1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 09/12/2020

This is a recurring issue: today while I was driving my vehicle on us 98 in gulf breeze, FL I made a left hand u-turn in a 45 mph zone and the vehicle suffered severe fuel starvation. I started the u-turn out of a complete stop. Even with the accelerator pedal floored it took the vehicle over three seconds to recover. This happened with over 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Luckily, I gave myself plenty of space with approaching traffic and I had a left hand turn lane to use or else I would have been in an accident. This issue has only occurred when committing u-turns. The vehicle gave no indications to any problems. I have brought this issue up with the dealership where I bought this vehicle and either they can't duplicate it or gm is not going to fix this problem until there is a lethal accident.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/16/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the control arm failed and was replaced at felix Chevrolet (3330 s figueroa st, los angeles, CA 9000, (213) 290-1925). Also, while driving, the vehicle made an abnormal loud noise coming from the front driver's side. When fueling the vehicle, the tank would not fill up. In addition, while the vehicle was in reverse, the brake pedal became difficult to depress. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times, but was not diagnosed. The failures recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The VIN was unknown.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 09/10/2018

The gas gage/sensor in the tank is messed up. The gage will show that I have just under 1/2 a tank but when I fill up it takes almost 15 gallons. I believe this is an 18-20 gallon tank. There has been instance when I have had 1/4 tank left, filled tank completely and the gage took over 48 hours to reset. I looked to the gas used/left digital read out and it said I had used 60 gallons on a 1/2 full tank. Dealership I bought it from is aware but made no offers to repair.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/27/2018

Recall (14007) repair was supposedly done may 2014 at jeff gordon Chevrolet in wilmington, nc. Car was put in the shop October 2017 at same place for same problem that prompted a recall, inaccurate fuel gauge reading. Extended warranty covered repair this time. Instrument cluster was replaced and problem fixed, according to jeff gordon Chevrolet. June 27, 2018 - we ran completely out of gas even though fuel gauge showed a quarter of tank remained. Car shut off. Thankfully we were not in motion. We were sitting in a customer's driveway. Jeff gordon Chevrolet will not cover repair, we have been told we are financially responsible. How can an obvious issue that was part of a recall not continue to be covered?.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/15/2018

Engine light is on and does not want to start when I fill up the tank.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 01/06/2017

Gas tank does accurately show how much gas I have left. The fuel gauge constantly fluctuates. I was driving and my mile range showed I had 54 miles worth of gas left. I made a stop and the car was idling and when I got back in the car it showed I had 89 miles worth of gas left. When I got to my destination I got the low fuel warning message. I have watched my fuel gauge and mile range go up incrementally while in park. This issue is the same issue as a recall with later models and it can cause a terrible accident if my car stalls or shuts off because there was not as much gas in the car as the gauge states. Similar recall below with same exact issues. Recall subject : inaccurate fuel gauge reading report receipt date: Apr 30, 2014 NHTSA campaign number: 14v223000 component(s): electrical system , fuel system, gasoline potential number of units affected: 51,640 manufacturer: general motors llc.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 08/31/2016

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. When the fuel tank was filled with fuel, the fuel gauge failed to display the accurate reading. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v223000 (electrical system, fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,543.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 11/13/2015

Vehicle fail/do not get the mpg as indicated on the sticker when I purchased the vehicle in November 2015. Sticker indicated mpg, 17 city, 24 highway. Gm used the same tactic as vw to sell the 2016 Traverse. They are now saying oops. We printed out the wrong info on the window sticker. I purchased the vehicle based on the mpg printed on the window sticker. Now I am told you will not get that mpg. I am now be cheated out of 44 miles per tank of gas. This will add a costly expense to me over a 20 year period. Gm should provide with a Traverse that get the mpg I contracted for when I purchased the vehicle, 2016 Traverse.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

Fuel gage started reading half full no matter if. Tank full or empty. Digital miles left to travel match a half full tank.

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 08/31/2015

The fuel gauge started fluctuating at first after going from drive to park. The fuel gauge reading would be off anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 of a tank. The first problems were the gauge undercompensating for the actual fuel in the tank, then overcompensating, now it goes back and forth. Now the problem is no longer limited to when the car is in park, I never know how much fuel I have while I am driving. This is a very serious and potentially dangerous situation. It is an ongoing daily problem.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/12/2015

On my 2011 chevy Traverse on the fuel gauge once the fuel level reaches a half tank it suddenly drops to empty. It is hard to read the fuel level after that because honestly who has time to sit and calculate milage used everyday (I know I don't) I have read on other forums that this was happening on other years of Traverses and was told to report it. Even if the car sits for awhile it won't read the correct fuel level that is until fuel has been added to above the half tank mark.

12 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/29/2015

We bought the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse used with 99,000 miles on it. We noticed that on the car fax, other than just routine maintenance, the car had its fuel tank replaced. We questioned it, but did not think we would have problems, as the car was well taken care of. Every since we purchased the vehicle, when we fill up the car, it does not register on the fuel gauge correctly, if it registers at all. We cannot take long trips in the car without having to stop every so often and put gas in it, as we dont know how much is in there at any given time. This is a major concern to us. I see that there is a recall for the 2014 vehicles, but I also see that this has happened alot with the 2011 Traverse's, but no recall has been issued. I am hoping with this additional complaint and ongoing problem, that something will be done before someone gets seriously hurt, if they havent already. I do not know who the previous owner of my vehicle was, but they obviously had the same problem, hense replacing the fuel tank. Chevy, please issue a recall for this.

13 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 09/08/2014

Fuel gauge shows 3/8 of a tank and computer shows 175 miles to empty and it runs out of gas.

14 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 10/28/2011

I ran out of gasoline while driving but the meter said that the tank was half full. Since, I have run out of gasoline a total of 4 times since owning the vehicle. I am the original owner.
