1 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 03/06/2017

Shift indicator does not illuminate. Called dealership in reference to the 05v055000 recall that I assumed was applicable to all Tahoes with the same problem. Service tech inicated that my VIN was not part of the recall. Seems that the recall should be expanded to include all of the same vehicles since the problem seems to affect the all.

2 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 09/29/2012

We purchased a 2007 Tahoe in August 2012. Since this time, my wife and I have both experienced multiple electrical starting issues with the vehicle. A jump start or boost will often allow the vehicle to start. However, there have been situations where we have not been able to find an available boost. We have been stranded in parking lots, family vacations, work, and our kids games or practices. As noted in many of the complaints, the starting problems are intermittent and there are times a boost will not start the vehicle. In fact, we even began to lose power traveling at highway speeds during a family vacation this past summer. This is very disturbing issue for gm and their apparent inability or unwillingness to correct the problem. In addition to the starting / loss of power problems, a cracked dash and faulty cruise control is something that should not happen with the technology available. Based on a review of the complaints, it may likely be a battery cable issue. Gm must recall this known problem!!!.

3 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated. The contact mentioned that the abs, loss of power, check engine and the traction control warning lamps were illuminated immediately after the failure. In addition, the contact mentioned that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the throttle sensor and cables were defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the remedy failed to correct the problem. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not further repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 4,000 and the current mileage was 17,000. Updated 07/02/12.

4 Speed Control Cable problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 01/27/2006

I just purchased a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe z71 with 29854 miles on it. Today while driving on the freeway the odometer stopped functioning correctly. While driving 70 mph the odometer was reading 20 mph. Then while driving 45 mph it was reading between 10-20 mph. I read through the other complaints and found 3 that seemed to be having the same problem. I just lucked out by finding this web site and wonder how many other people are having the same problem. This appears to be a safety defect in the vehicle. I have a 36/36 bumper to bumper warranty and Monday plan on calling the dealer to bring it in to have it repaired under the warranty. This should be a recall since it appears to be happening to several vehicles.
