Was at a traffic light near my job when my car suddenly shuts off, never happened before so as I try to restart it wouldn't start at all. I caused a lot of traffic due to this. Living in nyc that's a big no no. As I looked on the dash while keep trying to get it to start different light started to come on the car was going out of wack. Finally a food cart guy seen me and helped me out by jumping my car with his food cart battery talk about embrassing Chevrolet needs to deal with this problem, never knew it was a common issue until I google and this problem happen to many people but yet there's no recalls. I am very disappointed and makes me want to give this car back.
2014 Traverse will suddenly shut down and not move. Flashes service stabilitrac, traction control off, reduced engine power. My vehicle has shut down multiple times including driving on the freeway with my two children in the car. After turning the car off and finally being able to turn it back on again, I am able to get the traction control to say on and to move my car. This last time the steering wheel locked up and my car wouldn't start for almost 10 minutes, with me and my children sitting in the middle of an intersection.
The stabilitrak service warning flashes. When this happens, it reduces the power of the engine causing the vehicle to shut down. This only happens when the car is in motion and now it won't start at all.
While driving at 45mph the vehicle completely shut off, the gauge cluster went crazy stating "stabilytrack" "reduced engine power" check engine came on and notices temp. Guage also went up from 210 to 215 slighty when I put in park and restarted vehicle restarted with no problem I drove to mechanic shop with no issue 4 miles away and when I arrived to shop I turned vehicle off and when mechanic returned to check engine error none was found or recorded this is the secon time it happens?.
I was driving along the highway and the car beeped and went into low engine power and died. I was able to steer to the side of the road, but had no power. This has happened 10 times. The first few times I was able to turn the car off and then back on again and it was fine. 3 times ago, the car died and wouldn't not turn over. A wrecker was called. We have had this vehicle in the shop 8 times in 2019 for this issue.
Engine power comes up low power and I just brought a new battery which I know that not it. The car will throttle and then I can only go up to 20 miles per an hour and it's hard to steer. I will have to stop the car for twenty minutes and it will start back up with the engine light on. This is very dangerous to take on the highway or even drive especially I have kids in my car. What can I do???.
A life and safety issue! with no warning the vehicle will suddenly shut off. It does not matter if you're moving on the freeway or parked, it is very intermittent and only happened three times in the last 6 to 8 weeks. Two different mechanics said error it's code p1682 is the fault but it will not duplicate the symptoms. I contacted chevy corporate and they knowledge other vehicles this year have a recall but claim mice VIN number is not affected and will do nothing. Hey fuel vehicle is in safe and do not want my family in it until I am certain it will not suddenly shut off while they are in motion.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle experienced a loss of power. In addition, the check engine and stabilitrak warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed, but the contact was not informed of the results. Golden motors (15101 la-3235, cut off, la 70345, (985) 807-1375) was contacted and a second diagnostic was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to assist with the repair cost if the diagnostic test detected a failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
My truck started shaking, after pulling over and turning it off, it cranked and ran normal (several times). The engine light came on and the reading was a starter relay fuse (similar to an ice cube) that was replaced. Then it started shaking, loosing power and not starting (rolling over but not catching). Code read throttle body which was cleaned. The very next morning exiting the interstate it lost power, would not start, again turning over but not catching. Towed to the dealer and diagnosed: fuel harness wiring. #3 ignition coil, spark plugs and fuel system cleaning. All done except fuel system cleaning. Drove to work, attempted to leave work and the vehicle would not crank, turning over but not cranking. Eventually cranked and 2 days later started jerking. Came to a stop sign, making a left turn it jerked and lost power in the middle of the road. Towed to dealer again replacing the entire fuse box. Fuse box is on back order, pending results.
I was driving on the highway when the car started losing power! as I hit the gas petal it would putt putt as if it wasn't getting any gas. I lost complete power at red light, had to turn the switch all the way down then back up then the car slowly winded up as if it didn't want to start so I had to give it a little gas then it cranked up on the dash board you can see the rpm going up and down as if it wanting to shut off!.
My car decided recently to start acting weird and the engine power went low and traction control went off and then my car would barely run. It says it could be the throttle body. It had done it twice since Saturday and starts running ok afterwards but want to see what's wrong and why it just started doing this. Never had any trouble till then.
Driving on a main rd only going about 40mph and the cars start beeping and stability traction light comes on and engine power source reduced pops up. The car starts jerking and shaking like it was going to shut off out of no where.
While driving the stability control turns off reduced engine power and the vehicle turns off leaving you no way to stream the vehicle . This happens at all speeds and in park. Engine code p1682. Been happening since April 2018. Two time engine turn off as I was driving on highway.
Fuse box-! with no warning, a system was triggered to drop engine power dramatically plunging from 65 to below 20. This happened to me 2 times on a major highway surrounded by trucks endangering my family as I could not climb above 20mph and had to scramble to get over and not be a hazard. While the dealer initially couldn't find the problem- chevy mechanics told them to check for a specific tripped fuse- that ruins the whole box. The problem is so prevalent- the part is indefinitely on back order. This is a potentially deadly situation.
On February 14 2019, I went outside to warm up my car. 10 minutes later while the car was still parked the whole engine was engulfed in flames. Fire department was called to put out the fire. No recent work had been done to the vehicle. The only work ever done in the 4 years I owned it were, new tires, new battery (in the back seat) and oil changes.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving various speeds, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle and the traction control indicator illuminated. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was diagnosed by emich Chevrolet (2033 s wadsworth blvd, lakewood, CO 80227, (303) 647-5376), but a failure was not found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.
Multiple times the car has just lost power. The dash goes crazy with lights and warnings. Chevy tells me there is nothing they can do because there isn't a code and they can't replicate the problem. Twice I have been driving and this has happened and once when I pulled into a parking spot. Now it does shift really. It revs the rpms, jerks, sputters, and puts while trying to turn or accelerate. Its so scary because its the only vehicle we have to fit us and our newborn. I hate chevy refuses to acknowledge an issue.
The car has started to do a shimmy and then the car completely turns off and won't start again. There is always gas in the car, and the oil is changed regularly. The car has been taken to a local repair shop to address the issue. I was told that there is a small electrical connection box under the gas tank that was filled with dirt and getting poor contact. The small box was cleaned out and electric conductive gel was used. The car didn't have a problem for about 9 days and then it started to do the same thing as before. It has turned off mostly when the vehicle is moving. The latest time this happened was 11/6/2018.
2014 Chevrolet Traverse. Consumer writes in regard to multiple malfunction to vehicle that causes random deceleration and acceleration. The consumer stated the engine light, stability and the traction light came on. The car reduced speed to 20 mph then to 0mph.
Vehicle was in motion when suddenly lost power and started flashing these warnings, traction control service, park assist off, stability control service.
Was driving on highway all of a sudden car starts shaking and slows down push on gas can barely go over 35 service light come on for stability trax service stability trak get to a safe place of the highway and turns car off turn car back on still says stability trax engine almost seems like it will cut off pressing on gas with full tank and car barely moving car slowed down dramatically when it first happen could have caused an accident went home read to turn car off wait a while and see if lservice light would come on went away took to a mechanic even though it doesn't say fix the service stability trax had a friend run codes by doing an diagnostic test came up thru diagnostic test to take to dealer and have them fix it. But doesn't flash anymore about stability trac right window will not roll up passenger window.
Vehicle has lost all power on 2 separate occasions within 2 years. The first event was on a highway at 75 mph in 2018 and the second time at a busy intersection where the speed is 45mph in 2020. Once power is lost , brakes and steering do not work. Each time the vehicle was towed to a repair shop for repairs which included replacing the fuse box and providing better bolts to hold it securely in place.
The vehicle will all of a sudden go into low engine power mode, traction stability turns on and it limps - dealership states they can not recreate issue so can not fix. Several times to dealership each time they can not fix and it is running fine. All of the internet same problem with same vehicle. This is a huge safety issues as it has occured on the highway and an intersection before. It is very dangerous. The vehilce is not operatable during the eposide. You stop the vehile let it sit for a brief minute and it will start up and drive normal. When it happen this morning on the freeway it was very dangerous as it cause a stopage on the freeway in rush hour traffic and limping to the side at 5mph is scarry crossing lanes. This is a know issue and the company is not doing anything about it. Please help!!!!!!.
2014 chevy Traverse engine, traction control, stabilitrak: vehicle dash says "reduced engine power" and shuts the engine off while I'm still driving and in traffic. This occurred while I was crossing a busy side street, on 2 state roads, and other places. After turning off the engine for 30 seconds or so, I can restart it the vehicle and continue until it occurs again. I've taken it to the dealership twice. The pcm was replaced the first time after 3 days of keeping the vehicle. The second time, it was kept over a week and the pcm was replaced again. The same issue occured within 24 hours and has repeated several times.
Vehicle stopped working as I was driving reduced power speed service stability track trash control service that's what popped up.
Highway speed, hit moderate pothole and received multiple error messages in the display "engine power reduced" "service stabilitrak" "service traction control". Engine barely running/running rough. Brakes have no power assist. Vehicle struggling to maintain 20mph and hard to get off the freeway. Appeared to be complete ecu malfunction. Had to abandon car in a public parking lot and have someone pick us up. Vehicle was towed to local dealership and yet they can find no fault codes, thus releasing the car with no work performed. . Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving approximately 55 mph, the check engine and esc warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle lost acceleration. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, the vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The vehicle started to lose acceleration again and was driven to the contact's residence. The next day, the contact drove the vehicle to apple Chevrolet in tinley park, illinois where it was diagnosed that the throttle pedal accelerator sensor failed and needed replacement. The contact stated that the same failure occurred in February of 2017 and was repaired by apple Chevrolet in tinley park, illinois. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
While driving down an exit ramp on a highway, suddenly a warning light chimed and the service stabil-trak/service traction control/reduced engine power messages come up. The car starts to reduce speed until it gets to 10-15 mph. It also starts running and idling really rough. I was able to limp along to a parking lot. When this happens, the car will not drive anywhere. It has to be towed. Then somehow when it has been turned off for a while, it suddenl runs fine and the problem can't be duplicated. Just got it back from the dealer after having for a week. The car only has about 36,000 miles on it. This is the 5th time this has happened.
While driving at 55 +mph, the car suddenly dings and service stabil trak, reduced engine power, service traction control suddenly come on. Car drives perfectly fine before. The car suddenly shakes and idles really rough. The car shakes while idling and all heat is lost. The inside windows of the car become impossible to see out of due to foggy windows. This is the 4th time in about a month that this has happened with this car. The first time, an ignition relay was fixed. Three days later after getting the car back, the car did it again. The second time, a crankshaft sensor was replaced. The third time was again about 2-3 days after getting it back from being repaired. The third time, the battery was replaced as well as a remote starter removed. Some wiring was repaired. The car suddenly lost power in the afternoon for the 4th time. This has happened at different times of the day. The car is unable to drive and has to be towed to repair show/dealership for repair.
While driving to work, I had slowed down behind a bus and as I started to accelerate and car suddenly shuts down. The engine light, stabil trak, traction control off, reduced engine power messages come on. The car suddenly slows down leaving 1-2 minutes to get over. Once this message comes on, the car suddenly starts to shake hard all over and idles really rough. If I try to shift it into any gear, it completely shuts off. The car is inoperable and has to be towed. Mileage estimated at 35,000.
While driving my 2014 chevy Traverse my stability track light and engine light came on loss of power the car jerks cannot control it can cause an accident happened more than once this is November 1, 2017 that happened or five times already call today to complain to chevy my car is now the dealership trying to figure out what is wrong with it.
Service stabilitrak, reduced engine power, traction control off warnings all came on with no warning or reason. Vehicle lost all power and wouldn't move. This is a known issue with many chevy models and years.
I bought this car used with 39,400 miles on it 4 mths ago. While pressing on the brake it makes a very loud and annoying sqeaking sound. I returned it to the dealership to be looked at and they stated it is in fact the master cylinder affecting the brake, and it is a known chevy Traverse problem that should be recalled.
Engine power reduced, stability track loss lights came on and my vehicles engine power came to a stop with my children in the car with my wife on the hwy. Could not move the vehicle. Dealership can not figure out the issue, only found multiple codes from the past and still could not solve the issue. Gm needs to stand by their product and replace these vehicles ASAP or fix this issue. Lawsuits will be filed.
This report is related to a known and widespread computer glitch in late model gm cars. The glitch seems to be triggered by other system faults when the car is in motion causing multiple failures rendering the car unable to maintain speed over 20 mph or so and also affecting the braking system. Please watch this video https://youtu. Be/hbvaoiixnxy and then read the comments. This has been going on for years across a variety of gm models including the 2017 Traverse. It is a major safety issue as the cars become seriously incapacitated when the glitch occurs. There is no clear failure occurring and there are no faults recorded in the car's modules making it very difficult to diagnose and repair. If we didn't have the video I took to prove it was happening the dealership would have sent us away again. Please watch the video, everything you need to know is in there. People continue to comment on our video because it is still happening! there is a report for a 2017 Traverse in the comments section! thank you!.
