Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that he smelled a strong fuel odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number:12v59000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 223,852. Ec.

I had an 1998 blazer and I had to get an new fuel pump cause the gas gauge was in the fuel pump . Something need to be done about this.
Driver side master power window switch does not work the driver side window at all! out of the blue this stopped working. Further research shows that the 2006-2007 models were recalled not the 2005! really, this car is "currently registered in a cold weather state which uses salt to clear the roads" (direct quote from general motors and isuzu recall 258,000 suvs, the associated press, August 19, 2012) since 12/2005 which is when the vehicle was purchased. Just because my vehicle did not have a fire "yet" but I have the "exact" problem which arose before these vehicles did catch fire, mine is not recalled? not only was the transmission recalled in 2008, I had a problem with the "blower motor" not working when you turn on the heat. You could only turn on the heat to no. 4. The truck was taken for service on 1/10/06, 1/30/06, 2/7/06 and 2/17/06 which was not even 2 mo. After purchasing said vehicle before the problem was corrected. In 11/06 the "fuel pump module" was replaced and covered "only" because I had the extended warranty and I had to pay the $100. 00 deductible, because I had gas but it was not registering. Again, I continue to have this problem. When calling gm on 7/24/13 about the window switch recall, I now find out that there is a "special coverage" for the "fuel level sensor". This is covered until 7/24/14, per gm (866-694-6546), unless you have more than 120,000 something miles. Was not sure of the mileage exactly since mine is below that figure. The window switch is a serious malfunction that needs to be covered in "all years" of this vehicle. While sitting at a red light with your foot on the brake, the vehicle will just rev up and want to take off. I guess this isn't a "big deal" either. You can't even listen to the radio to distract you with all these problems going on because the radio only comes out of "one" speaker! go figure, it is gm!.
My Trailblazer 2005 would be driving down the street at about 25 to 30 miles, then my engine would just turn off with out any warning, am afraid it will happen again but this time when am in the highways going 60 miles on the highway I seen that is not just my vehicle that has happened to and even the fuel pump has gave up with out no answer, the gm or Chevrolet dealership don't have a clue why this is happening. It will be really helpful if you guys look into this before someone gets hurt on this malfunction. I really appreciate for taking your time. Sincerely, Chevrolet Trailblazer driver.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuel gauge read inaccurately numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel pump and/or the computer chip that controls the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The dealer offered to cover half the cost of the repair. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 135,000.
The fuel pump assembly went out. Car completely died. It's an $1,100 fix and I've been hearing that this is a known problem with the Trailblazer. No noted recall yet. Wanted to report the problem.
I have a 2005 chevy Trailblazer. I purchased said vehicle at the end of July-beginning of August 2007. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of owning a chevy due to not having any issues. . . Well that was until December 2009. I began noticing that my gas gauge was malfunctioning. I would fill up the tank but it would read empty, and that problem has been ongoing since my discovery. I currently have to read my mileage to know when to put gas in my tank. Additionally, I have ran out of gas twice and both times putting myself in harms way and damaging my fuel pump (which is costly). Just two days ago I ran out of gas on a busy street, I didn't panic, but I was a bit nervous. I hit the hazards, and pulled up my emergency break (because breaks and steering wield froze up). The vehicle behind me slammed on breaks just missing me by inches. This is no way to live and drive. I'm scared to go out of town or take back roads because I may give out of gas in an area where there is no cell phone tower or low to no signals. This has put me in a very bad space.
2005 Trailblazer fuel gauge out of order a lot of people who has same car like me has same trouble happen also chevy knows about this trouble from fuel pump and level sensor trouble they just want to make money out of this issue that's really bad idea and my car make this trouble only it was 40k mile can you believe this.
