Evaporative emission control system part had to be replaced 3/19/2025 at my repair service at which is a certified chevy dealership service center. My engine light came on so I had the service advisor check the codes, and I had poor fuel mileage as well, for about a month. Apparently, the advisor didn't know there was a recall I only found out through my roommate.

Digital display & information screen goes black, you can't see anything at all. I had an issue with my Trax not to long after I purchased it had to take it back to dealership told service manager about it, nothing was done about the display. With the display out you couldn't read any warnings at all not even temperature and blown my engine. My Trax didn't have regular gages. The dealership had free lifetime powertrain warranty, now they don't want to put a new engine it.

The contact owned a 2019 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked on the right side of the 2 vehicle garage when it suddenly caught fire after approximately 1 hour of being parked. A popping sound alerted the contact and her spouse to the fire. The garage was unfinished with a gravel floor and no outlets when it caught fire, and there was property damage. No warning lights illuminated. The fire department was called to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire. The fire department had put fire department was unable to determine the cause of the fire. The vehicle was towed and totaled due to the vehicle being consumed by the fire. There were no injuries or medical attention needed. The dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer had sent personnel to take pictures of the fire and have the vehicle inspected. The manufacturer opened a case for the failure however, the case was closed due to the manufacturer not finding a defect for the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.
My touch screen and odometer. They periodically go black while driving . This is a safety hazard to me and my family . Yes this affects the safety of my family due to the screens over heating and going black where I can’t see speed or anything . Yes the car has been taken to dealer ship for many issues I have had . No it has not only the dealership . No signals at all.

I’ve had my 2025 chevy tracks for less than a year at first having issues in January 2025. I was driving back from my son‘s birthday party and the entire dash just went black. I could not see the mile per hour I was going and I could not see my radio my entire front dash just blacked out for almost a minute. I was driving at the speed of 70 miles an hour when this occurred putting myself and others at risk I was able to pull over on the side of the highway to see the issue going on with my vehicle. I turned off my vehicle and turned it back on thank you. Maybe that would resolve the issue, but it clearly didn’t. I contact gm. I contact the dealership dutch miller and explain to them the issue that did did occur. I took it into a shop. The dealership looked at it. They updated it the system in my car. Which I thought that resolved the issue for a few months and now I’m back to the dash going black when I’m driving, took it back to the dealership again and they said that they couldn’t find any issues and we just gotta wait until a recall occurs with gm. Been contacting general motors about this issue. This is a safety hazard and extremely dangerous when you’re going speed limit at high speed and you cannot see anything on your dash it is terrifying and scary especially when you have your family in the car. Hopefully gm gets this fixed. It’s a brand new car should not have any issues.

Since purchasing vehicles it looses coolant I replaced the coolant pump due to small crack and thought that may have been the issue but it’s not I have to put coolant in it at least 2 to 4 times a month when check at the dealer they said they could see anything how ever I did my own looking up online and it said that these vehicles have issues with leaking water pump I have had this car hoping and praying no damages come from something that can’t be seen.
Infotainment and dashboard system lags, freezes, loses connection and completely blacks out while a device connects to the vehicles wifi.

Engine oil cooler leaking with no dash lights causing burning plastic fumes only when sitting at an idle to enter car cabin causing passengers to feel unwell at times. With no warning lights for specific leaks or overheating warnings caused high repair bills at the shop. Also, probably causing engines to malfunction earlier than normal since the only sign is the smell of something burning when at an idle and no other warning signs that would be cause of concern to a mechanic or owner. This would only happen if the recirculating outdoor air.
The paint is peeling on the 2016 chevy Trax. When I looked up the issue, I noticed tons of people had complaints about the same paint color for their chevy Trax. When they called gm about it gm said they didn’t get any complaints about it and made excuses. There is a pending lawsuit from lawyers based in florida. I’m calling that number next. I went to the car wash, and when I came out from washing the car, I noticed paint had fell off two spots on my driver side. I went to the local chevy dealership they sold me a paint pen and it’s doing a very poor job of covering it up. Apparently this paint in particular has a known issue and gm is not taking responsibility for it. I also noticed on this vehicle that I had just purchased less than two months ago also has paint touchup around various spots of the SUV.
Passenger speaker went out and the dealership won't do anything until a recall happens.
Ac not working causing internal temperatures to be in excess of 105 degrees in the cabin during summer days in florida. I am not longer able to transport child as well as myself because it causes us to get heat exhaustion making us ill. Reason for failure is so common apparently on newest generation of chevy Trax that their is a national back order with no date of resolution. I am no longer able to use the car during the afternoon. Chevy has no resolution.
My vehicle lost all its antifreeze. It was the day before filled to the proper level in the overflow container. The idle engine alert came on. When I opened the hood, no antifreeze coolant in my square overflow bottle. My vehicle has 58, 000 miles approximately on it. I purchased at autolenders in turnersville, NJ at approximately 32,000 miles on it. When purchased autolenders replaced the air conditioning unit & they replaced a radiator because I smelled antifreeze. My concern is related to the 2015-2019 recall by the NHTSA. Repair of my vehicle may be over $3,000 estimated. I need your assistance.
My car, which as of today, July 6, 2024 has a mileage of 45349, and is experiencing issues related to the evap purge pump under speed. I see that there is already been a recall on multiple models of the Chevrolet tracks, but not mine as it is a 2021 and not a 2020. I have owned this vehicle for two months, and have kept up with all of the maintenance as instructed. But I figured that this malfunction will lead to further damage, including but not limited to blown head gasket or blown engine.

The air-conditioning is not working confirmed by chevy dealer. First time I was told it need refrigerant/freon; worked for approximately 2 weeks and then brought to another chevy dealer and was told the ac evaporator needed to be replaced. The ac evaporator that needs to be replaced has been on order since 7/9/2024. We have had heatwave upon heatwave and still no part. I have a compliant in with gm and they have no date as to when the part will be made or where the order stands. Every week I get the same message "I am not seeing any status change. We are still experiencing a delay on the ac evaporator". They have used the excuse of covid and strike (which strike was 6 weeks). But we no longer have covid or the strike. This is going on for two months. How many other ac evaporators are being made? I am sure the new cars are getting them. I can still drive vehicle, however in the afternoon hours it is extremely hot and I hope I don't pass out on way home. This is a safety concern.
The driver information center in the cluster intermittently goes completely black or glitches while driving. It will go into all white dots, completely black out, or be garbled. You lose the ability to monitor your speed digitally and it causes issues with safety because it will change in and out at random times and you are forced to change your attention to the needle instead of focusing on the road. No warning lamps or trouble codes present. I have not contacted the manufacturer but have had a mechanic inspect it and he cannot find a cause but thinks possibly is an electric short or fault module. This began happening in June 2024 and is now getting worse and very unreliable.
On [xxx] our nearly brand new ice chevy Trax spontaneously caught on fire and was destroyed. The check engine light had come on on may 30 and we had, as the manual said we should, set an appointment with our dealer to check it out. It was not flashing and the car was running fine. My wife took two of our grandkids out on [xxx] and drove a few miles doing kid things. Then I took the car for an 8-mile round trip and came home, parking in our driveway. The only unusual thing I noticed was that when I set the parking brake I did not hear the usual sound that function makes. About 15 minutes later my wife screamed that her car was smoking. I ran out and tried to get the garden hose to water the engine compartment, which the smoke was coming from, and growing quickly. Water didn't go down below the hood well and the paint started smoking then blistering. I tried to get water into the engine compartment from under the car but could not, and nothing was burning under the car that I could see at that point. (I could not discern the under-hood source of the original fire. ) then flames appeared and I had to back off. We had called 911 at once, of course, and the saline fire department arrived and put the fire out with their big hose. By that time the entire engine compartment was destroyed, the windshield smashed, and both front tires had exploded. Vehicle’s digital dash will go completely black, will not respond to touches, radio will intermittently disconnect from apple carplay. Radio replaced, problem persists. Yes the problem has been duplicated on numerous occasions by two separate dealerships and no resolution has been reached. No warning lights, no notifications, just sudden disconnection and reconnection or disconnection without any reconnection of device with non-responsiveness and occasional blacking out of screen on car. This has been ongoing since the purchase of the vehicle in may 2024, still no resolution.
The digital cluster went out I see that the 2024 model has been recalled for the same issue why isn’t the 2020 models also included just had the car in the hutch chevy service department and was quoted $665. 00 to replace, I am unable to see the speed I am going or any menu items because the digital readout isn’t showing.
I was driving between 35 and 45 mph and ran over a manhole cover. The rear of my vehicle began to fishtail. I pulled into a gas station and upon attempting to leave my vehicle failed to drive forward. The car was still on but would not move forward. I had it towed by flatbed to the local chevy dealership where it was determined that the rear suspension swing bar has separated at the weld. If I were traveling at a higher rate of speed on the highway this could have been deadly. The current recall for this problem only mentions the front control arm but for the same issue. My car has been inspected by my insurance and the incident does not match the damage and I'm fighting to not have my vehicle considered totalled. There were no other warning signs or issues prior to this.
Check engine light comes on. The car jerks or lunges when speeding up or slowing down. As if in the wrong geer. 104,000 miles.

P2138 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch "d"/"e" voltage correlation loss of power on the vehicle , gas peedle has been replaced , proplem persits his condition may be caused by water intrusion into the instrument panel (ip) to body harness connector, which carries the app sensor signals to the ecm/pcm. This water intrusion results in a voltage difference between app sensor 1 and app sensor 2 that exceeds a predetermined value for more than a calibrated period of time, setting p2138. ".
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, the vehicle failed to emit an audible chime, indicating that the seat belts had not been fastened. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal clicking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the passenger’s side upper control arm. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v652000 (suspension) and NHTSA campaign number: 16v422000 (electrical system, equipment) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,000.

Hello so recently just after an oil change my cars check engine came on. I check with the app, it stated both a stabli-track issue and an emission. Which those 2 things don't connect in any way I know, they are 2 different systems. Then I went to a local auto parts store, autozone. We check the engine code and it was an emissions issue. It was my vapor canister purge valve malfunction. The other thing that this issue cause a rough start when you 1st the car in the morning. That sometimes it causes the stabli-track alert on the dashboard to come on, for a couple of moments. The reason im contacting you about this. Is because that the app is telling the customer me that there is 2 issues that specific issue comes on and that if no fix right away. The rough start up will cause the stabli track alert to come on. Even though it is not a stabli-track issue.
Vehicle hesitates upon accelerating. Have had it at dealership/ mechanics 4 times for the same problem without a solution. Has created numerous unsafe situations when it does not accelerate as expected when pulling out in traffic.
My Trax 2018 was leaking a fluid . My mechanic advised me that it was my radiator ,compressor and condenser . My mechanic proceeded to look into this for me and said there was a special coverage to take care of this from gm . But when I took it to serpitini they said my VIN doesn’t match . So I have to pay ifor it yo get fixed . Only has 52,159 miles on it. I feel I shouldn’t have to pay for these parts since they were defective ,and my car was made at another plant !!!.
11/12/2023 loss of power when driving up a hill. - felt some backwards drift. 11/13-14/2023 shuttering vibration and engine revving during acceleration but no forward movement. 11/15/2023 total power loss when attempting to merge with traffic.
The initial problem was a defective shifter. It took over a month for a Chevrolet service department to get the vehicle in and fix the problem. By the time I brought the vehicle in to fix the shifter, the transmission was hesitating to switch gears, jerking at highway speeds and overall failing to shift and accelerate properly. This high speed jerk causes the seatbelt to lock up and hit my chest-causing pain while driving. This defect has caused pain, soreness and stiffness in my chest and neck. Dealership 1 (coggin Buick GMC of orange park- jacksonville,FL) was notified upon drop off and did not fix the transmission issue. They claimed the only issue they found was the shifter. Dealership 2(gordon Chevrolet- orange park FL) has made 3 attempts to locate and repair the problem and were “unable to duplicate the concern ” I have additional documentation from dealer 3(carmax jacksonville west-jacksonville, FL) where they have duplicated the concern 3 times on a 1 hour test drive. Chevrolet/general motors are not taking accountability despite the vehicle still being under warranty.
Unknown. On October 23,2023, at approximately 1:10am, car was parked and off, received notification that alarm was going off. When I check the vehicle, it was in flames. Boston fire dept extinguished the fire. Police report was made the following morning, October 24,2023. I've contacted gm and I am still awaiting response. Car was a brand new 2024 chevy Trax. Geico insurance reported it to be total loss.
Cable that controls thermostat to temp knob in car broke and gears that run system stripped.
I have had the car for two weeks and now the driver side window has completely stopped working. I can’t roll the window up or down.
My check engine light came on at about 46,000 miles. The mechanic showed me that the oil was burned at looked like chips of metal. He said that the turbo charger was cracked also. He replaced everything and flushed the system clean. He video taped the whole repair process. Now, 8,000 miles later, the check engine light is back on and the very same problem has repeated itself. I looked on the internet and found hundreds of blogs with thousands of consumers with the same problem. All of them state that the turbo charger cracks, leaks into the coolant, over-heats the engine and burns up the oil. They all state that the repair is about $3,000. 00. I paid extra for the wireless android system on my car so I would not be tempted to text while driving and stay hands free as 3,522 people were killed in 2021 by distracted driving. The wireless android has not worked since I purchased the vehicle on 8/29/2023. The local dealership has identified the radio as the reason and has one on order. The part has been on order since mid-October and there is no expected delivery date. I tried contacting the Chevrolet resolution center directly and never received a response. I then contacted the bbb and after the bbb contacted Chevrolet received a response from the Chevrolet resolution center. The representative could not provide an expected delivery date and promised to check with the local dealership and keep me updated. I then contacted my state's attorney general's office and then sent in a complaint to Chevrolet. A Chevrolet representative contacted me but could not provide any helpful information. That representative informed me the radio was not made by Chevrolet and that Chevrolet has no control over that vendor and had no way to track the order. The rep also stated she would check with the local vendor and provide regular updates as well as give me some Chevrolet award points as an apology. Chevrolet is not taking care of issues with their vehicles. The Trax forum has many entries from owners with similar issues. Given the regularity of ads I see on television and billboards concerning the dangers of distracted driving, and the hands-free laws in effect, I feel passive connections such as wireless android connections are an enhancement to driving safely. Chevrolet is trying to shift the responsibility to the local dealership even though the local dealership has done everything they have dome to order the part and are following Chevrolet's procedures. Chevrolet is not fixing their issues and neem motivation from a higher authority.
