I am reporting multiple safety-related issues involving my 2016 Chrysler 200 s. On 02/06/2024, after an oil change at a dealership, the underbody skid plate bolts were not reinstalled. While driving, the skid plate fell and I lost control of the vehicle, creating a serious safety hazard. No warning indicators were present prior to this failure. The issue was identified immediately after leaving the dealership and is not properly documented in service records. In July 2022, following a battery replacement by the same dealership, the vehicle repeatedly lost power and stalled, leaving me stranded multiple times. I paid for diagnostic testing, but there is no documentation confirming proper diagnosis or repair. I was later advised incorrect hardware had been installed. On 02/27/2026, I was told the check engine light was on and diagnostic codes were cleared without repair. There is no documentation of the codes or repairs performed. I was also informed on 11/19/2022 that parts were ordered for a safety recall. From that date until 02/27/2026, I was repeatedly told parts were unavailable. I scheduled repair and dropped off the vehicle on 03/13/2026. I received notice that repair had begun, but later discovered the vehicle had not been serviced at all. No explanation was provided. Additionally, service records are inaccurate. A vehicle history report shows service on 03/17/2026 at a dealership I have never visited. The vehicle was not serviced anywhere on that date. These issues involve loss of control, repeated stalling, improper repairs, failure to complete a recall, and inaccurate reporting. Documentation is incomplete or missing. Since the day I picked up the car from the dealership lot, I have had consistent issues with this vehicle simply operating safely and normally. In arizona, you're legally responsible for a vehicle the moment you sign — even before you drive it off the property — so I was essentially stuck with it. From that point forward, I have been at my dealership nearly every month due to various mechanical and electrical issues. The vehicle has a history of repeated electrical and mechanical failures that affect both safety and basic function. One of the most serious problems is that the car randomly shuts off while driving, including in traffic and at intersections. This happens without warning and creates a serious risk of being hit from behind or losing control of the vehicle. In addition, the car frequently fails to start. It will often require a jump-start just to turn on, but even then, service technicians have told me the battery is not the issue, and in some cases, it doesn’t respond to a jump at all. The problem remains undiagnosed, with technicians saying they cannot pinpoint the cause. The issue appears to be electrical or ignition-related, but no definitive fix has been found. There have also been ongoing problems with the transmission jerking, hesitation during acceleration, and various warning lights coming on, including the battery, check engine, and transmission indicators. These issues began shortly after purchase and have occurred consistently over time. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership numerous times, where they have attempted repairs, but the problems continue. It is not safe to drive and continues to present a major safety hazard due to unexpected shutdowns and unreliable starting. These issues have been acknowledged by the dealer but never resolved, and the vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request.

I was parked in a parking lot backing out of a space. I was too close to the right curb so I put the car in drive to go forward to straighten out the tires. The gas accelerated abruptly and would not stop when I pressed the brake. The car jumped the curb/sidewalk and plowed into the parked car in front of me. The gas continued to accelerate pushing the vehicle in front of me about 5 feet back. The car did not stop until I jammed it into park. My bumper was ripped off when backing up was caught in the grill of the vehicle it collided with. I had both feet on the brake pad trying to stop the car and it would not stop. A very frightening experience. I have read several posts on this acceleration problem and believe there should be a recall. Not a good experience to remember Chrysler by.

As I’m approaching a steeper hill I go from 25 to 20mph as I try to turn the corner of the hill I feel the speed of the vehicle picking up as I’m trying to slow down without slamming on the brakes the vehicle takes off hits the curb then a utility pole before coming to a complete stop.
The 2016 Chrysler 200 has a defect in it , the drain hoses become plugged and flood the interior of the car. There is no easy way to access these hoses without taking apart the cowl under the hood of the car and removing the windshield wipers to access the drain. It has happened now three times costing 500 each time to have it cleaned and blown out . . . There needs to be something done about this . As it can cause electrical problems in the car with all the water that floods in through the heater area. . . Chrysler is well aware of this problem all the way back to the sebring yet they have done nothing to correct it . They ever tell the buyer that this need to be cleaned and they really provide no access to the owner to clean the area without disassemble of the cowl area and windshield wipers. Which is more than most buyers can do , when you take it to Chrysler they tell you its maintenace . Yet it is no where in the book nore covered by their maintenace package. It will rot out the car floor boards and will cause the car to be worth less . . . . Chrysler should have to make this right with all owners either offering a free cleaning every year of a rebate on their vehicle.

My son was in a car accident, he went off of the road, and totaled my car, the airbags did not deploy. I bought this car brand new in Jan,2015, and had a couple of recalls to get it fixed for certain parts. Also I was having surge problems with this car.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the front driver side door started to smoke. The contact stated the she attempted to extinguish the fire with water however, she was unable. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. The contact a disable person, was scared for her safety and the safety of others. The contact called the dealer where she schedule an appointment and later taken the vehicle to lone star Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram dealer, (8811 interstate 35 access rd, san antonio, TX 78211) but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that now the driver side door failed to lock. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent out a third party and the contact was informed that the door was badly burned and there was noting else they could do. The failure mileage was approximately unknown.
Airbags deployed randomly while driving//no collision occurred. Refer to word document for description.
As I was driving I started to smell something burning one of my children began to cough as I looked back at him and then out the windshield again I seen smoke coming from the hood area so I immediately pulled off the rode and got both of my children out of the car as we moved away from the car the smoke began to get thicker and the next thing that happened was my car was up in flames. No lights on the dashboard came on the temperature of the car was normal no alarms going off on car before or while car was smoking. I was on a city street.
On the night of 5/11 I came home from a business trip in a rental vehicle and pulled my personal vehicular out of my underground secured garage to take to a store approximately 1 mile away. After returning to my apartment I parked the vehicle in the outside parking lot just for that night as I parked the rental underground. About 15 minutes after parking my vehicle I heard 2 loud booming sounds I could hear from my apartment. About 20 minutes after the booming sounds three police officers came to my apartment door and told me my vehicle was on fire. They took me down to the parking lot and told me there was an explosion that led to the fire. They told me there was a witness who saw sparks flying which led the police detective and fire department to think it was an electrical issue that led to the explosion. There is a police report on file and I have filed a claim with my insurance. The engine compartment was completely engulfed in flames and the heat/fire damaged the two vehicles on either side of my vehicle.
The car was in a collision and caught fire on impact completely destroying the entire car.
We were driving down the road and there were no cars or anything around to cause what happened. We heard a loud bang or explosion like a gun going off and it hurt my ears and made them ring. It like stunned us almost like when you wreck a car feeling. I checked myself for blood and asked the others in my car were they ok. We pulled over to check and my sunroof had exploded. What's left up there was push outward like the car had pressure in it and that's how it released it. I need the company to fix it but they won't . We called the headquarters as soon as we got to the house and took the car to the dealer as the requested the very next day and they will not fix it and its their fault for using whatever glass they used or maybe the body of the car twist to much. Its their build and o their fault. I didn't make this car or do anything to it.
Transmission started acting up, jerking, stuck in 4th gear and also in 7th gear while driving 55 miles an hour. Numerous times, also caused me to wreck hit a trash can because it was either that it be ran over by a semi, I took the lesser of the 2 evils, my car has never had a leak of any sorts, keep it in a garage when not driving, had it towed because it wouldn't go into drive or reverse to fuqua motors dunkirk indiana because of the transmission issues, when I got it back it seemed ok for about 7 days, then I noticed it jerking again, took it back to fuqua they worked on it again, lasted about a month noticed it jerking and getting stuck in 4th and 7th gear again causing me to almost wreck on a highway, took it back they supposedly fixed it, then after having it home for a bit I had a liquid all over my garage floor found out it was transmission fluid so I took it back again, they claimed it was fluid overage from transmission fluid so they hosed it down said they did the work for free supposedly all this work fell under power train warranty yet they wouldn't cover the cost of my rentals and I own a business that requires travel, so I spent over a thousand on rentals. Now transmission is jerking again, fluid all over my garage floor again, almost wrecked on my way home driving it, now it's been parked in my garage undrivable so I have once again rented a vehicle, needless to say the power train warranty hasn't been honored, has caused me to wreck and I have a cracked windshield and big dent on front of car, this is my business car my livelihood, my only means to get my daughter to the children's hospital in indianapolis, I've always owned jeeps, dodges and this was my first Chrysler, I'm so disappointed that my power train warranty was never honored nor were my rentals paid during which times the dealership had my car, car is doing it again with leaks of fluid.
I notified the Dodge recall center a month ago about an issue with electrical problems and engine stalls as well as problem codes. This affected driving and prevented registration per smog check. I was making a alright turn on el dorado and cleveland street last Thursday, 3/21/2019 and the car locked up or cut off and slid into a guard rail and curb damaging the driver side of the body and was unforgivable. It is being investigated now but the fca investigator informed me that he would not be able to inspect the vehicle until I signed and returned the attached document. Upon calling a month ago I performed a VIN search and realized that there were a few electrical recall incidents performed on my vehicle previously which were never disclosed with me. As a matter of fact the dealer edited the documents to show a clean history when printing my paperwork when I purchased the vehicle. I am totally confused as to what my rights are and how do I go about getting my vehicle repaired or compensated. Please let me know if you need any further documentation.
I was traveling 55 mph on the highway my tire blew out an the fender blew off but somehow the cars whole engine wiring system was ripped out of the car in which the whole car went completely dead of all electricity thankfully I was able to pull on shoulder of highway before the car stopped rolling.

Hood. Just came up while driving about 55 miles a hr scared wandering is this a recall no warning. Lucky there was no one on the road at the time but hood hit the car bent it up bad only 42000 miles.
The interior dash is melted and now is very sticky.
I noticed the passenger side floor was getting wet, I pulled up the carpet and noticed pooled water. I took vehicle to dealer. They ran water over vehicle and water continued to pool on passenger side floor. Dealer thought it might be drainage issues or heater core. Neither was correct. I was told there is an issue with seams and welds coming apart but dealer not responsible since vehicle at 36992 miles. There is a TSB and star case open on issue. Star case number is s1623000004. Release date for this case is 11/14/2017. The TSB is for Chrysler 200's for '15-'16 model year sold in nafta and apac markets built on or before July 5, 2016. The TSB was dated September 27, 2016. The number is 23-045-16.
It was my first time purchasing a car. I thought I was going to a legit business, north american auto group. They are rip offs. They sold me a car with a crack windshield and told me I had to fix it myself because they was not making much off the car for them to fix it, they told me they was unable to give me an inspection sticker because they don't do those, the brakes started to give out while I was driving and I went back to let them fix it. They said they do not do brakes and it's not included in my warranty, that's up to me to get changed on my own. Opening and closing the door has left me with a dent on the passenger side. The tires are horrible. The struts needs to be fixed and I need a wheel alignment. All of these things were suppose to be fixed before I even purchased the car.
The car accumulates debris below the windshield under the plastic tray which clogs up a drain tube which then makes the water flood back through the heater core into the passenger side of the car . Wetting the floor soaking the carpet and causing rust and black mold. I had it fixed once, but after investigation into the Chrysler cars that this is an on going problem with all their vehicles for yrs now. This needs to be recalled and this design flaw fixed. Either they need to have free maintenance of this or they need to have a separate tube for rain drainage and a different tube for ac heat drainage. . It has cause depreciation of my over all resale value of this car plus caused carpet padding damage rust and possibly mold in my car. . Chrysler keeps laying back on the owners saying maintenance problem . . And charging over 500 to fix it. It's not like an owner can easily clean this area it involves take apart the windshield wipers etc.
2015 Chrysler 200 have had nothing but trouble with the car since purchase. Transmission runs very rough, car jerks, shifts gears unexpectedly, engine shuts off while driving. 9/29/17 engine shut off while driving and car hit a curb. Have taken to the dealership over and over and they say nothing is wrong with the car and have not noted in my file that I have complained about transmission problems. Was contacted by Chrysler engineers that were doing a study on the transmission problems and wanted me to test drive a newer model to compare. They admitted Chrysler knew about problems with this model but have been unable to get Chrysler to admit or buy back the vehicle.

The contact stated that the vehicle hood flew open independently while driving at 60 mph, the contact coasted over to the side of the road and was able to resumed driving. The vehicle was taken to chastang Chrysler dealer, located on 1212 s velasco st, angleton, TX 77515, where the vehicle was rejected to be serviced, the dealer informed the contact that he was at fault due to him leaving the hood open. The vehicle was not repaired due to the diagnostic and repaired fees. The contact stated that the hood latch was replaced before at chastang Chrysler dealer however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was called and informed the contact that there will be a fee for the diagnostic and the replacement of the hood. The approximate failure mileage was 35,150. Aw.

My vehicle was involved in a hit a run, and the part I need has been on backorder with Chrysler for several months. I can still drive the vehicle, but it has been deemed unsafe for road use. I cannot fix the car until this part is available, and I can't get a car through insurance for more than 30 day. Could you guys push Chrysler to make this part at a faster rate, there are over 600 backorders on this part with many angry customer eagerly waiting for it. The new part number is 68376692aa.
My chry 200, 2015 was involved in a front end collision and the air bags did not deploy. When my car collided with the side of a school bus the whole front and driver side of the Chrysler was smashed in and tore off. The vehicle was in motion on impact, on a city street while turning left.

My husbands Chrysler 200 2015 had huge electrical problems which would cause the vehicle to completely shut off while being driven. The car's electrical would not work, the keyfob wouldn't work, the trunk wouldn't open and you could not shift gears. The dealership could not figure out the issue but "fixed" it several times. The car malfunctioned again and my husband was involved in a car accident as a result, which totaled the car completely, with no airbag deployment. Chrysler has not fixed the issue, instead they have closed several cases/claims we have opened with them, never addressing the issue of the car turning off without notice, only the airbag concern. Again, the car was being driven when it completely shut off and loses all electrical and engine power, which resulted in the accident which totaled the car.
I own a 2015 Chrysler 200 . I was driving it the first month when I bought it( which is July 2016) and unexpectedly the car started to slow down from 55 to 35mph . I was really surprised because I wasn't even hitting the brake. I went to the dealer and check, he told me that everything is ok. But last month I was driving home , I saw something on the road at the last minute . I slowed down but the car didn't respong ,I hit that thing. I didn't even know what it was. Maybe an animal or something that was laying down on the road. The front of my car was broken. One of my headlight is broken. The dealer told me that maybe something is wrong with the car. And my car need actually about $2000 to be repaired. My car is brand new and still have warranty on it. I am tried to use the insurance to repair it but nobody is really helping me with that ,until yesterday when I got that letter on the mail (safety recall about my car ).
Was driving car going only 25-30 mph and made an attempt to slow down to a stop which I had plenty of time and space between car in front of me and my front fender to do, as I applied brakes I notice it go all the way to the floor and my car wouldn't stop which soon after having plenty of space to do it led to a rear end collision as my brakes failed to work correctly when applied. I have a police report to verify the incident on 09/27/2016 in appleton, WI. Because I was going at a really slow speed at the time luckily no one was really hurt when this occurred around 10:00 am in an area with little to no traffic at the time, but even know I was only going around 20 when there was an impact my car which was new prior to this accident is now considered under state law in wisconsin a salvage vehicle as repairs exceeded the value at the time of 7000. 00.

Ive had trouble with this vehicle since I took possession 6/30/2014! issues has been: brakes(2x), uconnect (numerous times taken in for service and still has the same problem), aux- (numerous times taken in for service and still has the same problem, driver chair lever, vehicle shut down with flashing dash and gear lights while driving causing near death accidents (numerous times), radio shut down, vehicle came to a complete shut down and I had to have it towed, vehicle wouldn't start and I had it towed, vehicle accelerates on its own after the brake is released (take in numerous times and still had this problem, this ongoing issue has caused me to get into an accident and now Chrysler has denied my claim for them to fix my vehicle due to there negligent. I take the vehicle in for service for these ongoing issues and I get the vehicle back stating that there is nothing wrong but I have the same problems overtime!! I have video and pictures.
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. While driving 45 mph, a loud noise was heard. The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that the front passenger side fender wall was loose and wrapped around the tire. There were no warning indicators illuminated.
