Front Suspension Wheel Bearing Problems of Chevrolet Trailblazer

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the passenger side wheel bearing was replaced. The failure occurred twice. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact heard a loud humming noise coming from outside of the vehicle while driving approximately 30 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing, which detected that the front driver's side wheel bearing and outer tie rod were excessively loose. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was not a recall related to this issue. The failure mileage was 67,728.

While driving at 60 mph, the consumer felt a strange wobble sensation in the front left side of the vehicle. The consumer stopped the vehicle and checked the tire on that side . Several miles down the road the wheels on the vehicle locked up. The vehicle skidded across three lanes of traffic before coming to a stop. The dealer examined the vehicle and replaced the wheel bearing on the left side. Four weeks later the exact same thing happened on the right side of the vehicle. The right side wheel bearings needed to be replaced.
