They stated that the part autimatically just comes back down in a slaming motion. The contact attempted to open the tailgate but the device made an abnormal clicking sound and slammed down on its own quickly, no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. The tail gate lift assist no longer works, to lift it I'm lifting the whole weight of the tailgate. It won't stay open, so I have to hold it up while trying to put something in the back. There is a recall on this for the Traverse, but my VIN does not appear to be included.
