1 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2007

The side mirrors which have memory recall have never worked properly. They set themselves to different positions increasing the risk of collision due to reliance on the mirrors before changing lanes, etc.

2 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2007

Side mirrors no longer have memory of last position. I will find the mirrors pointing in different directions every time I start my vehicle. Every itme I have to reajust both outside mirrors to the correct position.

3 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2006

My vehicle is a 2002 Trailblazer ltz. It has the "memory" mirror option which features memory set options for driver 1 and driver 2, as well as rearview curb assistance (the mirrors will tilt down to your setting to help parallel park when in reverse). This option worked great for a while. Then, the mirrors started acting erratically. They would click excessively, tilt towards the sky or down at the ground. The mirrors quit holding their memory, and every time I got into the vehicle, I would have to reset the mirrors. The worrisome part of this is that the mirrors will not hold the reset either and while driving, the mirrors moved. I drive the interstate every day and when I checked the mirror to change lanes, found myself looking up at the clouds or down at the road. This is a serious safety issue!. (I won't even factor in the annoyance aspect. ) my 17 year old doesn't understand why I won't teach her to drive in the "newer" car and I explained that I actually feel like she's safer, in the 96 Saturn coupe, because the mirrors are reliable. I've seen this complaint on several sites and I seriously have to wonder why there has been no recall on something that is fundamentally a safety issue.

4 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2006

The right side mirror on my 2002 Trailblazer changes settings whenever the car is put into reverse even when this feature has been locked out. It does not return to the proper setting for driving and I have had two recent close calls by not being able to see cars approaching on my right side. The mirror and controls were checked several times and the mirror replaced once while the car was in warranty. I would be happy if the backup feature would stay locked out but have the control feature work so I could adjust the mirrors and have them stay adjusted. This has been a problem since the car was new but the recent close calls scared me into reporting it.

5 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2004

Automatic (programmable) side view (exterior) mirrors do not maintain their settings. They must be changed each time the vehicle is started and sometimes move while the vehicle is moving. Dealer first stated they couldn't duplicate the problem. I told them that was impossible and took the service tech out to experience the problem. He climbed out of the vehicle and said "gosh, I don't know. " I have complained about the problem to this dealer several times throughout my warranty. The mirror on the other side was replaced because the nut was stripped inside the mirror. Now that my car is at 34,000 and they tell me I've owned it for 3 years effective October that my warranty is no longer any good. I would think a previous problem would have overridden this.

6 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

The side view mirrors inadvertently moved once they had been set. Please provide more information.

7 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

8 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2003

I have motorized memory mirrors on my 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The memory function does not properly work, and on occasion the sideview mirrors will move while I am driving the vehicle. This is extraordinarily dangerous, especially on the highway.

9 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2003

The vehicle is equipped with automatic adjusting exterior mirrors. I have had problems with those mirrors for the longest time. The vehicle has been at the dealer several times for the problem. They always say they fixed something different, but the problem is still prevalent.

10 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2002

Side mirrors exhibit erratic behavior on entry to vehicle. They never return to preset position. This existed from purchase of the new vehicle, a 2002 chevy Trailblazer. Delear says it requires two actuators and software update costing $400. The incorrectly positioned mirrors cause a hazzard if not noticed each time car is unlocked, entered and driven.

11 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2002

Side view mirror will change automatic setting, at the time when consumer uses power lock. Could set side view mirror at height desired, but it will change as soon as power lock is used. The front side mirrors electronically locked position changes due to memory of the system malfunctioning.

12 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2002

Exterior mirrors are misaligned and do not show intended view. Consumer has contacted manufacturer. Manufacturer was aware of problem, and wasworking on a remedy.

13 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem

Side view mirrors do not retain memory position. Every time you unlock the vehicle with the remote unlock feature the mirrors wander to a faulty location. This has almost caused crashes because of visibility issues.
