I bought 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the fuel gauge is defective. It is crazy to hear beep sounding all the time telling me the gauge is empty when I know for sure is not. I wish it could be fixed, because I have many others things in my plate that need to worry, I really don't need another one.

Fuel gauge is not working properly. I checked with dealer and the NHTSA website about this issue. The problem is that gm will not honor the service bulletin. According to gm I was mailed out a service notice on my vehicle in 2011 which I never received. # 10041526 . I checked with the GMC dealer about this service bulletin and the they told me to bring my vehicle in for repairs. Well the dealer called and told me that my vehicle was out of the parameters for a cost free repair. I bought this vehicle brand new back and 2005 and I have kept up with the repairs and maintenance. The dealership I have this serviced at over the years never did any repairs on this service bulletin. I am a oif army veteran and I can not currently afford this $900 repair. I told customer service at chevy about this and all they offered was a chevy loyalty car. Really your kidding me?.
My fuel gauge stopped working correctly, when I fill it up it will read empty. After about several hours the gauge will start to go up. Spoke to chev. Dealer and was told that time has passed for them to fix at on charge to me. I only have 86968 miles on it this should be changed to cover more time.
Fuel gauge has been ready empty for several months. I looked on internet to see how to fix or possible problems. I noticed there was a letter sent years ago to the affect that gm would cover half the cost to repair, up to 10 years in service or 100,000 miles. When I contacted dealer the car was in service 10 years and 2 weeks and has 84,000 miles. I was informed gm will not help cover expense for repair do to time in service. I am questioning if this could become a recall or extended in service dating for this problem.

Fuel gauge had to be replaced, gas cap keeps coming lose and makes the check engine light come on. The headlights and interior lights will shut off occasionally when you are driving it. The radio buttons that light up at night only a few work. The whole radio system seems to have a short in it. You can hear the speakers come on when you hit a bump, but don't stay on. It will only have 1 speaker that works when the rest of them shut off. The back windshield wiper won't stay on track so it won't work. The passenger window mechanism completely broke and had to replace the whole piece. The Trailblazer is too light when a cross wind hits you on the road in the winter it will push you right off the road. Very discouraged with general motors, they usually have better working vehicles than the ones they have been producing lately.

I filled my gas tank full and it then the gas light comes on. I am having to keep track of my miles so that I don't run out of gas because the fuel needle keeps going up and down, not reading accurately. Now every single time that I put gas in this happens. Very frustrating, especially when I want to travel out of town and you are not sure when you'll see the next gas station. Are there any recalls on this?.
The fuel gauge doesn't work properly I have to reset the trip meter every time I fill it up with gas. I know others have had complaints about this issue just like to see gm help with this issue with a recall on them and pay for the costs since this is a major issue with a lot of people.
Fuel gauge will read wrong. The gauge will suddenly drop down to empty and then will slowly start to rise back up after sitting on empty for a while. Also my vehicle will just stall out at red lights or when I am stopped in traffic. I will have to put my car into park and restart it quite often. This is obviously a major problem and there should be some recalls on this. This is a safety issue. I have read of peoples cars stalling out while they are driving down the highway and am personally scared of this happening to me while I am transporting my children around.
Driving down main road in town and the vehicle just stopped right in the middle of the lane - no warning or anything. We were almost rear ended. I had my 3 children with me and had to push the vehicle up the road to the nearest turn in and call my husband for help. I contact Chevrolet and was told that since I was not the original owner of the vehicle that they would only cover 1/2 of the cost to repair the fuel gauge problem and they could not guarantee it would not happen again. I told them that I paid my 1/2 when I purchased the vehicle. I've been fighting this for 3 years with no avail. I hope your agency can help.

The oil pressure gauge stopped working. Second incident at a later date, the speedometer stopped working correctly, third incident at a different time, the fuel gauge reads incorrectly, fourth incident, the battery gauge is working sporadically. Most of the time the gauges do not function properly or not at all.

The fuel gauge does not work. This seems to be a very common problem, and gm's only remedy is to screw over consumers by making them pay for a known defective part out of pocket. This should be recalled and fixed at gm's expense, or they should at least offer a discount. Their $800. 00 estimate is silly.
Chevrolet Trailblazer faulty fuel gauge. My check engine light came on and later my gas gauge on my car started acting strange. Now when I fill up my vehicle it goes to empty and the light/warning comes on telling me I have no gas. After driving the vehicle the gauge will go to what the level is but sometimes it does not. We have to keep the trip meter on so we know how much gas we have left based on the mileage. I have checked and I would need to pay alot to get this problem fixed, so I have chosen to deal with it based on the mileage. I have read alot of people are having the same issues with their trail blazers. I believe with all the people who are having the same problems that this should be recalled. I drive alot and am worried that I will be on the highway sometime and run out of gas. This would not be good as I travel from wisconsin to illinois alot and there really are not alot of places to get off the highway. So this problem poses a big issue to me. I think that GMC should own up and fix this issue with their vehicles.

Purchased my veh in 2006 and soon after this my fuel gauge stopped working. Had it replaced by a local repair center. A few months after this the fuel gauge stopped working and had the repair center inspect the vehicle and they informed me that in both instances the fuel sending unit had gone bad. They informed me that the whole unit needed to be replaced at a cost of appoximately $600. I opted to replace the unit my self after purchasing the unit from a Chevrolet dealership for half the price. Now my fuel gauge has gone bad for a third time and now have to replace the whole unit. After doing some reasearch online, I find that my vehicle is not the only one with this problem and gm is not doing anything to assist their customers.
