When driving early in the morning to drop off my kids to school, we are driving on a highway, crossing a bridge, no cars on either side, no houses either, when all of a sudden the rear left window has a loud pop, and then shatters completely. This was an exploding window out of no where, with nobody around and no other cars near by to cause this accident. The glass fell all over my body and I could not move until the vehicle was safely pulled over. This was concerning because my 1 year old was sitting next to me and the glass could have fell onto them if they were sitting right next to the window just like I was, and that was a safety concern. I called the dealership to let them know what happened right before my eyes and they said there was nothing they could do for an explosive window. I asked if there was issues with this happening to other people with an 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, and provided my VIN, they said no recalls so again, nothing they could do. I mention maybe a default in defroster or manufacturing issue of installation problem, and they just said no over the phone. They did mention they had another lady who came in with the same problem, a window shattering for no reason while driving, but that “things like that happen normally”. Despite having other people with the similar issue, I was given the cold shoulder with no resolution.

Passenger side window shattered with the cold.
Following an overnight snow storm, I completely cleared the vehicle of snow and ice including the windshield and hood while running the vehicle to get it to operating temperature. During my morning commute, snow, slush, and water began accumulating on the windshield and froze to the outer four to six inches on both sides. The wiper edges were clear from the night before, as I had raised them off the windshield. They were able to maintain a clear view in the middle of the windshield. I ran the defroster at full temperature, the "hi" setting, with the fan speed at 6 out of 8. The external temperature was 14 degrees fahrenheit. Driving speeds varied from 30mph on county roads and 65mph on the interstate. The front defroster vent does not run the full width of the vehicle, so there is no way to apply warm/hot air to the outer edges to keep it from refreezing and maintain full visibility. This creates unsafe driving conditions by narrowing the forward view.

I looked up 2012 chevy Traverse recalls and 4 things came up. I was very happy to see that because I have all 4 problems recalled. So the next day I called chevy to schedule the work. They informed me my car has no recalls. I told them I knew it did I looked it up and there are 4 in total. Then I said luckily for me it is recalled because I am experiencing exactly the same issues with same effects from the issues that was posted with the recall. Then the lady explained to me that you recalled 2012 chevy Traverse on 4 items yes but none included my model. That is absolutely insane because my car is doing all the same things that was considered too dangerous to continue in all the other trims the car was made in but for some reason I'll never understand my trim was excluded. . . . Plz fix this the LS trim needs all the same recalls. I have every one of the 4 issues and I've been all over the 2012 LS Traverse forum to see I'm far from alone here.
My complaint is in regard to the climate control system on my 2019 chevy Traverse. I chatted with will of the Chevrolet customer service center on October 10, 2021. The problem is that the system will not keep the windshield clear of fog in certain weather conditions. During the chat, will said that he couldn't do anything unless I had taken the car to the dealer. I believed it is a design flaw, because my son owns the same model and year of Traverse and has the same complaint. (I have previously owned 2009 and 2012 Traverses and did not experience this problem. ) the next time I took the car to my dealer for service 12/14/2021, I told the service dept about the problem. According to the service request: "all functions working as designed at this time. " the service manager told me that this is a common complaint. He suggested using the "max defrost" button (which bombs the driver with air), turning on the ac to take the humidity out of the air, and turning up the temperature. We have had this fogging happen at many times. But is not something that can be replicated, because it is dependent on the weather. The time I complained in October 2021 was particularly scary, because I was bringing my husband home from surgery late at night from montefiore hospital in pittsburgh. The hospital is about 2 hours from our home and is not a trip we make on a regular basis. It happened on Friday, may 6, 2022 again, when my husband was going to monroeville, PA for a check-up with the vascular surgeon. It was one of those "all day rains" and the temperature was in the 52-58 degree range. I think we both had a stiff neck the next day after having the max defrost blasting all the way to pittsburgh and back.

On Friday Jan. 15, 2021 I drove to my son's house and parked my 2016 chevy Traverse SUV outside my son's house at approx. 12pm. No one was driving the car and the engine was not running. At about 6:45pm a car passing by noticed a fire on top of the hood on the driver's side of my SUV. The person knocked on the house door to let us know that the car was on fire. We called the fire dept. The fire dept. Was able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. The firefighter examined the scene and told me it was caused by the wiper motor. The police also did an investigation. Evidence technician said he did not see anything suspicious about the fire. We looked on line and saw that the 2016 chevy Traverse has a recall for wiper motor fires. When I put in my VIN number they said my car was not part of the recall. I called chevy and they told me I had to go through my insurance. My car had $3600. 00 worth of damage and was towed to gerber collision where my car was repaired.

Main window switches have failed and the wipers do not work on the highest setting.
When weather is slightly humid / wet and around 50 to 65 degrees, the front windows constantly fog up to the point that both defrosters and wipers are inefficient. This creates a safety and visibility issue especially at night. No amount or speed of defroster addresses the issue. This has been observed on my vehicle as well as many others, creating a safety and operability issue. The issue is on the exterior of the window, possibly from a film or ventilation issues on the interior. No amount of hot or cold temperature addresses the issue other than a wiper runnign constantly, even when it is not raining or wet outside.
The airbag connector piece under the passenger seat comes apart triggering. Airbag light on. Dealer charges over $100 for a problem that keeps happening. This issue is also listed on every forum so t's a common issue. Wiper fluid doesn't extract clogged nozzles.
Purchased a year ago in FL. My windshield came loose twice already where you can see the padding in the dashboard area again. The tire on driver side has to have air in it several times after driving about 20 mins. Pressure keeps reading at 26 and alarm going off with the problem. Husband refills and three days later I move the vehicle and it happens again. Windshield you can hear air leaking from it. Several times when I started my car it had a weird engine noise loud acceleration even when sitting in my driveway. I read no recalls but possible class action pending if you refuse to fix the vehicles. I will be over 36 months before my car reaches 30k miles. I drive to and from doctors, grocery shopping. Casual driving.

The first time my airbag light came on and stayed on for several weeks and then one day was not on. Just recently on 5/15/19 my service air bag light came on again. My car has not been in an accident at all. My windshield wiper fluid will not disperse as well wiper arm hand was replaced lines were checked and fluid in the reservoir and still no fluid available which affects visibility when anything splashing on the windshield. The service airbag light came on suddenly one day when I started up my car.
One day just starting my car noticed service airbag light came on and never went off. My vehicle has not been in an accident where any airbags were deployed. I have also noticed Mini complaints online about the same problem. I also noticed a recall for my model for airbag issues but dealership says my VIN number was not included. My windshield wiper fluid will not disperse as well wiper arm hand was replaced lines were checked and fluid in the reservoir and still no fluid available which affects visibility when anything splashing on the windshield.
The windshield washer fluid mechanism on top of the hood along with the fuse is faulty. Fuse as well as mechanism motor have been replaced and still no water will come out to clean the windshield. The air bag light is now on all of a sudden stating to service airbags.

The electric in the vehicle has shorted out and made the headlights stop working in the middle of driving home in dark. The next day the passenger side wiper stop working and you have to turn wiper on high to even get driver side wiper to work. The door locks with not unlock or lock doors as well as windows won't go up and down.
Many issues from the day that I bought the vehicle. 1) noticed front windshield and or driver side window having lots of air noise coming in and wind can be heard as im driving. 2) the auto start does not function correctly when going turns off and about to drive off it tumbles/shakes. 3) hearing a noise on the driver side front part of the vehicle that can be heard on the inside as im driving. Sort of a knocking rattling sound.
The engine started running like a old, old tractor. I was told the motor keeps losing oil pressure known that type engine has problems but yet no recall. I spent thousands of dollars to pay for a new motor and installation on this. Just got that fixed and now the transmission went another expense on my part. What next!! this car is a lemon law problem!! what can I do about it? please help!! wheres the recalls?? this 2012 Traverse is scary to drive not known whats next going to happen on the road. Cant go anywhere that involves distance. . I was stalled in the intersections in town on a busy street with little children and an elderly lady.

Windshield defroster does not defrost 1/2 of the driver's side. Ice/snow remain completely intact. It has to be completely scraped and will finally start to clear when I continue to use washer fluid/wipers and inside of vehicle warms. This also happens when the outside temp drops and all window interiors fog/frost. This does not clear until interior warms completely. This could take 1/2 hr. Interior frost has to be scraped that leaves fog behind. I've had to drive all the way to work with windshield not clear. Dealer has checked multiple times. Tech detected that there is no defroster air flow to that side. Unable to correct. Was told entire dash would have to be removed and that repair is being denied under warranty. Pics show both sides after defrosting for 20 min.
Wipers stopped working when I was on the road. Still continue not to work. Which is not fun to drive. Hoping for no rain. Not sure why mine doesn't have a recall being its in the snow state and they are replacing a part. So I am suppose to pay for it myself? another issue, our windows don't want to roll up back up. Our back right window has gotten stuck down. The button back there and in front won't bring it back up. We have to try it for like an hour, turning the vehicle on and off, reaming on the buttons to get it up. If there is a short circuit somewhere? we can't adjust our mirrors. Assuming an electrical issue with all of this.
Vehicle is registered in montana, one of the states listed in recall #12v151000, windshield wipers becoming inoperable in cold weather. Check shows my vehicle is not subject to this recall, but my problem matches it exactly. Conditions, -12deg and light snow. Vehicle has been idling about 10 min with defroster on. I brushed off windshield and cleared come ice that had collected on the wiper blades and at the base of the wiper arms. When I got in the vehicle and turned on the wipers, the arms would not move. I purchased the vehicle used 6 months ago, so I don't know if this has happened before. I believe the only prior owner was also in montana.
I was driving on the highway when I heard what sounded like an explosion and it turns out my sunroof exploded. It shattered into hundreds of little pieces but luckily it did not fall through.
Wipers will only work on high. Thee is no low or intermediate.
Went for an oil change and then noticed my coolant reservoir completely. I contacted oil company and topped coolant off. Next day went to work and oil company came to inspect the car and coolant empty again. Went to oil company after work and was advised to go to dealership as it appears to be a water pump leak. Next morning went to shaheen Chevrolet and paid $101. 86 and the advised it was my water pump leaking at shaft weep hole. I research3rd and found recall 13079 and contacted gm at 18002221020 and s/w anna and was advised its not a recall but a customer satisfaction program. And that I had the customer satisfaction on 4/19/2014 and it only carried a 12 month warranty. However since this seems related they will assign my case to a senior advisor . . . Case 8-3280633041.
