Five problems related to service brakes have been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Gear shift locked into the parked position while vehicle still moving and in drive. Brake pedal also locked. My autistic son was in the vehicle with me. Gm knows about this issue as far back as 2002 . Do they care about the impact ? I am the 3rd owner ,bought this vehicle because of safety rating and that it has less than 92000 miles on it. I have owned it for 5 years.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer 360. The contact stated that the light failed to illuminate on the gear shift mechanism and was not able to view what gear the vehicle was shifted into. The contact also indicated that the battery, the seat belt and the brakes warning lights randomly illuminated as the failure progressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I am extremely disappointment and afraid of my Trailblazer at this point. We purchased the vehicle used and within a week of having the truck it started dying at redlights. Out of nowhere the truck just shuts off in the middle of the road. It has got to the point now that it does it while the vehicle is actually in motion. I have 3 kids and this is not safe! I lose total control of the vehicle. The headlight plug has burned up twice on the driver side and it has been replaced. The electrical is seriously in need of a recall do to the back door speakers never working since we purchased the truck (which the dealer promised to fix) along with the rear a/c (which the dealer also promised to fix! I cant afford 900$ in labor for whatever is making my truck shut off but if it doesn't get fixed it will be the death of me! reading codes on obd2 scanner of poo14 and p0016 incorrect camshaft timing wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system continuous oil flow to vct piston chamber failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)- now what do I do. .
While stopped behind a truck at a traffic light, my 2004 chevy trail blazer started moving forward while my foot was still on the brake pedal. My vehicle would not stop and collided in the rear of the truck just ahead of me while stopped at the traffic light.
My 2004 Trailblazer only had 59,000 miles on it when the speedometer began not working. Some times it reads I'm going 80 when I'm at a stop, other times (maybe one day out of 10) it works fine for about a day. The fuel and oil gauges are also not working correctly. The fuel says it is past full until it's completely empty and the oil does the same. The check engine light also comes on a lot for no reason. I also have a right tail light and blinker out even though I have had the bulbs changed. I have had a mechanic look at the wiring/electrical and can not find a problem. The estimated total repair costs are $1100 so far.
