Failing front exhaust pipe mounting bracket. Gm has a special coverage program (n212356540) for 2019-2020 Chevrolet Traverse which covers the repair for 15 years or 150,000 miles from the original service date. The coverage is VIN specific. My vehicle has been having this issue for two years now and my VIN is not covered. This is unfair to the consumer/Chevrolet owners who's VIN's are not listed. This is an obvious ongoing problem for many Chevrolet Traverse owners, it should be an active recall on all 2018-2023 Chevrolet Traverse owners. Especially since Chevrolet/gm is aware of the problem. Most of us are paying off our vehicles because we can't afford a new one and gm is not providing assistance for some of us who at no fault of our own are having to pay for a defect they are aware of.

I am reporting a dangerous failure of the fuel supply control module in my vehicle, which caused the engine to stall and cut off during acceleration while driving in heavy, 45-60 mph traffic. While I was able to have the issue diagnosed and repaired by newman’s auto—with an invoice available—I believe this 44,000-mile vehicle experienced a premature failure. Given that this component is currently recalled on similar Chevrolet suvs and trucks, I believe this model should be included in the recall. I can be reached at [xxx] or [xxx] for further information. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Approximately four weeks ago on 02/03/2026, during rainy conditions, the brakes on the vehicle did not function properly, creating a serious safety concern. At the same time, a hose connected broke and there was a strong burning smell coming from the vehicle. I also noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, and the vehicle remained there for approximately five days for inspection, parts, and repair. Additionally, this is now my third time bringing the vehicle in for service. During previous visits, I asked the service department about the condition of my brakes because they were making a squeaking noise and I was concerned about their performance. I was told by the service department that the brakes were fine, that I still had plenty of brake life remaining, and that the squeaking noise was normal. However, as of March 4, 2026, my vehicle displayed a new warning message stating “service brake pad monitor – front brakes. ” this is concerning because the vehicle currently has approximately 25,490 miles. Given the previous brake concerns I reported and the dealership’s response that the brakes were normal, the new warning message raises additional concerns about the safety and reliability of the braking system. Because this defect involves the braking system and creates a safety concern, I am requesting that general motors review my case under the applicable lemon law and advise me on the next steps toward either a vehicle replacement or buyback if the issue cannot be fully resolved.

The exhaust system on my 2018 Chevrolet Traverse has failed due to cracking in the exhaust pipe and/or muffler assembly. This appears to be consistent with known issues in similar model years where exhaust pipe brackets separate and cause cracks or holes in the exhaust system. The failure has resulted in excessive exhaust noise and potential exhaust leakage. The dealership has confirmed the issue and recommended repairs costing several thousand dollars but stated my VIN is not included in the existing recall or special coverage. Yes, the vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. The failure of the exhaust system creates a risk of exhaust gases, including carbon monoxide, entering the passenger cabin, which poses a serious health hazard. Additionally, a compromised exhaust system can affect vehicle performance and emissions, and in some cases may increase the risk of fire if hot exhaust gases escape in unintended areas. This issue is especially concerning because it has been identified in other model years of the same vehicle, yet my vehicle is not currently covered, despite experiencing the same failure. This creates an ongoing safety concern for myself, my passengers, and others on the road. The problem been reproduced and confirmed by a certified chevy dealer.

This has happened two times. Driving down the road between 35-55mph. "speed limited drive with care" no cel. Took to dealer, advised with a cel or no codes nothing they could do for it. Multiple nights I get home and the fan stays running after engine shutdown. Engine overheat within 10 min of drive time. Oil smells like fuel. This time engine throttles back and nearly caused accident with not being able to merge.

Vehicle: 2023 Chevrolet Traverse the vehicle has a recurring safety-critical defect. The steering assist becomes reduced while driving and the dashboard displays the warning message “steering assist reduced – drive with care. ” at the same time, multiple safety systems such as collision-avoidance functions become disabled. This failure is persistent and creates unsafe driving conditions. The vehicle has previously experienced electrical and fuel-system related issues, including fault codes such as p2635, p0e32 and p0e37. There have been multiple warranty repair attempts, but the defect continues. The warning remains active while driving and the vehicle may lose steering assist, causing unpredictable steering effort. This presents a serious safety concern for the driver and public. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist and active safety systems. While driving, the vehicle repeatedly displays the warning “steering assist reduced – drive with care,” and multiple safety systems become disabled, including collision-avoidance functions. The steering effort changes and the vehicle becomes unpredictable. This is a recurring safety-critical defect. The vehicle has also experienced electrical and fuel-system related faults, including codes p2635, p0e32 and p0e37. Warranty repairs have been attempted several times, but the defect continues to occur. This failure places the driver and others at risk because steering assist may be reduced while the vehicle is moving, and safety systems deactivate unexpectedly. The vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty and remains available for inspection. I am requesting review of this recurring safety defect affecting steering assist, electrical stability, and active safety systems.

-the radiator hose malfunctioned and began to leak fluids onto my garage floor for 7 straight days. -my safety as well as others on the road were at risk because at anytime my vehicle could have lost all coolant and overheated. -the problem was confirmed by the service team at my dealership when I dropped it off for diagnosis. -there was absolutely no warning lamps or messages prior to failure. The only symptom was the leaking from under the car on the front driver side. The issues first appeared on Saturday November 29th 2025.
Ome customers may complain of a rattle or exhaust noise, a cel/mil on, or repeat concerns of lean codes or converter failures. The cause for these concerns could be a broken or poor weld with lack of penetration on the bank 2 exhaust. Issue is exact same as listed in bulletin pip5681a.
Active gm coverage on exhaust falling off, does not include all vins affected. My car is affected by this exact issue reported and refusal to fix or repair issue, because VIN “not included” (n212356540) is gm special coverage for exhaust falling off that isn’t including all vehicles affected.
The car feels like it’s bouncing everywhere on any kind of surface and now there is a loud very loud rattling noise coming from underneath the car and the car starts shaking excessively if you try to accelerate.

Ive got this vehicle on 5/12/2025 and all of this need to be done catalytic converter replacement. During inspection found loud exhaust on startup. Upon further inspection found bank 1 catalytic converter cracked causing exhaust leak. Both exhaust front pipes damaged as well(broken mounting brackets between both pipes) . Recommend replacement of catalytic converter and both exhaust front pipesbrake system fluid exchange-performed pressurized fluid exchange of old brake fluid, removed moisture and air contamination from brake system. Installed new dot specific fluid to meet manufacture specificationsautomatic transmission service fluid exchangecf - cooling system service 6830/5881-01 includes flush cooling system, pressure test, check hoses, cap and check connection. Install cooling system corrosion control kit drain old transfer case fluid and replace with new fluid rear differential service this should have been done when the dealership got the vehicle, and it should be gm or berger responsibility. I am sure this was an issue to begin with.
After fueling car the starting continue turning over after you release button. Now while drivering it hesitate sometime loose power steering. And when stopped and the car dies when it does it’s stop /start now there a delay in continuing on and now brake light come on when it start back. Sometimes lose power and if you disconnect cable to let car reset light goes off until the start/stop and repeats process with park light back on ect.

I have had to repair the muffler and now the catalytic converter. There was a fissure on the muffler and now there’s a fissure on the catalytic converter.
Exhaust pipe leak and break that caused a crack in the catalytic converter.
On [xxx], my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse (VIN [xxx] ) experienced a complete transmission failure. The vehicle began to hesitate, jerk during acceleration, and then completely lost the ability to shift or drive. It had to be towed, and the dealership confirmed that the transmission must be replaced. This is extremely concerning because gm previously issued recall 20v668000 involving missing bolts in the start-stop accumulator of the transmission, which can cause fluid leaks and loss of propulsion—a potential safety hazard. Although my VIN does not show this recall as active, the symptoms and failure seem directly related to this known defect. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether this recall should be expanded or reopened to include more affected vehicles. In addition to the transmission failure, I have had to replace the purge solenoid valve three times due to persistent check engine lights and fuel system issues, which suggests deeper reliability issues with emissions and vapor management. Lastly, there is now a hole in the exhaust pipe, which is affecting performance and may pose a safety or environmental concern due to potential carbon monoxide exposure. These multiple powertrain and emissions-related failures within the same vehicle raise serious concerns about the long-term safety, reliability, and manufacturing quality of the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this model year and VIN range further. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Fuel pump issue that is cause engines to stall while driving or not start after placing gas in the vehicle. It is having the battery run low and car die or stall and stop while driving. It will turn your check engine light on.

Prematurely damaged exhaust system. Identical to special coverage adjustment n212356540 front exhaust pipe but my dealer and gm says that my VIN it’s not coveted.
This vehicle's canister purge valve solenoid has failed multiple times since we purchased it used in 2021. We've taken it to multiple Chevrolet dealerships for repair and the issue has not been fixed. The issue is once the part fails, the vehicle is unable to be filled with fuel completely or it sputters when trying to start and the engine turns off or it stalls right after placing into drive. This causes a safety concern. There are multiple articles all over the internet and social media about the purge valve solenoid specifically in 2018 Traverses with no recalls. This is disappointing!.
Check engine light code p0496 evap. Emissions system, high purge flow.
I believe my vehicle should be part of the recent gm recall for defective fuel pumps. I have been experiencing issues with my vehicle surging during acceleration, and stalling during idle. This has happened at stop lights and is a safety concern.

Owned brand new vehicle for 48 hours. Fuel injector failure on cylinder 4 at 120 miles on the dash. Check engine light was on. Vehicle is currently at dealership. Engine unreliable/unsafe. Dealer confirmed. Dealer stated up to 10 days waiting on parts. Unknown if further damage has been caused. Wife states vehicle had a rough idle. Diag code p0300, p050d.
Evaporation system is defective and the canister purge valve does not close completely resulting in environmental toxicities put into the air. A check engine light on and after 3 fixes the issue is still present.
I took my truck to the dealer back in 2022 for the specific reasons that the truck is being recalled now but my vehicle doesn’t qualify for the recalls. My vehicle has been having the same issues as the 2019 chevy Traverse recalls and I just saw that my truck is also leaking transmission oil which is linked to the 2019 recall but my truck doesn’t qualify. It started smelling like it was burning during the freeway drive today and when I got home, I noticed the oil leak I drive around 15 to 20 miles a day driving six children in my truck for safety and my truck is no longer safe to drive. I want to know why when I took my car in 2022 for the specific issues. They told me that it was pretty much all in my head that my truck was running fine and now I come to find out there are these recalls in effect, but my truck doesn’t qualify when the check engine light is on in my car for the specific reasons. I did contact the dealer where I took my truck in 2022 and they do have the paperwork to prove that I took my car and they told me someone would call me back to see what was going on. This was four days ago and nothing has happened and they also didn’t email me the paperwork like they told me they would.
The vehicle start stop feature is malfunctioning (I have a video) . When stopping or coming to a stop after driving through the city, at random times sometimes back to back when being stopped it goes down to 1 rpm then the auto stop feature kicks on and when it's time to depress the break to move again it malfunctions then sounds like a circular saw slicing through metal. At times you have put car in park hit engine ignition button to make it stop then wait a few seconds then start it back up. There's also a smell of strong fuel vapors coming in through the vents including defrost. Navigation stopped working ( turn by turn ) feature, also sounds as if the front end is knocking around going over speed bumps, the front right wheel has an odd rub sound that increases when accelerating. The gas also with a full tank depletes nearly within a day, and ait being a v6 should not guzzle $50 in fuel of 87 grade petrol. This thing is a rolling safety hazard. I have a wife and 6 children I transport daily. If something happens and we are injured I will sue your entire company general motors.
1. Driver side exhaust flex pipe braket 2. Exhaust leak 3. Yes. It has been replicated and diagnosed. 4. No engine light. There was a rattling and increased exhaust noise. A hole in the exhaust pipe at the bracket location was found. 5. This condition seems to be a common problem with this year and make which I am now having to pay $600 to repair.

Torque converter is bad. Codes will not come up when test ran. Mechanics mis diagnose the issue until it’s too late. Mechanic now doesn’t think it’s worth it to replace- wants whole new transmission.
Failed catalytic converter. I have had this part repaired multiple times and there is still a leaking issue. I have receipts from both auto repair shops and the dealership showing that this is an ongoing issue.
Purchased the 2020 Traverse on [xxx] from basswood in ft. Payne alabama. Under the guise of the salesman I was assured that the vehicle was in great shape, with no issues at all, and a very clean carfax. Well I'm new to purchasing a car via financing with a CO-signer in which he was assured the vehicle was in great shape. Well unbeknownst to us my household the car was nothing of the sort. Within a few days the start/stop malfunctioned to the point it would not restart 98% of the time without sounding like a demo saw, it's a dangerous problem and there's times we smelled fuel once we were able to restart the vehicle. The front right wheel assembly looks as if it were on fire and if that's brake dust and it has a grinding whomp whomp sound when in motion, that's really not good no wonder it's hard to stop at times. The front end sounds like drums when going over bumps, speed bumps, road imperfections etc. . On morning start-up there's an absurd amount of exhaust coming into the cabin area, the codes [p3055 and p3056] are registered from the computer of vehicle. Now the smell of fuel is blowing through all vents whenever the defrost is running or all vents are used front and rear, with the truck in motion. It was so bad today that my entire family had to pull over to a gas station and get fresh air our eyes were burning and my [xxx] son nose started to bleed. , so that's two parents and 6 children scrambling for safety. This is our only reliable vehicle other than an old 99 suburban that is hardly even road worthy anymore. I spoke with several people that have purchased vehicles and all agreed that the salesman and mostly the sales managers knew that the vehicle came from an auction and was never serviced nor inspected at the basswood dealership, which equates to them actively concealing major effects and problems with the vehicle in question. Just to make a one time commission on a fraudulent deal! they didn't provide any inspection papers to me! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia.
I have had to replace my evaporative emissions purge valve 3 times on this my 2019 chevy Traverse. I have had it for a year and a half.
I took my vehicle to the shop for noise while driving. It was diagnosed as a cracked flex pipe. Upon research, the 2019 and 2021 models had recalls for the same issue, but not 2020. I did find a bulletin from gm including all models of Traverse stating the cause could be a faulty weld. My vehicle looks the exact same as the bulletin. This is a safety issue as a hole in the exhaust can cause exhaust to backflow into the cabin. I'm very lucky and thankful me and my kids have not yet been medically affected.
The transmission keeps stalling when the auto engine turn off comes on and I try to hit the gas. The transmission end cap had to be replaced. Then the shift to break kept going off when I was in park.
After buying 2022 Chevrolet Traverse premier started to notice a hissing noise. When I got somone to look at it I was informed that the weld on the bracket had broke. Since then due to vibration my exhaust manifold has cracked and I was quoted almost $2500 to repair it. I have noticed that I'm not the only one online but it's dealing with this issue that there are several people that have the exact same issue.
