Air Bag Light On problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

While driving on vacation service air bag light came on and off. Later on it came back on and has stayed on. Ran dianogstics and no codes available. Service air bag light still comes on at every start up. Is the vehicle safe to drive, will the air bag deploy when needed or not needed???.

I had my air bags repaired in October 2019. Six months later the service air bag light came back on. I then called denooyer Chevrolet where I got the work done at. And they said I had to pay for it again. I did not bring it in because this was something I already payed for previously. I called Chevrolet customer service explained the same situation to them. They acted if they was gonna take care of the repair. But they did not and told me there was nothing they can do. This happened more then once and not just in my 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. My warranty do not cover it because it's a safety issue. I need help it's a safety issue and I am risking mine and my kids lives everyday.

Service air bag light randomly comes on and most of the time stays on even though the air bags are fine.

The airbag light came on. I took it to get diagnosed and it is the passenger side air bag that needs fixed. I called gm and because the car is 6 years old, it is out of warranty to be fixed. I should not have to fix a safety issue with the vehicle that is not wear and tear.

This is the 3rd time in the last 2 years that the airbag indicator has come on. Vehicle just passed 60k miles. This time the error code I was given b0022. All of these problems appear to be due to issues with the connectors underneath the front driver and passenger seats. I will now be bringing the vehicle to be returned for the 3rd airbag problem. It would be helpful if gm would address this.

I have not been in any form of accident and there has been no damage to my vehicle, yet this morning, I started my car and immediately, the �service airbag system� warning was displayed and my airbag light was illuminated. The light did not turn off while driving. After turning the car off, waiting, and then on again, the same error warning and light both displayed again.

The technician recommended a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000. Fe.

Possible tamara recall on August 5th, 2019, after only owning my 2014 Traverse for a month, my service air bag light came on. My 2014 Traverse is still under the manufacturer warranty(100,000 miles or less) please help me know what to do as I have 4 children, ages 8 months, 5 years, 12 years, and 17 years, and very concerned.

Bought car from Ford dealership in April and all the sudden the check airbag light started coming on while driving.

Made an appt. With a Chevrolet dealership with a service airbag red light on the dash board on 6/28/2019. Appointment was confirmed and once there, I was told to return the vehicle on another day, no appt. Available. To my surprise, the dealership advised me to continue to drive my car. I did return on 7/2/2019 diag. $158. 80 and to fix an additional $400. 00. This is a known problem with the airbag connector. I should know, not long after I purchased my car I went to get service for a seat belt recall and the car was returned with a service airbag light. I was told they could not let me drive the car because it's a liability. I guess because the car is no longer under their warranty, it doesn't matter. The error code was b0014: driver seat side airbag deployment loop resistance above threshold. To my understanding there is an extended warranty under the safety bulletin n192219480 which covers this malfunction up to 12 years or 180,000 miles. If this is true please advise.

"takata recall" air bag light came on out of no where and wont go off, costs over $100 just to diagnose. Needs a recall since the number of complaints.

Air bag light has been going off and on for 2 yrs. Ive taken it to the dealership multiple times. In fact, I took it 4 times because they said they fixed it, drive off dealer lot and the air bag light goes off again. Finally fixed it. 6 months later air bag light comes on again! the air bag light goes off and on all the time. It seems to be a wiring issue or loose fitting but dealer cant seem to fix it permanently. Sometimes the light will go on when I start the car first thing in the am while im parked in the garage overnight. Sometimes it goes off while driving-doesnt seem to matter if car is in motion or not. Ive had to pay to have dealer "fix" it but its not fixed whatever is the issue. I estimate that air bag light has gone on at least a dozen times and most recently last month.

The main air bag module was replaced by two different dealers (radley Chevrolet, 3670 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408, (540) 898-4000 and battlefield Chevrolet, 10411 james monroe hwy, culpepper, va 22701, (540) 317-1844). Both dealers stated that different parts of the air bag were malfunctioning and needed to be repaired at the owner's expense. The contact purchased an extended warranty when she purchased the vehicle, but the air bags were not covered. The contact called the manufacturer and filed a complaint. The failure mileage was 30,000.

My 15 year old daughter (permit driver) driving to school for extra community service hours (on a Sunday) and the car started to shake and not accelerate, the traction control, check stability control flashing. Very dangerous situation for a 15 year old driver. We pulled over and I took the wheel, same thing happened, we barely made it back home. Also, airbag light comes on randomly, had this serviced due to recall and the problem has started again. Frustrated mom.

In 8/2017 I took my 2014 chevy Traverse with 42k miles to shop for service airbag light that came on. Since that time, in the past 10months I have had at dealer 6 times for the same thing. I currently am having the same issue and cannot get Chevrolet to call me back to fix airbag issue once and for all. I have left several message and no reply from chevy. This is a safety issue and it is putting my families safety at risk. I am not very happy that it has not been fixed properly in the 6 times it has been at a gm dealer nor the fact chevy does not care and will not call me back. They should have to buy back this car if they cannot fix it correctly.

76,600 miles and the service air bag light is illuminated on my dash . Dealer is aware of issue. 2013 Traverses were recalled for the same issue but 2014 only received a service bulletin to extend the warranty to 72,000 or 6 years which ever came first. The air bags will not work when the light is on putting my children and I at serious risk if involved in an accident. This problem is due to a wire harness under the seat that needs to be soldered with a specialized by the dealer. The dealership stated the longer the light stays on the less of a chance the airbags will work even after the repair is completed. There are so hundreds of complaints for the same issue from other 2014 Traverse owners. I called the estero bay Chevrolet yesterday to notify them of the issue and the service manager kevin told me that I would have to pay a $119 diagnosis fee and for the repair to fix the issue. The repair could cost between $300 - $1,200. The dealer should be responsible for fixing this safety issue. This problem is because of their choice to use low quality parts or their manufacturing in the factory and not a normal wear and tear issue. I can not afford to fix this issue and am concerned that there is a chance even after paying for the repairs that my airbags will not work to protect my family if involved in an accident.

My service airbag light came on, and my mechanic also noted that there was an issue with my passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner deployment loop. This car has been in no accidents, and these issues should be recalled, but my dealer says there is no recall.

While driving normally at a speed of 35mph, a message saying "service air bag" began appearing in the dic and the airbag light began coming on and off on the dash and over the next couple days occurred more often until now it stays on constantly. I have read multiple other complaints stating exactly the same thing or something very similar. This is obviously a manufacturing issue and needs to be a recall. My lights on the dash and radio dims and the radio cutoff at any given time. This is very serious problems because the vehcile can cut off while I am driving. I also experience water pouring into to my Traverse right over my front over head lamps inside. There was so much water it filled the cup holder and the shift was wet. The front windshield has never been changed and I don't have any cracks on my front window. I have no clue how the water is coming into my Traverse from the top and leaking in through the front over head lamps. I have brought it into the dealership, 1 day ago I still have not heard back from anyone. I asked if it was common, with the Traverse and I was told no. I obviously they lied, because I had to come on this website to see that other people are experiencing the same problems. I am not a car expert but the man at the dealership that has been doing this line of work for 30+ years said he could smell the water has soon has he sat in the vehicle. So obviously water has been leaking in from some where for a while now to be able to smell the water. I keep my car very clean and my carpets are dry. So the water must be coming in somewhere from the roof and staying reserved in a particular area until it pours out. The water may be the reason I am having the other issues, and may be each problems is not related at all. It is very frustrating because I am paying car note on a car that is am skeptical about driving because I don't know if it safe to drive. I have not only my safety to worry about I also have my children safety consider and other people that ride in this vehicle too. The lights dims while driving or when idling. The service air bag light is on all the time when driving, idling, or in park.

The service air bag light will not go off.

My service airbag light came on, and then would go off and bag on again. I took it to a dealership and they said that drivers side airbag was bad and I bought my car about 18 months ago brand new. I was 10,000 miles over warranty, so the dealership said that it was not covered and I had to pay for the repair. An airbag issue is not a wear and tear issue! now 3 weeks after having it serviced my service airbag light is on again! I have 3 small kids in my car every day and I am worried to be driving it. I think that gm should take care of this issue!!.

The airbag light continues to come on, there is, per the seller no problem and the 36,000 miles and 3 years is past so I have to pay to try to figure out the issue, meanwhile I have no idea if the airbags are even working!.

Service airbag light came on, on the dashboard panel . . Took my vehicle to haley auto mall in farmville va . They diagnosed and found code b0015 and charged me to fix it . Since buying this vehicle, my service airbag light has been on. I've taken it in three times to the dealership I purchased it from and once to another dealership to no avail. My tire light /warning also continues to show despite the dealership not finding a problem.
