2 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2018

Another 2011 Traverse with a timing chain failure at 82k miles. Driving ho e from work on a busy route and without warning the engine started making horrendous noises and lost power almost causing us to be rear ended. Had car towed to local mechanic who determined it was the timing chain. Have open case with gm (8-4399513745) but too date nothing but run around. VIN is not in parameters for extended warranty. How many Traverses need to fail before gm takes ownership of their gross manufacturing defect and makes their customers whole again - this should be recalled and a class action suit filed. This happened 2 months after replacing water pump, alternator , battery and crank shaft sensor after sudden power loss. Someone needs to hold gm responsible. They are blaming the consumer in every case and refuse to correct their mistake. How many more will it take before someone steps in and makes gm do the right thing? in the meantime another chevy customer leaving the ranks. I will let everyone who's anyone know the true gm customer service and commitment or should I say lack there of.

3 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2017

Went for an oil change and then noticed my coolant reservoir completely. I contacted oil company and topped coolant off. Next day went to work and oil company came to inspect the car and coolant empty again. Went to oil company after work and was advised to go to dealership as it appears to be a water pump leak. Next morning went to shaheen Chevrolet and paid $101. 86 and the advised it was my water pump leaking at shaft weep hole. I research3rd and found recall 13079 and contacted gm at 18002221020 and s/w anna and was advised its not a recall but a customer satisfaction program. And that I had the customer satisfaction on 4/19/2014 and it only carried a 12 month warranty. However since this seems related they will assign my case to a senior advisor . . . Case 8-3280633041.

8 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2015

I purchased this 2011 chevy Traverse in Feb. Of 2015, so I believed it to be a fairly new car in good shape. Not even a month later the gas hand becomes faulty and is not showing the correct amount of gas, and starts fluctuating. Next I'm riding on the freeway and the truck immediately starts slowing down and reads loss of engine power and shuts off right in the middle of the freeway. Now I am freaking out with me and my kids in the car and others flying around me doing 75 to 80 mph to my decreasing speed. I was scared for my life and my children's lives as cars and trucks are speeding around and honking at me. The truck dies and I barely manage to get to the side so that I would not be hit. I then get the car towed to the local dealership who then says that the truck needs a water pump which turns out to be under my extended warranty. They also reset my fuel sensor because they say they tested it and it was still good. So it only cost me $100. 00. I pick my truck up and it works fine for less than a month and starts up again. I run out of gas on a busy street and get another tow. Back to the Chevrolet house it goes. This time they reset the check engine light and says its still not the fuel pump, sensor, or anything because they cannot find anything at all. I go pick it up once again and on my way home ran out of gas, while the gas level is reading right at half a tank. I know there was gas in the tank when I ran out and when the truck was towed. The dealership kept my vehicle for a whole week and all they did was got the truck on level ground, obviously, and the truck ran all the gas out while parked and they were 'trying to find the problem'. So now the gas hand is not working at all and I'm always putting gas in it and taking a chance because nobody knows whats wrong. This vehicle has been nothing but a headache and this problem needs recalling before one dies.

9 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2014

I was driving the truck on the main street when the truck just turned off, everything shut down even the radio. . . Checked the ignition and the key was still on, luckly when the car stopped the cars behind me stopped. I was then able to turn the key again, and the truck turned on. . . This has happened one other time but don't remember the date exactly. . . I also had the water pump replaced after being told by the dealer that it was ok. . . I am looking to get refunded for that repair. . . Bulletin no. 13079.
