Five problems related to other fuel system fuel gauge have been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel gauge has been fluctuating wildly for a couple of months, generally reading empty (even after fill up) but occasionally full (when a fill up is needed). Dealer said fuel gauge sensor was bad & that it would be approx $900 to fix. Looking into the problem online I see there are thousands of people with the same problem.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving at various speeds, the contact observed that the fuel gauge would fluctuate with an inaccurate reading. The failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.

Gas gauge has not been reliable. Low gas light will come on and go off while driving and does not register addition of gas accurately.
