1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 09/26/2022

In January 2022, I noticed white smoke coming from the engine and a mechanic said it was the water pump that needed to be replaced, so I have it replaced. Recently, I noticed the same white smoke coming from the engine and took it back to the same mechanic who installed the water pump. The mechanic said it was the intake manifold that caused the white smoke. I decided to take it to another mechanic to see if the first diagnosis was correct and that mechanic confirmed the first mechanic's diagnosis and my previous experience with another gm vehicle (1997 vhevy lumina) that had the exact same problem: water pump went out and intake manifold also started to fail until the lumina's engine was fried.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 01/12/2018

The engine rpm surges without pushing the gas. The engine will gradually propel the vehicle to around 50-60 mph with no mechanical movement of the gas pedal. This happens about every day or two. Have to put the car in neutral or firmly press the brakes to get the velocity down. The car is in motion and stationary when this happens. It happens sporadically. Changing all types of parts and still no resolution. I also see alot of the same issues on line with other owners of this vehicle.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 09/30/2008

I was struck from the back, while taking foot off the brake, I attempted to proceed from a stop sign in shopping mall. Due to delay, from a bad transmission from day 1 when I first purchased vehicle from felix Chevrolet, la CA it holds up traffic. I took my foot off brake after stopping at stop sign and it appeared to driver that I was moving forward. Yet, the delay causes danger from behind and I'm still encountering delays from the date of purchase, 2006 up until now. Felix denied anything was wrong with after I complained and had them test transmission problem within 30 days of purchase. I've been very dissatisfied with performance and quality of vehicle from day one. When accelerating from a stop the vehicle severely jerks. The transmission fluid and filter have been replaced with no change in the condition. The vehicle had around 60,000 miles when I purchased.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 03/24/2007

Rear deferintial went out than front deferintial went out. I can not find a shop to fix front deferntial because they do not have the tools to take apart. A chevey dealership has made a suggestion that I replace the whole transmission. I have owned this van since Feb. 2006 and I've had to replce the air condishtion motor (about $950. 00) the rear deferintial (about $1400. 00) and now about an other $2000. 00 to put a used front deferintial. The air cond. Motor was new, the rear deferintial was used I could not afford to buy a new one it would have been $3500. 00. I beleive that I am paying for a lemon not a good working van. Please help me find out what I can do to have a recall on this van or if gm should be paying for replaceing these parts.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 10/14/2005

The recent gm recall of 2004 - 2007 cobalt and other vehicles for ignition switch problems now makes my issues in my 2004 Chevrolet Venture van potentially make some sense. There have been multiple occurrences of the problem over the years but it sounds similar to to the above recall. Some of the incidents occurred on the highway (70 mph), some happened on the dirt roads we live on (25 - 35 mph). The engine simply stopped - no power of any kind. The engine could be restarted by shifting into neutral and turning the key. It did not require a complete vehicle stoppage (although it did occasionally cause a nasty squeal from what I assumed was the starter motor). The car was purchased used from a dealer so I do not know if the issue occurred during the first year of so of the vehicles use. I think the gm investigation needs to be expanded to other models. VIN can be provided if needed.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Venture

Failure Date: 03/10/2004

This is a follow up of acomplaint filed on 3/10/1997. After several conversations with chevy corp. They have advised me that they will offer no assistance in repairing my Venture. The dealership has advised me that repairs will cost a minimum of $2000. Add this to the $7500 that I still owe and I will owe $9500 on this van. I am amazed by the denial of chevy corp. With all of the complaints by consumers who have blown head gaskets from dex coolant. I am asking that someone please investigate this matter!! this should not have happened with only 75,000 miles on this van. That's an average of 12,000 miles per year, and I have doccumented proof of regular maintenance. I have also had problems with the brakes, sliding door, seat latches, and electrical problems with power windows. I will never by another gm product again!!.

Failure Date: 02/10/2004

Our van suddenly overheated coming home from work a couple weeks ago and totally shut down. Our dealership says that we need new gaskets and the heads are worped due to the engine getting so hot.
