Automatic Emergency Braking Problems of Chevrolet Traverse - part 2

Twice my car has activated the forward assisted braking while crossing railroad tracks. Both times it was immediately after a train had passed and it was clear to proceed. Both times my car came to an abrupt halt on the tracks with other traffic behind me. I cannot proceed until I tap the brake. And I’m worried I could be rear ended if it happens again while crossing during normal traffic.

2 issues: 1: brakes did not stop car nor did the abs braking system kick in causing the car to not stop on full demand! 2 cars slammed on their brakes at a yellow light instead of going thru causing a small number kiss was going 35mph and when braking, car didn’t fully stop and out brakes tho to the floor. Abs did not kick in. No lights on dash board. 2: the very next morning, the traction control light came on saying service the stabilitrak, traction control. The car ins denied it was from car accident. When the traction control light comes on the dashboard, by itself) it causes the car to automatically brake when accelerating whenever it chooses to come on causing it to be unsafe in traffic. You cannot control the button to turn it off. This has been an issue coming on and off at random to current.

I stopped for gas and when I went to start the car and leave, the parking brake did not disengage. I was stranded. This is the second issue I have had with the breaking/gear shift on this vehicle. It is a lemon.

For the already known air bag recall for my vehicle, I have called gm and clearly stated how uncomfortable and unsafe I feel driving my vehicle with such a dangerous malfunction that is meant to save my life, not take it. They told me there was no way they could help, but for me to be patient. I live in a bumpy and windy area, and from other reports, I know can set off the airbags. As for the automatic braking system, we were driving on the freeway with no vehicles or objects in front or even beside us when the system kicked in with the red light and alarm sound while braking immediately and even had my steering wheel lock up. I was able to regain control a minute later, but we were close to a curve in the road that I may have not been able to turn with my steering wheel locked up, as well as a vehicle behind me having to hit their own brakes and quickly change lanes due to our vehicle suddenly braking. I have been to a dealership for diagnosing but they told me they could find nothing out of ordinary. Given I did not trust these mechanics as they have lied before to get money from us and have missed other problems that were easily diagnosed at another mechanic we have seen. Our small town only has few choices of mechanics or dealerships.

While driving the emergency collisions system locks on the brakes with nothing in front this happened a few times while normal driving when I tried to accelerate again, it wouldn’t let me.

As I was pulling out of my parking space on the street a car was coming toward me and the forward collision alert lights and sound went off as well as a terrible grinding started as if it was trying to brake as I was driving but not slowing me down. This has now happened 4 times. The first two times there were cars coming toward me but we were not in jeopardy of a collision. The grinding only stops once I remove my foot from the gas pedal. I took it to the dealership after the 2nd time and they checked the brakes and couldn’t recreate the issue and said everything looked good.

Due to the ems recall it has caused the abs to malfunction went to two dealerships more than four times was told to pay in order to have my car fixed due to ems recall service provider: due to the ems recall it has caused the abs to malfunction per ems recall this can be fixed free of charge. I am being denied by both killeen and temple chevy dealerships.

Vehicle turned in front of our Traverse we where traveling approximately 30mph struck other car broadside and no air bag deployment? but odor of airbag in our vehicle was present. But there no deployment visible? body shop states no issues with airbag system. But they are replacing airbags in repair of our vehicle. "the airbag systems are faulty and unsafe".

When applying the brakes the vehicle feels like gears are grinding and the car is breaking harder than I am applying pressure on the brake pedal, and I can feel the vehicle shuttering and grinding to a stop through the pedal. The vehicle does stop, but a warning then displays on the dash "brake assist activated". This warning displays everytime the brakes are used. Only have disabling the forward collision break assist does the vehicle then drive normal. This issue has occurred twice now once in town driving 30-40 miles an hour and another stopping coming up to a light at intersection.

Traction control light turned on and car speed decreased from 55 to 20 on wet freeway, car skid into side rail. Turned car off then back on traction control light off and able to drive away. Chevrolet repair shop was not able to detect problem since traction control light was off (actual date unsure but this is 2nd time I'm posting this on this site).
