5 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 08/11/2017

Certain sport utility vehicles equipped with 4 -wheel drive fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 101, no. 110, no. 114, no. 225, no. 209, & no. 208. Vechicles were built with a left -front brake pipe with a circumferential score at a random location along the lenght of the pipe as the result of the manufacturing process. If the brake pipe partially or fully fractured, brake pedal travel would immediately increase and front brake performance would be reduced under certain circumstances the front lower control arm brackets may fracture. Missing welds on the rear flow plan the calibration of the transfer case control module could cause insufficient high speed gear engagement. This fracture could result in separation of the front lower control arm from the frame some of these vehicles were built with a range shift collar in the transmission transfer case that contains cracks.

6 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 03/15/2017

I've noticed that my front end was lower than usual. At first I thought my upper control arms were giving in. I took my car to replace the front tires and to also get a 4 wheel alignment. That is when I was told that the strut base that is welded onto the chassis was rotting off. The mechanic expressed that I was a very lucky guy because at any point in time during my commute, I could have been in a serious car accident that could have resulted in death since I mostly use this car on the highway to commute to work. I didn't think much of it until he actually showed me all the rotted parts and I was in deep shock once I saw what he was telling me. I'm thankful that the cars strut was leaning on the inner fender frame preventing it from completely falling to the ground. I asked the mechanic how something like this could have happen and he explained that since we live in an area where it snows, the salt that is applied on the roads gets trapped into the slotted holes of the chassis and deteriorates with time. It is unknown of the time of which the chassis had begun rotting.

12 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 10/19/2004

I just had an alignment done on our 2002 Trailblazer and was told that the right front tie rod is going to need to be replaced. The mechanic showed me how much play was in the right front tire and wheel. It was atleast one half inch. There are no grease fittings on the 2002 chevy Trailblazer because they are sealed. The mechanic said that for this to happen it would of not had enough grease put in at the factory. He also said that this is a major safety issue because the wheel can break at the tie rod and the front wheel will not be controllable.
