Car wouldn’t turn off kept saying shift to park. When car was already in park on chevy Volt forms this problem is common, sometimes it comes on when driving and freezing the steering wheel. Chevy knows how wide spread this problem is as attested by the many class action law suits, but the refuse to fix it or issue a recall for cars outside of warranty.

Sometimes after I have shifted to park and push the power button, an error message displays on the dash reading “shift to park” and the car’s power will not shut off. This happens frequently. It will usually take multiple tries of shifting to drive and back to park before the car will recognize it.
