Engine Shut Off Without Warning problems of the 2013 Chrysler 200

On multiple occasions the car has just shut off on its own while in motion. This has happened at least 10 times. Does not matter what speed you are going, the engine will just shut off on its own. The most recent incidents were on a highway going around 55mph and happened twice within a 8 minute period. The first time was going over a bridge and the car shut off. Waited about 3 minutes and the car started. 5 minutes later the car shut off again. Did not restart for another 10 minutes.

Car shut down when slowing and turning and randomly. There is not warning and car will not immediately start back up. Mostly on city streets but in traffic areas and curved roads. So when turning left and slowing down for that turn it just shuts down and I barely make to pull it to the side of the road and I had to have it towed home when it wouldn't start back up right away. This has happened 5-6 times in the last 3 months after I have purchased the car from instant auto.

My engine keeps stalling when I decelerate or come to a complete stop. It has done this multiple times in just one week and it's very dangerous. I slowed down on I-77 due to something laying in the highway and my engine shut off. I had to hurt and put it in neutral to crank it back up. Thank god it crunk it in time to keep me from being hit by another vehicle or semitrailer truck.

Tl-the contatct owns a 2013 chyrsler touring 200. The contact stated that the vehicle had been shutting off so the contact had the battery replaced and researched and also checked the altinator. Twice the vehicle shut off while on the highway and the contact had to glide the vehicle to the side of the road. Both times. The contact had to try multiple times before the vehicle finally restarted . The dealer and the manufacturer had not been contacted for this issue. The contact had seen on the web that this vehicle had this issue with the vehicle not starting for a variety of reasons and different repairs that have been very expensive. The failure mileage was 42,000. Tf.

My vehicle shut down on the highway at a high rate of speed (70mph). My steering was also not working at the time. Was able to finally pull over. Restarted the vehicle and it was fine. This is very dangerous.

I was driving in the middle of the street when the car just shut off completely. The car stall I had to call the tow truck and the police for help because I couldn't even put my emergency lights on. I waited for 2 hours and suddenly the car went back on. The car like if nothing ever happened. It was scary luck that I wasn't on the freeway with my children at that time.

Car shut off while driving 70 mph on highway, car will no longer start engine completely locked.

The engine completely shuts off without warning when at an idle or slowing down to make a stop. It has done this now about 12 times within the last month. My car just made it to 53,000 miles and has always had regular oil changes and maintenance. So far, I have been able to put it in park and restart. I was taking my daughter to school yesterday and it stalled in the middle of the road and the engine died. The first time that it ever happened I put the car in reverse to back out of my driveway and it died three different times. No warnings or lights. I have taken it to a mechanic shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They ran a diagnostic test and. . . Nothing. The engine has died and stalled 3 times since being in the shop.

My Chrysler 200 2013 touring stalled on me while coming to a stop at a stop sign I was stuck in a intersection for almost an hour and had to direct traffic around me so I wouldn't get hit. This is not the first time this has happened. This is the 5th time my car has stalled on me and I've only had it for 2 months, stalled twice on busy intersections I could have died. It stalled on me while I was going 55 mph and the lanes were so tight I almost couldn't get to the side of the road without getting hit and when I finally did the lanes were so close that I couldn't park on the side of the road for safety without being terrified someone going to come down the hill and not see me and hit me. Also I was just doing a beach cruise one time and it stalled on me I had to park and wait like a hour and 30 minutes for help. Another time I was doing a right turn onto my house and the engine just shut off so I had to make a wide right turn with barely any steering power could've been a major accident. The car just loses it power and shuts off without any warning. I've gotten a diagnostics and nothing showed wrong with the car, but there is something wrong. I've seen many of the same problems people are having online and the problem is not getting fixed at all. I'm seeing people replace fuel pumps, starters, batteries, alternators and no fix for the stalling just wasting money. Thousands of people online on sites are struggling with this car. People cars are stalling on them and are almost getting them killed. Chrysler is not doing anything to help these people, no recalls on the car and people are taking their cars to the dealership and wasting money because the problem still occurs even after the dealership. Really sad there needs to be something done with these cars my life is in danger and I'm only 19 years. The Chrysler 200 needs to be recalled very dangerous car.

Vehicle engine shut off while driving and making a right hand turn.

My husband was driving in the fast lane on the expressway with out 3 grandchildren in the car and the engine just shut off. . . They all could have been killed had he not manage to coast the vehicle onto the side of the road. . . Took a trip to take my granddaughter to college 2 hours away and the engine again shut off while driving. . . Because of this malfunction I have to stop driving my car and this is outrageous because I am afraid something will happen to my family if we continue driving. This has happened to us at least 5 times and we have sit for at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before the car starts again.

I was driving down the highway leaving work, I got up to roughly 55mph when my car just shut off while driving down the road. I was told by the dealership that the alternator failed without warning. They can not give me an explanation as to why a vehicle that is less than 2 years old and less than 30k miles suddenly stopped without warning. There is currently a recall issued by Chrysler for this exact issue but my vehicle is not one of the ones covered under the recall according to Chrysler. No check engine or check battery lights prior to the incident. At the time of incident nearly every light on my dash lit up and the vehicle just shut off, the speedometer went from 55 to 0 and I was luckily able to coast off of the highway without incident since I had just gotten on and was getting up to speed I had not left the right lane yet. Had I been anywhere else on the highway this incident could have easily led to serious injury or death. I have spoken with the dealership and they claimed there is nothing they can do for me, I have also spoken with a lemon law attorney and was informed that since it did not end in serious injury or death that it must happen again before they can help me. I do not feel safe putting my wife or infant child in to a vehicle that just shut off at a speed of 55mph.
