Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chevrolet Traverse based on all problems reported for the Traverse.
I was traveling on the interstate going 70mph and it felt like my chevy Traverse lost power with no other symptoms or sounds prior to this happening. All maintenance was up to date. The car was officially in "limp mode" with only being able to travel at 20-30 mph on a busy interstate. Reduced power, service stabilitrak, service traction control and check engine lights all came on for the first time. At the service department in the dealership, it was diagnosed as a faulty high pressure fuel pump. High pressure fuel pump, fuel rail, front timing cover and engine oil pan gasket were all the recommended parts for replacement. All of which was related to the faulty fuel pump.

I keep getting multiple random engine misfires that there seems to be no solution to fix the problem. The vehicle has been to the dealership several times. Runs for a while and starts acting up again. Stalls out when attempt to take off after coming to a stop or just starts to move and goes real slow, also has trouble getting up hills due to loss of power. Keep getting told it's catiloc converters and have replaced 3 times in last year. Have also replaced spark plugs and coil overs as well as fuel pump, mas airflow sensor, map sensor, oxygen sensors, and a few other things. Seems there is a lot of people with the same issues but no fix. . . .

Fuel pump failed at 65000 miles resulting in lose of power. Also I am getting a metal squeaking sound almost like a bad pulley bearing from under the hood when I accelerate.

I received an alert that some 2014 Chevrolet Traverses had a recall that required a computer update; however, researching my VIN # shows no recall. I have experienced several electrical type issues that was explained to me that the computer system is losing contact with several modulators. So far it has been my power train modulator, fuel pump modulator and my on-star modulator. I strongly feel like this is a manufacture defect and that a recall should be issued to correct the problem. No accident has occurred at the time of this complaint but I feel that it won't be long before I have an issue that will result in an accident.

Despite showing over a quarter of a tank of gas, I ran out of gas on my way to work. I got the vehicle into the dealership the next day 8/18/17 (stanley Chevrolet, mccordsville, in). They replaced the fuel pump at that time and said the problem would be solved. This evening on my way home from work the same thing happened. I am now sitting on the side of I-70 in indianapolis hoping I am not injured while waiting for aaa. Please look into this problem as I have already called the dealership back and they are saying they are unaware of any problems that would cause this.

It is a known proplem that gm makes fuel pumps with fuel sensors that fail randomly and often. I know one person who has replaced it four times. Ours has failed. . The fuel gauge now doesn't work, and sometimes the vehicle will reject fuel. My wife has been stranded with our children in one hundred degree weather because of this. The dealer wants a thousand dollars to replace it, because they insist on replacing the whole pump and dropping the fuel tank to do it.

Engine/drivetrain > engine power reduced at 70 mph miltstipek 01:12 pm 09-05-2017 I want to report a very dangerous and safety hazard that we recently experienced with our 2013 ltz Traverse. On July 23,2017 my wife and I were driving on interstate 80. Driving in the middle lane going 70 mph. All of the sudden bells were ringing and dashboard alerts lit up. (traction control off, service stabilitrak, engine power reduced) our speed went from 70 mph to 10 mph in seconds. The traffic behind us were swerving all around us to avoid a serious accident. We were lucky no one was killed. We were finally able to get off the road into a truck weigh station. Our Traverse was towed to the nearest chevy dealer in frankfort,IL. Low and behold there wasn't anything wrong with the traction control or the stabilitrak. We were told that the codes were for the high pressure fuel pump and sensor. The ecm should not have these three problems routed together. There should be some sort of alert for the high pressure fuel pump before it it a problem and the engine speed dropped. The ecm should be reprogrammed so that it does not drop the speed down that fast. Please get this fixed before there are major fatalities! gm you have been warned! (this is another person with countless others with this experience - fix it or you will have their blood on your hands) do the honorable thing please!.
Check engine light came on in car. Code stated that it was the fuel pump control module. When I researched this issue I found where gm recalled hundreds if not thousands of vehicles to include chevy Traverses during the 2010 model year because of faulty fuel pump control modules or (chassis electronic control modules). Gm recall, bulletin # 14515b. I spoke to several gm dealers in town who gave me the run around about how this was not a safety recall because of faulty parts but an "informational bulletin". Long story short I had to pay 300 dollars to get a new module programmed. The damage would have been a lot worse if I would have let them run more diagnostics prior to fixing the issue. I complained to gm who said there was no recall on my vehicle and referred me to NHTSA. From what I understand the module can become contaminated because of wet conditions. On June 12, 2017 cheyenne wy had a very large hail storm that my vehicle was caught in while driving in the city and the module may have gotten wet causing the problem. My complaint is that gm recalled this same part on all these other vehicles to include 2010 Traverses but for what ever reason my VIN number is not included. I believe it should be because my vehicle had the exact same issue as to why they recalled all these others. I still have the faulty module if anyone wants to check it out because it is the same part and part number which was recalled. My vehicle should be included in this recall and I should be reimbursed my money for this repair.

While exiting a store parking lot onto a city street, at night, going approx. 40mph , I had my 3 young children in the vehicle and my SUV suddenly loss power. It shut down completely, in the middle of traffic, with out warning. Luckily the car behind me seen what was going on and did not rear end me. I tried to start the vehicle up and it wanted to turn over but couldn't. The engine light came on and it started to smell of gasoline. The people in the car behind me, helped me by pushing my car out of the way of traffic into a parking lot. I called roadside assistance and had them tow my truck to my house since the dealship was already closed. The next morning, they towed it to the nearest chevy dealership. The following day the dealer diagnosed it with a fuel pump flow control failure, and told me it would be $ 965. 00 to repair. I have only owned this vehicle for 6 months, and it only has, 70,000 miles, with a manufacture powertrain warranty still. So I called gm, and come to find out there was a recall on the same year make and model as my SUV, for the same problem/part, but because the recall is VIN specific, gm will not pay for the repair. I put in a service request and have spoken to 7 different people, with 1 supervisor advising me that they were going to contact the dealership and see what they could do to help get it fixed. That was 4 days ago, never heard back from anyone. I called today and the lady I spoke with, said there was no notes indicating that anyone was working on a solution, or of anything they promised to do. The only thing she said was my vehicle wasnt covered under the warranty and there was nothing they could do. So now I am very upset, I haven't been able to get to work because this was my only source of transportation and I wasn't provided a loaner, I do not have the money to fix it. Can someone please help??.
I was driving on a state rd with my toddler when unexpectedly the car began to abruptly slow down. I was almost rear ended by another car that swerved to avoid hitting me. The engine light came on with a message engine power reduced, traction control off, stabilitrack needs servicing. I was in the middle lane and with cars flying by it was terrying trying to pull off safely. The vehicle would not increase in speed when I press down on the accelerator. After pulling off I immediately turned the engine off waited a few minutes and tried to start the engine again but received the same messages. When I put the car in gear it struggled to move. I turned off the engine again and then waited 10 minutes. Upon restarting the engine light came on but no other messages were displayed. I was able to get the vehicle home and took it to the dealership on 3/30/17. When I brought the vehicle in the engine light was no longer on. The service advisors called a few days later and stated they could not duplicate the problem. They only noted that the engine mount needed replacement and this could possibly have caused the problem. My vehicle was out of warranty so I paid believing this would solve the issue. Unfortunately it happened again driving on a city rd and I was nearly struck from behind again and struggled to safely get off the road. This time my husband and 2 other children were in the vehicle. I was able to take pictures of the same dash notifications and after getting it started I drove it straight to the same dealership on 3/17/18. I showed them the pics and was adamant I would not get in the car again unless it was fixed. They assured me it would be fixed this time. A few days later they stated the fuel pump fuel lines and fuel pressure sensor had to be replaced. After my second experience I found several similar complaints. This is a safety issue that needs to be recalled.
On sept. 17 2016, while driving along the interstate at 70 mph, the car's engine slowed dramatically and stability track, traction control, and slow engine warning lights began to flash. The car would not accelerate. I managed to get the car to the side of the interstate and turned it off. I called roadside assistance immediately and the technician told me to turn off the traction control. There was a pungent smell all inside the car of gas and other fumes, but I did not see any fluids leaking from under the vehicle. The technician told me to start the car with the traction control off. I rolled down all of the windows to lessen the odor. The car started as usual and I started back down the highway. Within 3 miles the car stopped again, the same warning lights began flashing. I had lost several gallons of fuel in 3 miles. I got the car to a parking lot off the interstate and it died and would not turn back over. When I tried to get it to start, the ignition got stuck and would not stop trying to turn over. The car was losing fuel and would not run at all. The dealership said it was a fuel pump issue and they replaced the part several days later. On Nov. 11, 2016, as I drove to work this morning, I was at a red light and when I pushed the accelerator and nothing happened. The car began flashing the exact same warning codes as in sept. The car would go about 5-10 mph and I was stranded in a 6 lane intersection. I turned off the traction control and managed to get the car into a parking lot, once again. I am very lucky that I have not had a severe accident when this has occurred. Someone is eventually going to get seriously hurt or killed when this happens. Also, this same vehicle's backup camera will turn on while I am driving down the street. When it turns on, the car switches out of drive, while I am driving forward. I have videoed this happening.

I was driving on the 95 and suddenly my car was flashing reduced engine power and the check engine light popped on. Our speed dropped all the way down to 20 from 65. I have seven children who driving in the car with me and were horrified at all the traffic around us while we tried to coast to the side. Thank god no one hit us! the check engine light is still on and we have replaced the trottle body, fuel pump, and a few other thing that popped up on the diagnostic testing for the check engine light. 16 codes popped up all at the same time. Way too expensive to fix everything and pay payments or the car still. Please help.

Remote lock transmitter stopped working could not reprogram - had to buy new one 0n 1/19/15 at same time asked to check surge of vehicle when drivg 40-45 mph - could not diagnose. On or about 2/15/2015: check engine light on - next day car would not reverse -again in the driveway -pushed car to road drove to dealership. Needed a transmission-only 62780 mi. On car-no choice had to fix and no help from gm in michigan - "could not help me" car is not even 6 years old -bought in December 2009 and cost $3473. 19 to fix. Also again replaced fuel pump after exactly one year - under warranty. . . . . . Am very unhappy and dissatisfied with this car and feel it is unsafe to drive. Gm is aware of transmission problems due to wave plate broken & metal going thruout transmission causing damage which was indicated on my receipts. Lots of problems with 2009 thru 2011 Traverse. Am retired on social security and a pension not exorbitant - bought this car for me and my three young grandchildren and thought this would be my last car to purchase - was I ever wrong. . . . . .
