Failure Date: 06/05/2002

Key was put into ignition by a child, and child was able to put vehicle into reverse without having to press on brakes, causing vehicle to roll back, and almost hit another child. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.

4 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 07/21/2001

My car was in park, not running, keys in the ignition. 5yr old son was in vehicle, trying to turn radio on car shifted out of park with out the brake fully depressed. Owners manual states to shift out of park brake must be fully depressed. Son was in between front bucket seats, unable to reach brake when left arm hit shift bar into neutral. Thanks.

Vehicle was parked in driveway with engine running, driver reportedly put vehicle in park, child in child seat in rear seat, driver carried package in house, vehicle went down driveway forward across highway and into ditch. Vehicle jumped out of park into nuetral while ignition was off, and rolled backards down a hill 150 feet. Vehicle has been at GMC dealer for a month, and problem still has not been resolved. Please provide any further information.

Failure Date: 05/05/1999

While driving on an incline or hill, vehicle will roll. The dealer has attempted to repair vehicle several times , but the problem still exists. Also, automatic sliding door shuts on passengers when they are getting in/out of vehicle. Also, sliding door locks on its own. The dealer repaired vehicle. Manufacturer has been notified.

10 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Venture

My van would be all right until I would come to a stop light or stop sign and then it would start to lurch and it felt like the motor was in a diffrent gear. If I would turn it off it would work fine. It would not do it all the time - it cost about 537. 00 to fix it. And it was a pres control solenoid.
