Fuel gauge intermittently reports empty when vehicle was just fully filled with fuel.
My 15 yr old driver in training,, was leaving town with myself and her father the engine just stopped running causing us to lose all movement of car had to coast to the side of highway { busy with semis} had to call tow truck to come get it ,, it wouldn't start after trying a few times . And also the seat belts lock tight and will not give when pulled on them leaving you strapped tight in the seat you have to unhook them to release them . . Very uncomfortable when you traveling.
My gas gauge is sitting on bottom instead of top where it's supposed to be. I don't know how much gas in my car. An I have 2 small kids an one has a heart condition. An I'm on a fixed income. An also my head lights go off an on all the time day or night.
Stop it starts jerking and check engine light flashs head went bad at 109 thosand miles.
My speedometer stopped working my gas gaige stopped working and my odometer went out cant see the milelage and I dont know how much gas is in the take, and the speed is mot working. I remember a recall awhile ago if you had the problem they said and I didnt at that time I think it was 2011.
My gas gauge quit working, so I never know exactly how much fuel I have.
The gas gauge stays on empty every once inawhile it will move but goes right back to e.
Car will not accelerate. Revs up really high without acceleration.
My gas gauge reads empty all the time even after a fill up. It never moves. Also I have replaced shocks and struts all the way around the vehical but every time you hit a bump in the road it shakes you from side to side really hard.
Fuel gage is not showing the fuel level , so it looks like its empty all the time automatic air bag passenger sensing system is malfunctioning and on windshield urethane bead may not have adhered to the body in certain areas during the cure process.
I noticed my battery guage quit. Then after starting my truck a few different times, the gas guage read differently. Then my speedometer wduld stick on 100 when I was doing approximatly 60. Then the speedometer would not work at all. There needs to be a recall on it. My friend has a 2005 also and her cluster pannel went out too. Its a 400. 00 repair. This has happened to quite a few 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazers from what ive read online. Come on general motors. You need to recall these models.
Tl - the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact has not experienced any failure, but was concerned for future safety, because she had seen complaints about her vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The diagnosis was the fuel level sensor may ware prementurely. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 48,000. Bt.
After filling up with gas and restarting the engine I heard a "ding" followed by gas empty light indicator. The SUV will now not move off of "e" and the empty light indicator will not go off either.
Nov. 2013 was the frist time we had a proplem, right after that the oil gauge was not working. On an off we have noticed other type of problem that seem to be electrical. For the last year \year an half my gas is all over the place, always stopping to get gas as not to give out. Also, my gear and mileage gauge does not work. Now have no idea when to change the oil or rotate tires.
Electrical issues:vehicle dashboard lights will show door gate open, doom lights wil be on, ringing bell when the door would be open and yet its actually closed, as all continues to go at any given time when the vehicle is in movement. Speed odometer gage doesn't read when vehicle is in movement and the gas gage doesn't read the correct level of showing how much gas is in vehicle. This is a big safety issues cause it has me worried of not knowing how much gas I have before it runs out of gas risking myself and others because vehicle all of a suddenness loses speed and shuts down.
We were driving on interstate 94 in north dakota and we heard a pop. By the time we pulled over there were flames up to the window on the drivers door. We quickly got out. Vehicle is a total loss. This should not happen. Date of accident was 10/31/2014.
Fuel sensor seems to be failing as is with many other problems with the electrical system on this car including a broken speedometer at 60,000 miles. This car seems to have far too many sensor or electrical issues and given the safety implications of speedometers that suddenly fail and fuel sensors that fail, it would seem prudent for someone to realize that these issues pose a severe safety hazard to all. After research on the internet, speedometers and fuel sensors seem to be a common issue with Trailblazers. Please research the electrical system and sensors more closely.
I filled up my car and the fuel indicator went to empty. Now, sometimes it registers some fuel but not where it should be. It usually stays on e. This is a safety hazard because you don't know how much fuel you have. After reading the complaints seems this is a problem with most Trailblazers. The wheel hubs and bearings have also went gone since this happened the parts place says this is also a problem with Trailblazers.
While waiting in line of a car wash my chevy Trailblazer shut off and a strong smell of gas filled the vehicle while what appeared to be gas leaked from under the driver seat. After doing some reading on the issue I'm discovering this is happening regularly to Chevrolet vehicles and recalls are not being made. Had we been on the highway or a busy street where people constantly flick cigarettes out the window, this could have played out differently. I understand that it can be costly to have a recall but my whole family was in the SUV and from the sound of it so were other family's. I have had no major problems with my vehicle and very upset that this is a problem that could have been avoided and cost less if a recall had been issued. I will never buy another Chevrolet for not valuing their customers!.
The dash component went out, leaving all of the gauges broken, including the speedometer and gas gauge. Also, the fuel sensor is broken so in order to have a working gas gauge, both the dash system and the fuel sensor must be fixed. The doors lock automatically and sometimes won't unlock if they were locked when the car was turned off until the car is turned on again. It takes them 2 weeks to fix the problem!! meanwhile, we have run out of gas, almost causing an accident, and continually have to gauge our speed by the speed of others around us, if we are lucky to be traveling where there are others who hopefully are doing the speed limit. It's going to cost about $1500 to fix it all and have a rental car for the 2 week period it takes them to fix it. It can't be fixed by a non-gm service center because gm has to reprogram the electrical system once it is fixed so it would then have to be towed to a gm dealer anyway and would cost even more. Meanwhile, we and those driving around us are at more risk because of these defects.
The fuel guage fluctuates between empty and full and is a safety issue.
The gas hand does not work. $50+ dollars is put in at the gas station, then the gas light still comes on. This same issue has been going on for almost a year now and have run out of gas on at least 2 occasstions. I haven't been able to get it fixed because I can't afford it, but it is really a safety concern. From what I've read on line recently, this is a problem with several Trailblazer owners across the country.
Gas gauge was reading inaccurately resulting in car stall. Also, speedometer is not functioning correctly - will start out anywhere from 5 mph to 45 mpg over from standstill.
Vehicle has 145,000 miles. This is the second time the dashboard's gas gauge has stopped working. First time occurred around 50,000 miles and it was replaced.
The fuel sensor level is out. It is going to be quite expensive to fix. . . . After searching the internet it appears several people are having the same issue. Why is there not a recall???.
Gas gage is not working properlly.
After filling up my 2005 Trailblazer, my gas needle went to empty and the light came on. The next morning my gas gauge was on full but then it started moving intermittently and has not stopped since. I am never sure how much gas I have and do not have the money to pay for repairs. After reading all the complaints from other people who also have a 2005 Trailblazer, it seems there should be a recall from gm. They are offering a "deal" as they call it where they will replace the fuel sensor if you have less than 120,000 miles but you still half to pay for half of the repair and gm will pay the other half. This is not a "deal", it should be covered by gm at 100%!.
Both the speedometer and gas gauge quit working. In doing research, this appears to be a problem with alot of other owners of this vehicle; this should be a recall. This could be a very dangerous combination with the speedometer not working and if fuel runs out on a busy highway for example. I was just quoted over $880 to fix and declined due to the cost.
My gas gauge reads empty when full, or partially full, I never know how much gas is in my vehicle so, I have to guestimate or count miles, my oil pressure is the same. I am amazed this hasn't caused a mass recall so far as I have read through some of the pages of complaints and its littered with the same thing. I bought my car used Feb. 2012 and have had nothing, but issues.
Gas gauge stopped working then would operate intermittently although incorrectly. Researched this issue on the internet and found that this was a common problem for 2005 Trailblazers. Contacted dealership and found there is a special "secret" policy covering this problem. I have included the response from the service department: "I hope you are having a great day. I do see that your vehicle does fall under the special policy 10054 which extends the warranty with a 50/50 split until 3/30/2016 or 120,000 miles on the fuel level sensor. If the issue you are experiencing is being caused by the sensor gm would pay for half the repair and you would be responsible for the other 50% of the cost which your portion would be around $200-$250. 00. We would have to diagnose the issue first but if the cause is the sensor covered by the special policy you would only owe the aforementioned 50% of the repair. If you would like to set an appointment you can either reply to this email or call us direct at 414-425-7180. If you should have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to let me know. " they want $99 for a diagnosis to determine if I qualify for a 50/50 split on repairs for their design problem. This is a ripoff.
In 2007 I paid off my vehicle and now became the proud owner of my truck. In 2009, I noticed some problems with my truck. First, the gas gauge would say “f” full, but really it was on “e” empty. Then the mileage gauge … I can be on the expressway going as fast as the other cars, but my car reads 20 mph. This is crazy!!!! I called at 800-number for GMC and was informed that there was no recalls or any others calls for the 2005 Trailblazer, which I knew was a huge lie!!!! I decided to go on line and google the make and model of my car. Wow…guesses what I seen? there were over 41,000 people who have the same problems that I had for their 2005 Trailblazer. Again, the problem with my truck has gotten worst. In 2010, I called again and was informed that their still wasn’t any other calls or concerns with my truck and that I should take it to an authorize chevy dealership. Well, I did . . . In 2011, I called again. . Same script same story!!! I received a letter for a emission test for my car. Well, let me tell you when I took my vehicle up to the emission testing it failed!!! . I got an estimate cost of $ 1900, plus they found 3 additional codes. . Well, I got a 2008 chevy impala. I went from paying no car note, to $381. 00 a month note. The week of September 4th, 2011. . I receive a letter from Chevrolet addressing the issues with the 2005 chevy Trailblazers, and offering 50% on repairs for the same problems that I have been calling on for 2 years. Wankenia mcneal.
Since 2011 I've been having wrong reading of gas levels causing my vehicle to shutoff. Plus my passager air bag displays on when no one is sitting in seat and when someone is sitting in passager seat it occasionally flicker on and off. However I have not had a incident just yet but I'm very concerned and don't feel safe driving with my kids in this vehicle.
Fuel sensor has to be replace again (2nd time).
Faulty fuel guage reading, vehicle stall.
Engine light comes on was told gas sensor was defective could harm engine rec'd notification from gm to repair would only pay half of the expense after 3 months same issue gm would not pay anything.
