Our vehicle was rear ended and the front passenger seatbelt did not lock or (possibly) locked too late. The front passenger's face hit the dashboard, as well as their knees and feet. The vehicle that hit ours was estimated to be travelling at about 45 mph and we were rolling at around 5 mph in traffic. The failure has not been able to be reproduced by the collision center, the sensor callibration contractor, nor the dealership. No sensors showed any failures and the tension appears to be correct on the seatbelt. We have been unable to determine why the seatbelt failed during this incident and if the vehicle will react appropriately in the event of another collision.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the pre tensioner cable for the driver’s side seat belt snapped, and the contact was no longer able to drive the vehicle due to the seat belt failure. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the pre tensioner cable was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 230,000.
I was driving and the driver dash frozen. I couldn't tell my speed, it didn't indicate blinker or hazards. It would say I was in "d" when the car was parked. The center dash shut down completely. The seat belt indicator didn't work, none of the charging ports worked. **this is a rental car**** I do have video of the dash.
Service safety restraint system notification is coming on, vehicle has 45,000 miles on it.
After start up, there is no audio coming from the vehicle. No audio from entertainment system, no audio from turn signal and no audio from fasten seat belt "chime". Restarting vehicle does not change the outcomes, initially. Exiting the vehicle and restarting about 10 minutes later, all audio returns, including entertainment sytem, audible turn signal indicator and fasten seat belt chime (if seat belt is not engaged). This has occured on several occasions since about 11/1/2024.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, a second vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The contact indicated that during the crash no air bags were deployed and the front driver and front passenger seat belts did not retract. After the incident, the front driver's side and front passenger side seat belts remained inoperable and the air bag warning light remained illuminated. No injuries were reported and a police report was filed at the scene. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted regarding the failures. The contact was concerned that due to the illuminated air bag warning light, the air bag may erroneously deploy while operating the vehicle. The failure mileage was 212,000.

Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 21v450000 (seat belts) which was linked to the failure. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and both informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The indicator light 'service safety restraint system' beeps and comes on about every 5 minutes when driving. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all. There is no rhyme or reason for why it happens.
Second row right side seatbelt retractor broken and not bolted to c pillar from factory.

The bolt that mounts the third row seat belt near the base of the seat broke so the bottom of the seat belt is no longer attached.
Third row sealbelt buckle retention been a problem since 08/2022 and no one has given me a call. If I get in a car accident it can increase the risk of injury for the people in the 3rd row. I have no accidents but I'm trying to prevent it from having one.

Driver side seat belt unbuckles randomly for no apparent reason forcing you to re-buckle. To confirm belt was buckled properly I pulled on strap and it would not release. Yet driving down road it will unbuckle randomly.

2022 Tahoe was inspected for the announced recall. The manufacturer chevy has no timeline for when the 3rd row seat belts will be repaired but only said we cannot use any of the 3rd row seats till fully repaired. I called chevy and ask them what’s the suggestion what’s if the passenger is 5 or more. Will the give rental fee or a loaner vehicle. They said no. This is totally unacceptable. Gm is offering nothing to customers that purchased $74000+ vehicles from them for the very reason that they have big 3rd rows. How are families of 5 or more supposed to function in the meantime? NHTSA should exert all available pressure on gm to prioritize on-road vehicles and do it now.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact received recall notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v617000 (seat belts). However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Our Tahoe was inspected for the announced recall and failed the test. The dealer/manufacturer has absolutely no timeline for when the 3rd row seat belts will be repaired and said we cannot use any of the 3rd row seats until then. The dealer even said it could be a year before parts are available. This is totally unacceptable. Has gm rerouted new seat belt assemblies from their manufacturing of new vehicles to prioritize repairs of vehicles already on the road vs. Keeping their sales pipeline full? I doubt it. Are dealers prioritizing vehicles on the road over those on their lots that are waiting to be sold. I doubt it. These are the very questions NHTSA should be asking of gm. Gm is offering nothing to customers that purchased $70,000+ vehicles from them for the very reason that they have big 3rd rows. How are families of 5 or more supposed to function in the meantime? NHTSA should exert all available pressure on gm to prioritize on-road vehicles and do it now.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact received a notification for NHTSA campaign number: 22v617000 (seat belts) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

1- the second row center seat belt receptacle stopped locking so failed, this happened while using the vehicle. 2- the seatbelt receptacle stopped latching while using the car in seattle, I had to drive with someone in that seat unbuckled because all other seats were being used. 3- the receptacle can not be repaired, needs to be replaced; 4- I have contacted the manufacturer to have them fix this but they will not do it without compensation. 5- no warning. The vehicle is not old and in very good condition. I drive with my family in the car daily but rarely need to use the middle seat. I feel this is a defective latch due to the limited use and age of vehicle. I am concerned that the other seatbelts will also break without warning and think that gm needs to be aware of a possibility.

Front passenger seatbelt is stuck won’t expand to buckle up, when turning on right blinker the high beam lights turn on. Which is unsafe for other drivers being blinded by the bright lights. Back hatch does not operate at all, could potentially be life threatening if that was an only exit due to unexpected circumstances.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the second-row seat belts were being frayed while retracted by the belt latch. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the fraying of the belt webbing was slight but over time had become more noticeable and the contact was concerned that the belt would tear during a crash. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
I had a incident almost tragedy yesterday inside my Tahoe , parked on my parents drive way. My kid 7 years old was inside truck playing and somehow he got belt tangled around his neck with car seat belt the one that hangs from roof used for car seat. Luckily one of my daughters noticed in time to let me know I could not release belt (I guess child proof),so I had to cut it to release my son. Thank god he ok. I would like to advise Chevrolet about this situation so they can correct and avoid this from happening to another person.
When driving I hear a winding sound in my speakers when I accelerate. My radio is off when this happens. Also my drivers seat belt will not stay latched. Keeps coming updone when correctly fastened.
The right center row seat belt retracts slowly and not all the way leaving it loose hanging. No twists are found in the belt itself causing an obstruction to retracting.
Our 2007 chevy Tahoe was parked/stationary, engine on, car in park with emergency brake on, and parked on a dirt driveway. I got into the driver side and shut the driver side door when the side curtain airbags in the front row, second row, and third row on both the driver and passenger side deployed. The seat belts for the driver and front seat passenger locked up and are unable to unlock and are not usable.
I purchased a 2021 chevy Tahoe from autonation Chevrolet 11-3-2020. I have taken my Tahoe to the service department numerous times - as my truck has had a stubborn service safety restraint system warning error code that continues to come on and off. I have taken it to have all recalls serviced as per recall request. The service safety restraint system warning code has not been corrected after more than 5-6 visits if not more as not all visits have been logged properly. I have had this truck for less than 12 months and have experienced too many conflicting issues. I do not feel safe driving my Tahoe with the srs light on. There's obviously a malfunction that you all have not been able to figure out. This is extremely dangerous!! what if I were to get involved in an accident or collision and my airbags do not deploy? I may have a problem with the airbags themselves, a loose wire, a faulty seat belt buckle, or a problem with the engine control unit which is causing the airbag warning to come on. There is obviously a major problem. I am putting my children and family at risk. I have not received an email or phone call from anyone at autonation Chevrolet. The service safety restraint system warning code has come on and off 7x since I was last at the dealership (9/10/21) and I have pictures to support.
Well my air bag light stay on never goes over and my driver seat belt does not even lock at all. Then I keep hear this popping noise that come from hub and shocks and nothing on my dash works 1st it started off by I couldnt see what gear I was in. My driver seat u push the button to go forward it moves the seat back. My heat blower has something wrong with and it has something to do with this purple wire on the floor bored. Now my truck cant get on the free way because every thime I get on the freeway and on the free way four more then 10-15 min my truck just shuts off. My heated seated only stay on for 1 to 2 min and then keeps shutting off. My back seats dont let down at all. Then at the bottom of my truck where the oil pan is for some reason there is always alot of oil all over at the bottom like someone just dip my truck in a big bowl of oil. Then when my ignition where the yellow black and red wire go to the top of my ignition the black plug is real lose and can't replace at all. And with everything on now with my income im already out of $5,000 already for parts and labor this is mu only car I have and I really need my car right now dont have money to go buy a new truck or car. I really need my truck it mean alot to me.

Constant recurring "service safety restraint system" warning, mostly when passenger is seated.
I had pulled away from back door of store after dropping off a donation. I drove about 30 feet when my passenger side rear door popped open and tapped a fence post. Every airbag went off in the vehicle, except for the steering wheel. I could not have been going more than 5mph. It sounded like an explosion went off and frightened me terribly as I am claustrophobic and was trapped in the vehicle. The insurance agent, and tow service said that that door hitting a fence post should not have blown every airbag in the vehicle. They both acknowledged that they had never seen that happen in all the accidents they have been to. I do not feel like my insurance company should have to cover this and I should not have to pay the $1000 deductible when there is clearly problems with all the recalls on airbags.
The service safety restraint system light keeps coming on. This error comes while stationary and in motion. I took it back to the dealership and they said it was the driver seat that keep making the error happen.
Brand new vehicle bought two weeks ago. I am getting a service safety restraint system message intermittently.
