1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

All Trailblazer tahoes and envoys have the problem when you disconnect the battery it causes theses actuators to slam open and shut breaking them. The dealership is telling me almost 2000 dollars to fix this safety issue. This is a safety issue because I live in michigan and depend on the heat to unthaw my windshield. Considering this is a manufactures problem and any mechanic knows to disconnect the battery to work on the vehicle. So what is this crap? do I have to retain a lawyer for this issue if someone could please contact me at [xxx] my name is [xxx] I would like to resolve this issue with a recall. Heat in winter I would say is a safety issue that needs to be recalled. I will be persistent with this. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The wipers stop half way across the windshield making it impossible to see when it is raining. Regardless of the speed of the wipers. This is going to cause an accident. I have only had this vehicle for about 2 months. My disabled son has to ride in this vehicle. It needs to be safe and gm could care less. Something needs done. This is an on going issue with all Trailblazers. Gm will not acknowledge this fact.

3 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2012

Anytime the wipers are set on intermittent, they completely stop at any given time. You can be driving along and the wipers will just stop with the blades positioned perpendicular to the base of the windshield. The wipers sometimes resume within a few seconds or there is up to a several second delay. I have to move the stalk to low or high to get the wipers to move again. I wouldn't normally complain because of the age of the vehicle, but it was recalled for wiper problems in its infancy due to water getting onto the circuit board. I can only assume the fix did not keep the water out and the circuit board was damaged.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2012

The wipers shut off by themselves, or won't turn on, and sometimes they turn on by themselves while driving. This is an ongoing issue with these vehicles.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2011

I feel that even if you have had a recall issue once and the situation continues to happen then it needs to be fixed until the problem is solved I have contact gm several time and nothing has been done to ratify my problem with the windsheild wipers and the 4 wheel drive and several other recall issues this is sad I say we need a class action law suit I am not one to to take legal action but for people that have this kind of money and to not fix their problem that they put out on the roads for us to drive safely is shameful.

7 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

Windshield wipers (equipped w/rainsense automatic moisture sensitive wipers) operate erratically when set to intermittent mode. They cease operation mid-windshield and operate in a very choppy fashion when set to any setting besides full-on. This problem started occurring sporadically less than 1-month ago and now occurs whenever the wipers are turned on. Bringing the car to the local chevy dealer service department tomorrow morning (6/15/2010) to fix the problem.

8 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2010

I purchased a used 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer VIN# [xxx] and the windshield wiper systems will not turn on and ceased operation while in use. (moisture sensitive wiper system) there was a recall for this issue on 2/4/2004 recall id #69922 I contacted Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 and was told that the vehicle was serviced on 7/2004 for a seal assembly and there was nothing further they could do. However the problem still exists the information below was posted in the recall ad: because the presence of water within the wiper modules can either cause a short circuit or can lead to the corrosion of components within the module. Consequence depending on the occurrence and weather situation, driver visibility could be reduced, which could result in a crash. How can Chevrolet get away with selling a product with known defects and not be held responsible for insuring that these defects are properly fixed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

9 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2010

I have to report a failed recall campaign 04v046000 on my 2002 Trailblazer. My Trailblazer had the recall performed on 10-26-04 concerning a problem of wipers stopping mid stroke. I don't drive that car that often, and when I do, it is most likely raining. Well, the stopping mid stroke is again occurring. The dealer is not willing to do anything because the recall campaign has already been executed. It did not matter that the recall condition still exists.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2009

2002 chevy Trailblazer the windshield wipers claim they have already been fixed and will not be fixed again my thing is if it is a continuing problem with the wipers not fixed then they should be fixed until the problem is solved we have to ride around when it is not raining or drive another vehicle because we cant afford to have it fixed ourselves I called Chevrolet and they said to bad it was up to us only one recall. Can you help fix this problem or will this continue to go unnoticed thank you so much.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2008

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 75 mph in rainy weather conditions, the windshield wipers failed to operate properly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the control module failed. The vehicle was repaired. There were no prior recall defect repairs made to the vehicle. However, the manufacturer database indicated that the vehicle had been previously repaired for NHTSA campaign id number 04v046000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer); therefore, they refused to provide reimbursement for the repair. The failure mileage was 83,000 and current mileage was 87,000.

12 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2008

Chevrolet dealer began recall repairs but gm filed bankruptcy and dealer refused to repair citing inability to get paid by gm for recall, returning the vehicle to me unrepaired. Next dealer said records showed repairs were completed. They were not.

13 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2004

There was a vehicle recall campaign regarding the wiper motor on my 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Water would work it's way into the wiper motor on certain models and short the motor and circuit board out. General motor's fix was to inspect and reseal the motor. Not long after general motor's supposed fix, the wipers on my Trailblazer would stop in mid wipe and then restart again a few seconds later, which I regard as a serious safety related issue. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and was told the circuit board had shorted out and the wiper motor would need to be replaced at $332. 67. This was the same problem the recall was supposed address. In my opinion, general motor's (fix) was a stopgap measure and not a permanent solution to the problem and a ongoing safety related issue. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars that customers have had to shell out for this repair over the years. I feel that the NHTSA should make general motor's recall this vehicle once again for a permanent solution to this problem. I also feel that anyone who has paid for this repair should be reimbursed for their out of pocket expenses.

14 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2004

It has the "memory" mirror option which includes featuring memory set options for driver 1 and driver 2, as well as rearview curb assistance (the mirrors will tilt down to your setting to help parallel park when in reverse). This option worked great for a while. Then, in 2003, the mirrors started acting crazy. They would click excessively, tilt towards the sky or down at the ground. The local Chevrolet dealership replaced the actuators (under warranty) to see if it corrected the problem. They worked again for a while. Then, the mirrors quit holding their memory, causing me once again to have to reset the mirrors every time I got in the car. Also, the mirrors appeared to move at some point while I was driving. On numerous occasions, I thought my mirrors were reset, and then I would look to change lanes and find my mirror tilted up towards the sky or some erratic place.

15 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2002

Gm ignition switch recall needs to be expanded. My mother purchased a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer new. Approximately 5,000 miles into ownership, the car would "drop" various electrical components while driving down the road. For instance, while driving, the engine would continue to run, but the wipers would stop working, hvac would turn off, air bag and abs warning lights would illuminate, etc. Dealer had no idea how to fix. Eventually they replaced the ignition switch and the problem was solved. To my knowledge, gm never issued a recall, but I'm sure the issue is not isolated. These switches were unreliable across several vehicle lines, please investigate gmt 360 platform well.

The windshield wipers were inoperative, the instrument panel lights were flicking on and off, the inside dome light would not come on. Updated 04/13/15. Updated 07/20/15.
