Drove to el paso and found out that the sensors from the gas tank to the engine were not working properly (fuel pressure sensor). It should read about 50-60 psi and we were reading about 43 psi. In short the computer told my engine "we are out of gas. " so that is why it just shut down, even though I was not empty. I noticed that there is already a similar recall already on chevy cars/trucks like the trailblazer. I think this may be a problem on more models than what is being reported!.

23 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/05/2014

Was driving in the business district when pump failed. Engine shut down which also shut down power brakes and steering. Gas guage showed empty although tank was half full. Had to have the unit towed into dealership where pump was replaced at a cost of $1203. 84. This was the second failure of the gas tank pump. First replacement was I believe in the fall of 2005 shortly after the warranty had expired at a cost of slightly less than $1000. 00. Mileage would have been between 35 & 40,000. Don"t have the ticket for this but I believe I can get it. Have talked with others who have had the same problem. If you have pickup can be changed cheaper as they remove the pickup box. In both instances I was traveling at a low rate of speed so the loss of power steering and power brakes was not catistrophic.

24 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/04/2014

When I turn there is a popping noise that can also be felt in the steering wheel also when I am driving and feel a bump. The fuel will at times show a full tank then all of a sudden go to 1/4 tank it changes all the time and is not accurate, I cannot depend on it because I never really know how much fuel it actually has. The driver seat heater got extremely hot and and we will not use because are scared it might burn thru the seat since it already left a small burn mark. The problem with the steering wheel on this particular vehicle also did the same on another Chevrolet we had and have researched online and it seems is a big issue with Chevrolet vehicles.

27 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/20/2011

I own a 2007 chev Tahoe with about 46000 miles. About three weeks ago the fuel gauge began to malfunction and read inaccurate fuel levels. I called two of our local dealers and was told by one that the malfunction was caused by a faulty unit inside of the tank. I was told that it would be about a 400. 00 repair. I was also told that the malfunctions were wide spread, and they had been making many warr repairs for this same problem. After doing some research online I was amazed to see how many people are experiencing the same problems with out of warr gm vehicles. Considering the wide spread problem with the fuel gauges I would hope that gm would voluntarily issue a recall and make the costly repair, even for out of warr vehicles.

28 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 04/04/2011

My 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe will often show that I have more than a quarter tank of fuel, but will suddenly stall. It does not happen all the time, but rarely do I let the tank drop below a quarter due to the issue. It has stalled out both in my area neighborhood as well as on the highway. Also, the digital readout showing estimated mileage left, has shown above 100 miles when the vehicle stalls. The only way to restart the vehicle is to add 2 gallons of fuel or more.

29 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 10/22/2007

My 2007 Tahoe is a piece of ?!@#$%. Since I got the truck it has been in and out of the shop. My gas gage floats I can start out at â¾ of a tank and it will go up to â½ of a tank. The dealership has changed multiple parts and can not seem to fix it. The blower in the air conditioner went out that had to be replaced as well. My service light came on and another part had to be replaced. I would have to say that my truck has been in the shop at least 30 days. I would not buy another gm vehicle. The dealership was so quick to sell me the truck, not that quick to help me. I have picture and video with time and date of to gas gauge floating. My gas gage is the recurring problem, the dealership has changed multipr parts.
