While driving at 40 miles per hour, the hood flew up, and back, into the window and marked the roof. We discovered that the hood release had been pulled earlier, instead of trunk release. My issue, after closing the now "sprung" hood, we tested the secondary "safety" latch, it did not hold.

Mold inside passenger door and back left side door, every time it rains, water collects in the door and never comes out - causing mold to form. Car has never been wrecked and it was bought brand new.
Was involved in a 3 -car accident on 04/27/2016 per the way he vehicle was hit and the damages, the airbags should have deployed, no airbags deployed and car would not turn off. . . Meaning the push to start would not turn off engine. . . The vehicle was in motion when accident occurred and there is no reason exactly why the airbags didn't deploy being that the axle is damaged as well.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 200. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 13v282000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. On a separate occasion, when the brakes were applied and the gear was placed into park, the vehicle accelerated through a wall. The air bags deployed. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and later towed to geico. The front end of the vehicle was replaced. The dealer diagnosed the brakes. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.
My Chrysler 200 had been recalled mid 2015 for a glitch in their computer system that required all Chrysler, Dodge, ram, and fiat vehicles with the 8. 4 screen to have a chip sent out and installed by self to update and instill security to those cars. In January of 2016 I was involved in a collision in my Chrysler 200. My entire front end was knocked off as I was awaiting a turn in a center lane on a city street. My engine dropped and all fluids were expelled from this vehicle, my air bags did not deploy. When I called concerned about it I was told that my vehicle was tested with a hand device in a junk yard and that I had not been hit hard enough or in the right place for them to deploy. I could not believe due to the force and damage done but was still told by a Chrysler representative that there was no malfunction with the air bags. The car was a total loss but was resold to a dealership in cincinnati, OH and put up for sale. I am still receiving notifications about the car due to uconnect and is very concerned about this same vehicle being sold and put on the road.
Dear sir/ madam: 11-08-15 a fire occurred at my house which was located at 5253 braidwood cv, on the above date, I parked my 2012 Chrysler 200 in the garage and went to bed. Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour after retiring, I was awakened by a loud explosion and my neighbors beating on my front door to awaken me and my 21 year old grandson. He also was sleeping in another bedroom. When both of us attempted to escape from the house through the kitchen/garage entrance, we were met my heavy bellowing grey and black smoke that prevented our exit and almost overwhelmed us. Several months later, I am yet suffering from the shock and emotional trauma. Because of dealing with flashbacks, nightmares, intermittent waves of nervousness, deep sadness, feelings of grief/loss, periodic confusion, digestion issues, and numerous financial concerns, I am in professional counseling. I have been unable to write this letter until now. Even now, a friend is assisting me with completing this communication. This is the second contact I have had with your corporation. The first was the morning after the fire, when my son called on my behalf from his cell phone. He was informed that there was no recall of this particular Chrysler 200, however there were some known problems with the gas tank and ignition systems that were built between March and November of 2012. Please understand. I lost my house, 23 long years¿ worth of cherished belongings, and the car I recently purchased. I lost everything in the fire. I decided that,I would rather initially contact Chrysler directly. My hope is that Chrysler will understand the gravity of the situation and do the right thing without going through expensive attorneys. 901239. 0809/email ldmadd@hotmail. Com . Noticed that my front bumper is warping away from the headlights and is also damaging the body paint as a result of flexing when driving. This is now the 4th issue with this vehicle since purchase to go along with my multiple repairs for brakes, transmission, and esim (fuel system).
Sheet metal welding issues that causes water to leak into the backseat and cause major carpet damage.
1. Delayed/harsh shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Especially harsh when the vehicle was cold. 2. Vehicle lunges forward when downshifting rapidly. For example, if I was driving 55mph and had to stop quickly, as the transmission downshifted the entire vehicle would thrust/jump around 3rd-4th gears. It almost feels like the car is going to accelerate instead of stopping. 3. In a situation where the vehicle is slowed, but not stopped, and then accelerated (such as exiting a parking lot onto a major road), once the accelerator is applied, the engine rpms shoot up, but the transmission delays dramatically before upshifting, causing the vehicle to jerk. 4. At speeds between 24-26mph, the transmission jumps around wildly between gears causing the vehicle to jerk. After multiple service visits and software updates, the transmission and torque converter were replaced. The vehicle has been driven for over 3 weeks since this repair, and issues 2, 3 & 4 still exist. Other issues: 1. Intermittent extended crank time¿2-3 times longer than a typical crank before starting. A. Engine code showed the dealership there had been extended crank times. Dealership attempted repairs, citing an oil pressure problem, but issue continued. B. On a separate service visit, we were told this was due to a recall and they were awaiting parts. C. Recall work was performed around 12/1/15, but the issue still exists. The issue has actually gotten substantially worse since the weather has gotten cold. 5. ¿park¿ not engaging properly. When putting the vehicle into ¿park¿, there was a loud clunking sound. When the brake was released, the car would roll forward. A. This issue seems to have been resolved by repairs around 12/1/15.
When driving, after a rain, especially when turning corners water comes rushing to the front of the car from underneath the dashboard. Most times the passenger side is drench and the driver side is slightly drenched but I'm sure this a problem because there must be wires exposed. Please help.
On several occasions I have noticed the hood partially up after parking the car. This has happened 3 times in the past two weeks and I have not looked under the hood during that time. I suspect that the hood latch may be faulty.

I read the manual from first page to last when I purchased the vehicle 1) no mention of sliding arm rest and the fact that it doesn't lock in position. Very stiff to move from driver position, so I wasn't aware 2) when arm rest is slid forward it encroaches over the rear cup holder. 3) when cup holder/console storage cover is slid back halfway and locked in position, the armrest when slid forward encroaches over both cup holders. Appears very hazardous, so unbeknownst of this feature and while I was accelerating from 0 mph at traffic light that had just changed to green, the passenger in the back seat had pushed on the arm rest for an unknown reason (probably thinking it was stationary). As the arm rest shot forward, it squashed and propelled my large coffee cup through the cockpit area. Luckily it was not hot, but the problem was that it was a complete distraction not knowing this could happen. When I looked to see what the heck was happening, the vehicle in front of me had already been braking to stop. For that split second I wasn't paying attention to my driving from the distraction, I crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of me. A design flaw? maybe add a locking mechanism. This is very hazardous without knowing the sliding armrest feature that could sever a drink cup in half while driving. I'm calling Chrysler customer service (800) 247-9753 and Chrysler group recall assistance (800) 853-1403 I know I'm responsible for the control of my vehicle, but something needs to be done about this hazard and I may seek compensation for my deductible. Yeah, good luck with that, right?.
While driving on the interstate the hood suddenly released without warning striking the windshield. The only damage to the car was the hood. Car was rented from enterprise.
Driver door handle broke when I attempted to enter the vehicle.

As I pulled out onto the highway, my car began to stall, it would not pull forward. It made a noise like the transmission is going out. So, I came to a complete stop and started on my route again. This has happened several times. The last time was 2/21/2015 at just over 5100 miles. My car would not change gears, so I had to come to a complete stop and turn the car off and restart the car in order for the gears to change. I have also noticed that the floor board on the drive side passenger floor is wet. I have no idea where the water is coming from.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving approximately 5 mph, the front bumper became detached from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000. Updated 10/7/cn.
Brand new 2014, Chrysler 200 hardtop convertible has surface rust on rear driver side quarter panel where it meets brake light, surface rust on edge of trunk deck, rusted bolts inside driver and passenger door hinges, convertible top leak at drivers left corner of interior. Bought brand new with 11 miles on it.
This car has a bad blind spots in it, when your changing lanes you have better make sure that you look all the way around over your left shoulder before changing lanes or you will hit the car that's beside you, I could not see the car in the next lane and I put my turn signals on and got half way over and their was a car in the lane next to me and the car hit me on the front panel and the door, they charge me with improper lane change and I couldn't see this car in my mirror, when you back up in this car you had better be careful cannot see well out of the car to back up, using your mirrors you still cannot see everything. Maybe the mirrors should be one size bigger, so you can see more of the road beside you. This cost me 2points on my license, hadn't had a ticket in 30 years, cost me 155. 00 and 1,100. 00 in damage to the car. This needs to be look into, very poor design on this . I understand their are recalls on this car, but I haven't gotton anything from the dealer yet and a problem with the engine, it will shut down when driving, causing loss of control of the car;.
Can see bubbling thru paint on engine hood took to dealer was told aluminum hood is corroding.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and a loud noise emitted continuously. The failure recurred whenever the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three times however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. In addition, the front hood was misaligned and repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 900. The VIN was unavailable.
After minimal rain, the driver's side headlight assembly fogged up and accumulated drops of water inside the sealed unit. Took vehicle to dealer, technician said seal around unit is cracked and needed to be replaced. Dealer charges over $500 dollars for replacement. Nighttime visibility is drastically reduced. Repair is not covered under any warranty. This is an issue Chrysler knows about but has not issued a recall.

. There are about 8 cars ahead of me in my lane as we wait for the green light. When the lights turn green I note that my lane hasn't moved and the buses are steady chugging through the intersection in the left lane I look into my rearview mirror, I was the last car in line for this stop and I hadn't even gotten my foot off the brake and all I could see was a big black grill coming toward me. I braced my hands on the steering wheel and shouted please don't hit me before I could finish the sentence blam! fortunately the cars ahead of me were just starting to move forward. My head snapped so hard my ears went full. The dash mat on my car came at me like an airbag. My phone in the front center console flew forward and hit the shift knob and the back popped off and must have shaken the battery loose. The coffee in my lidded cup spewed out thru the small sipping hole all over the corner of my leather seats. I sat stunned, trying to assess what just happened. I knew that my neck at the base of my skull was burning, as I reached to pull the dash mat off of me I realized my right arm hurt. I still hadn't taken my foot off of the brake and I couldn't believe what just happened. I have been rear ended . . . Almost $5000 worth of rear end damage, and medical bills for whiplash and a broken elbow! I am being told by Chrysler that there is an active head restraint recall (this restraint could have prevented my whiplash). Loss of work, and medical costs, had to hire an attny. Against the other driver, still trying to recover my financial losses.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. While driving at approximately 65 mph, water entered the vehicle through a window due to a fractured window seal. The failure occurred on multiple occasions during rainy weather conditions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the window seal was replaced on six occasions, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated the driver's side door would not close whenever the temperature was below 20-30 degrees. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the engine would have to become warm before driving. The dealer did not inspect the problem with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 15,000.
Within 2 days of purchasing this vehicle, rear brakes were squealing like they would do if they were due to be replaced. I brought it back to the dealership and they supposedly inspected them and told me "its just rust from sitting on the lot and it will clear up after you drive it a while", it continued and a couple months following the first visit I returned with the vehicle and told them it still was making the noise and they checked it out again and said "OH, its just dust on the brakes and if you step on your brakes hard at about 40 mph that should take care of the problem". Here we are 2 years later and the rear brakes still make the squealing noise. About June/July of this year timeframe I brought my vehicle in to the dealership because I have about 5 different spots on the hood and grill of the vehicle has the paint "blistering" and rust underneath. The dealership didn't call me and tell me what they were going to do about it so I called them about a month later. The warranty guy at the dealership told me that Chrysler was going to "send a whole new hood" which I guess didn't make much sense to me but whatever. To date I haven't heard from the dealership any further on this matter and the vehicle is nearing the limits on the warranty period for mileage. The dealership I have been dealing with is john hirsch's motors in cambridge, mn.
Was rear ended by a car traveling at 60mph and was pushed under a truck. The engine popped up and the back was pushed up into backseat. I wrote twice but never heard nothing back. I go to court for my accident since the owner of truck suing me and driver behind me June 30, 2014. My car was totaled with cost of repair $21000 on a car I had for approx 8 months. Date of accident was 6/9/12 not one air bag came out/ deployed. I was taken to hospital in ambulance on a stretcher. What can I do?.
