37 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

I am having issues with the car stalling out or bogging down shortly after refueling and many times happening within less than a mile of refueling. I have brought the car into the local delaership who can not replicate the problems (and am now being stuck paying a $95 diagnostic fee), and calling Chrysler directly who is unwill to try to assist. If this is a know issue (NHTSA action number pe13016), I don't understand why this isn't being addressed and corrected immediately.

38 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2014

Car engine stalls after refueling. This has been happening for a year. I just found the NHTSA study on the problem.

39 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2014

The car was filled up with fuel and no more than 2-5 miles from the gas station while driving the engine cut off with no warning while in traffic. Was able to restart the engine and continue on and within a mile it stalled out again in traffic. This time the car would not start. The car was pushed to the side of the road. The oil pressure light was also coming on so did not want to push the car and cause further damage. After 45 mins I restarted the car fine and was able to drive 1 mile before it stalled out at a stop sign. Again no warning and the car lost all power and you were unable to stop the car easily or turn the wheel since all power was lost. The oil pressure light did come on again but did not occur until after the car engine cut off and all power was lost. This time time I checked the oil and the level was fine but I still added an extra quart of oil. Then within 5 mins I was able to start the car and drive it the rest of the way 1-2 miles to the dealership. Upon arriving at the dealership we checked the error coded. The dealership than changed the oil and did a full inspection and drive of the car and was unable to reproduce the issue I was seeing before going to the dealership.

40 Other Fuel System problem

Sending another log. Not sure my complaint went through. Since beginning of 2014 my 2006 Chrysler 300c hemi intermittently stalls after refueling. It occurs immediately after a refuel and usually when you are at a low speed to stop at a traffic light, stop sign, or it can occur by just traveling at a slow speed. This can occur 'anywhere' after a refuel. It has occurred numerous times after pulling on interstates after a stop at a convenient refuel. I'm always frantic due to the traffic on interstates. I do not feel safe with myself and passengers in my vehicle with this situation. Sometimes after a refuel it will stall 3 - 4 times. I was going to take my car to a dealership, but wanted to read on the internet if any issues as this were logged. I was amazed. Chrysler should pay for the fix, since it is over $1000 to fix the issue, plus it is a known issue of 'numerous' recorded loggings. It stated on the internet that letters went out for a lifetime warranty for this issue, but I did not receive a letter. Please let me know how to go forward with this issue.

48 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2013

After filling the Chrysler up with gas for the last 6 months, maybe more, the car starts and then within 3 feet it shuts off. The computer says that the system is ok. This happens 3 to four times in traffic. It has caused minor bumper problems. It is a serious safety issue. Finally, it was supposedly, inspected by bettenhausen, fiat in tinley park, but we never got a response or the problem alleviate. It did the same thing today on the highway. Thank god, there were no cars next to me. I had to pull over because the car stopped without warning.

49 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

I will fill up with premium gas ,pull ot of the station, car then stalls and bucks. This has happened numerous times.

50 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2013

Car stalls after refueling. Difficult to restart and leaves you in a very dangerous situation. We've had it completely stall going 70 mph down the interstate and almost was involved in an accident while limping to the shoulder. Too dangerous to re-merge after car finally restarts because it will hesitate and misfire or stall again. This will happen about every 2 months with no symptoms between incidents. Also seems to happen more in hotter weather.

51 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2013

The first time it happened I was sitting at a red light waiting to turn left. The car just stalled. I restarted without difficulty. It was a few days after when it happened again. It has probably happened about 7 times more since then, every time while I was idling with my foot on the brake. Each time it restarted on the first try. However for the first time today the car stalled while in drive going about 15 mph.

52 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2013

Vehicle stall after fueling up.

53 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2013

After refueling my car (06 300c srt8) several time at low speeds or at a stop the car has stalled and took several times to restart. If the car is empty and is filled only to 3/4 ways this does not happen. The car is at the point when ever it is filled over 3/4 mark and depending on the drive it has stalled several time until under 3/4 mark.

54 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2013

My car has been stalling out frequently, especially at stops. I have taken it to the dealership to check it out but they said that they couldn't find anything wrong, based on their computer diagnostics.

55 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Just after filling the car with gasoline, when driving the car it jumps and then stalls three to four times befor running normal again. Very dangerous, very. . . .

56 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2012

After filling up the car it will stutter and stall randomly. I have almost been hit twice and honked at numerous times for a basic, yet dangerous issue.

57 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2012

Stalled when passing another vehicle, died backing out of driveway into street and almost hit by another vehicle. Randomly dies at stop signs. I don't feel safe driving car.

58 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2012

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that immediately after refueling, the vehicle stalled without any warning. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 62,000.

59 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2012

Car stalls while driving without warning. I've had this happen at least three times and a couple of times, I had trouble restarting the car. The unpredictable nature of the problem make me apprehensive to drive the car on the highway, or on any long trips.

60 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

Every time we get the car filled with gas it stalls until we drive and restart it for 2 or 3 miles. It is very dangerous and I am afraid that there will be someone that runs into me during one of the stalls. I replaced the gas cap but that did not help the problem. I went on line and now see that it is a very common problem. There should be a recall by Chrysler to immediately correct this very serious problem!!!.

61 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2011

I had just filled up with gas and as I pulled out in traffic, my car stalled. I was able to pull to the shoulder and restart the engine. Next day, I filled up with fuel and the same problem. I have had this problem every time I fill with fuel since the initial experience. Now my car stalls about six to eight times before it runs normal after filling with gas. Chrysler told me that the car was beyond the warranty at the time of the first incident and refused to fix the problem except at a cost of about $2000. Now Chrysler says that I was notified earlier and did not contact them within the allotted time. I was never notified. I am the original owner of the car. I am referencing pe13-016 and informing you that Chrysler is refusing to meet its obligation. Please help me!.

62 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2011

After filling the car up with fuel it stalled for the next 10 minutes.

63 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2008

We purchased this auto showroom new from the dealer in 2006. Although breaking was questionable, we accepted when told the system was fine and the jerking was normal. However, since April 2008 this vehicle has stalled off and on at the most unsafe times. The dealers have not been able to duplicate the problem so they will not repair it. We had a new factory engine installed ($7,000) in 2012 and guess what? this new engine has started stalling. All our work has been completed at a dealership so Chrysler can't claim that an auto shop might have done something wrong to the vehicle. After viewing all the same complaints and having it happen to my wife and I, why haven't you or Chrysler taken care of the problem? dokkkkkkkkkkkk.

64 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2008

My car stalls after fill up at gas stations which shuts down power steering, power brakes and air bags.

65 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2007

Fueled the vehicle, attendant "topped it off". Started vehicle and it sputtered, running poorly as if it had a fuel issue. Smelt fuel from under the hood. Let vehicle set for 10 minutes, started up vehicle and proceeded to a 4-lane main highway. Just as we accelerated from the stop light, the car sputtered, then died. I managed to pull over to the side of the road out of traffic. Let the unit set for 10 minutes, ran the vehicle and no further issues that day. At the next fill up, the same pattern emerged. A third incident occurred a few months later and I researched the problem. Since that time I have cautioned the fuel attendants to not "top it off" and the issue has not reoccurred.
