Air Bag Light On problems of the 2016 Chrysler 200

One minute the airbag light will be on then the next it will be off. It's something with the passenger side every time someone sits there or move the passenger seat. It continues to go on and off. I have searched on the internet for any recalls but didn't see any. I did notice that other people are also having problems with this on either both, or just one side of the car. It's not just me having a problem with the airbag. I think this should be a safety hazard and needs to be recalled to be fixed.

The service air bag light came on a couple month out of no where at first it would come off and on now it's on constantly.

My service air bag light has come on several times in the last 3 years of me owning this car. Regardless of being in motion or parked. I have taken it in to a dealer and even they said they receive this problem far too much and said I will have to come back for them to clear the code. Olease repair this before it cost my life or someone else's.

The seat belt indicator stays on. Code u0001 only occurred at in & out inspections. Code u1504 steering angle sensor 3/2020.

Vehicle went in for an airbag light twice right before the extended warranty expired at 75k miles. The dealership claims to have replaced a wiring harness under the passenger seat both times. Just slightly over 75k miles, the light came on again. This time they advised the whole wiring system needs replaced and that it won't be covered. Got in touch with Chrysler directly who stated they are willing to only pay for the $1200+ part but that I would be responsible for approximately $400 in labor. Vehicle was in motion each time the light came on. Typically when encountering a slight bump on the interstate. Safford Jeep Chrysler ram in winchester va is the dealership the vehicle was purchased new and continued service at the same location. The vehicle has been in for 2 weeks now and currently there at this time. According to a brief internet search, this seems to be a common complaint yet no recalls have been issued. If this can be settled in any manner, I respectfully request that Chrysler provide a refund for what I'm about to pay to get my vehicle back up and running.

I bought my car in September 2019 around 25000 miles. In October the service airbag light came on . I took it to Chrysler and Jeep who charged over $3300 to fix . They said they talked to Chrysler who would cover $3000 and I had to pay the $300. I did that and the light is back on. It pops up ever couple minutes while I'm driving and it doesn't matter if I'm going 15 mph or 60 mph.

Dash airbag light stays on and the front axle is grinding and when turning the steering wheel right or left is a knocking sound from the tire.

While stationary the car steering wheel shakes really bad. While in motion the car jerks. Without pushing on break. The car takes a long time to get a little speed you have to mash the gas peddle. The air bag light stays on.

As I have owened the car for over a year now, have not had any issues besides the airbag light coming on. This happened today as my wife was taking my son to daycare. This is an issue I have seen among theese cars and needs to be addressed. I have a 1 year old and I would be sueing if he were to get injured by the system caused from poor manufacturing. Please have this issue fixed.

Service airbag light on. Apparently a common issue per search on internet. Since airbags are a safety issue, is there a reason this has not been recalled? poorly designed harness under seats allows for wires to be easily damaged or become loose from moving seat or being bumped by backseat passengers. Received estimate to repair in excess of $2800. 00.

My car stalls when I start to drive. If I don't let it idle in park for a good 15 minutes it will stall and tells me to put it in park. Once it stalls it is difficult to restart. Also the airbag light keeps coming on. If I hit the smallest pothole the airbag light comes on and it gives me a message stating service airbags. Also the driverside seat came untracked and cannot move it forward or backwards without it making a weird noise.

Airbag light is on the diagnostic came back as in open circuit in the passenger squib dealership says have to replace both seat harnesses. The dealer says it's not a safety issue.

When driving, a �service airbag system� message appears and the airbag light comes on. This happens every few minutes while driving on city streets and highways. The vehicle was taken to a dealership several months ago and we were told it has to do with a plug under the driver side seat which bends easily. It was fixed, but has started happening again. There are several reports online on various sites such as google and youtube reporting the same issue. My concern is that the airbags won't deploy if we were to get into an accident. I feel the plug should be recalled and replaced with one that will not malfunction. This is a serious safety concern and is not an isolated incident.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to boch new to you used car superstore (1201 providence hwy route 1, the automile, norwood, MA 02062, (781)332-4756) where it was diagnosed that the srs air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall; therefore, she would need to pay full price for the repair. The failure mileage was 53,900.

After a week of owning the vehicle, which was purchased from enterprise, my check engine light came own while on the highway with my family (wife and year ten month babe). We called the dealership and scheduled and appointment. Turns out the battery was dead. Got that fix and then while driving back home on the highway my airbag light came on with the check engine light as well. At the moment the light is still on and waiting to get my car in to my local dealership. I do not feel safe driving my Chrysler, even though it's a new car, but I need to get to work and a bus can't get me there. I hope this is a small fix and I can have my airbag system working again. I would feel safe. I have read and hear similar complaints of new owners with the the issues and dealerships refusing to service the work, even on cars with 30,000 miles. Please have this looked at or investigated, it would be a shame if something happens.

My 200 vehicle showed an air bag light 6 months after purchase, about may, 2016. Then the vehicle was not recalled so I ignored it. The oil change at the dealer after may, 2016 date failed to address the light. It remains on to this date. Repair on tire that showed a light was refused on June 7, 2017. This tire light remains a problem. Now, the vehicle will not go uphill without stalling and will not run when it rains. The fuel seems to be blocked because I keep pumping the gas to go uphill after it stalls. The car cuts off when I make left or right turns. Now, I warm the vehicle for 10 minutes to show the engine is ready. The engine light has come on for the past 6 months. I failed emission testing in sept. 2019. The tune up done this month did not help. The engine light and other matters caused the emission testing to fail. My complaint is directed to the gas problem, air bags, electrical dashboard problem for the past year along with the tire light.

I purchased my vehicle in 6/19/17 and immediately after a few rides I fault with the dealer about my airbag light coming on. I went to the dealership and they told me it was my airbag wiring harness and it would need to be replaced under both seats but it was not covered under warranty. There is no way I was paying for this when the car was practically new only approximately 42502 miles and I was having ongoing issues with my airbag light coming on. Well now I am really feeling like this recall is larger than it is presented. Also, the vehicle has electrical problems when I get things done to my vehicle. Such as my transmission needing service, the malfunction indicator light, the abs, the traction, and electronic park brake failure. All these lights came on just from replacing a hub (bearings) on my passenger side. My main complaint is on the air bag issue. I just want to voice my frustration when multiple people tell me they do not know why my vehicle is giving me these notifications.

Transmission is slipping and can't seem to get into gear while driving and getting to freeway speeds can't reach a max of 55mph. Have had the car completely stall out on the freeway and put itself into "neautral" while at freeway speeds. Maintenance airbag lights frequently coming on. Chrysler can't seem to find a fix to the issue on why this car is doing what it has been. They keep saying ithe issue is fixed when publicly there is no real fix to the issue and they don't know how to fix the re accruing problem. Little to say, I am deathly afraid of driving this vehicle even down the street to my local grocery store. I work too hard and pay to much for my first brand new car to be having issues like these. I really wish Chrysler would recall all of these vehicles already before someone ends up loosing a life over a faulty lemon of a vehicle.
